  1. Technically I don't suppose its illegal to do so as long as you kept your FEO in the loop. I was thinking of re-enactors, they make their own matchlocks and things like that. Some of the cannons too. I fired a cannon at Bisley some years back and that looked recently made.
  2. Yes it is satisfying, I have been doing it for years. Back then it was practically a necessity
  3. The entire Birmingham gun trade consisted of thousands of one man jobbers working on benches with hand tools and very little else in grubby little back street workshops. Yet some of the finest guns ever made now bearing the names of legendary gunmakers were actually produced in this way
  4. That is what happened in the Birmingham postal votes scandal and allegedly in Bethnal Green too. Its the tip of the iceberg though. The reluctance to investigate it suggests the authorities know its a can of worms and don't want to open the lid on it. The suggestion is its been going on for years, when Maggie introduced the Poll tax, the idea was your Council Tax would be based on the number of people registered to vote in your house. The left wing went ballistic and massive highly coordinated riots ensued. You have to question why they were so opposed to it ? On the face of it the Poll Tax was much fairer than the previous Rates system it was set to replace.
  5. Slide? They used to sell those Navy Colt plans (and a lot of others) in Exchange & Mart years ago
  6. Yes the horse chestnut outside my kitchen window is very brown
  7. Look at my thread on who can vote in the UK and reflect, all those people will voting on our Brexit deal, Its remainers heaven
  8. How many of those countries would let you or me vote in their elections? Its blatent vote rigging pure and simple, although they will no doubt try to say all sorts of excuses. Its not fit for purpose I know my mother's Hungarian carer and her husband both voted in the EU referendum because she told me so quite openly. They were sent cards, they went along and they voted. How many others did too? Millions I suspect We had the Birmingham vote rigging scandal where thousands of non existent voters were registered and then given postal votes, strangely they all voted the same way. Are we so ******* stupid that we are prepared to put up with this?
  9. Yes I hadn't even thought of that aspect
  10. We have just had a letter through from the local Electoral Register to update the names of people eligible to vote in our house With it came a leaflet basically saying who is eligible to vote You don't have to be a British Citizen, ANYONE from the following countries is entitled to vote in the UK Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Monserrat, Pitcairn Island, Henderson Island, Dulcie Island, Oeno Island, St Helena, Ascension Island, Tristan de Cunha, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, Virgin Islands, Antigua and Barbuda, Canada, Kenya, Nauru, St Vincent and Grenadines, Tonga, Australia, Dominica, Kiribati, New Zealand, Samoa, Trinidad and Tobago, Bahamas, Fiji, Lesotho, Nigeria, Seychelles, Tuvalu, Bangladesh, Gambia, Malawi, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Barbados, Ghana, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Belize, Grenada, Malta, Cyprus, Solomon Islands, Tanzania, Botswana, Guyana, Mauritius, Rwanda, South Africa, Vanuatu, Brunei, India, Mozambique, St Christopher and Nevis, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Cameroon, Jamaica, Namibia, St Lucia, Swaziland, and last but not least Zimbawbe. I was SHOCKED! Is it any wonder we are in the state we are in. When did this happen? This has all the hallmarks of Labour vote rigging sometime in the past because I can't imagine anyone from Namibia is ever going to vote conservative. This has got to get raised as an issue. Whats even more amazing is the form doesn't even require you to provide any proof of who you are and where you come from you just write a name, and where you allegedly come from and post it off. There is no form of checking.
  11. That's exactly right, they are not sophisticated bits of kit. It comes back to the point I made before, you have to have a reason to want to do it though. This factory sound like it was just for the money but they were going to get caught eventually.
  12. That's what they are angling for, the likes of Blair, Clegg, Cable, Miller (and her financial backer George Soros) etc hope to split the leave vote. If they negotiate some convoluted rubbish terms and then ask me if I am happy with them I will say no. Its not that I don't want to leave I just don't want the terms. Mr Remainer who lives over the road will always say no. So the no vote is going to be loaded massively against a yes vote, and they know it
  13. So what that is saying is the problem comes from smuggled weapons not antiques. Ah I see now, they are looking to change the focus because they can't stop the smuggled gun? Got it!
  14. Anybody with an O level in metalwork and a hobby lathe could make a working gun in their garage if they wanted to. They are not mechanically sophisticated pieces of equipment. There are hundreds of how to do it videos on youtube. . No need to spend several thousands of pounds buying antiques. The primary fact though is that you have to have a reason to want an illegal gun in the first place. What is the reason? Establish that and we are getting somewhere Banning things is a knee jerk reaction but it never works, Drugs are banned, well that's worked really well hasn't it? I suspect a lot of these illegal guns are carried by drug dealers
  15. Where crime is concerned you cannot create a vacuum. Knife crime is way worse than gun crime and the victims much more plentiful. Over 1200 knife related incidents in London alone in the first four months of this year.
  16. Its about deflecting the blame, they can't stop the real problem so they create a cover story. All very sad really Yes but you don't need an FAC to possess them
  17. As Jaymo says, Probably other countries in Europe where you can do it
  18. The Trafalgar meeting at Bisley every year is all competitions for junk historical weapons.
  19. In reality, none of us on here would ever be likely to get selected as a candidate for Cons or Lab and who would want to be a Lib Dem?
  20. Why is it six months for Abu Dhabi? I thought that the six months thing was only an American thing because of the way their visa system works
  21. F-F-S you really couldn't make that up
  22. The stories about Uber cabs in London just go from bad to worse, quite bizarre stories really. I have never used them so I cannot speak from experience but both my sons used them and said they were appalling. The deal is the driver subscribes to an app on his phone which he uses in his own car to pick up passengers. Who is actually driving the car and what car they are driving nobody knows, all you know is they have possession of the phone with the app on it. But he may well have borrowed or been rented the phone for the night. Very strange practices going on.
  23. Or you could call them an Uber and let the Taliban take them home for half the price of a taxi. No insurance and bald tyres but Hey! its so cheap
  24. Like Scully Breast them and freeze, most would go for dog food these days because my OH doesn't like pigeon. You can't give away pigeons in my experience.
