Yes I am a sucker for any old car with a big engine and the right badge . My sons made me promise to give up the bikes and I did reluctantly because I knew they were right.

Hull cartridge.... is someone taking the peee
Vince Green replied to a topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
It sounds very much to me like they are intended for American partridges. Very different style of shooting -
Good thinking!

I have to give people job references all the time, I don't charge for that. If the doctors don't want to do it they should refuse and that would put the whole silly idea to bed very quickly The thing that worries me is that anyone who has a problem won't go to the doctor now.

You try doing an emergency stop with one of those on the front on one side and a real tyre on the other side in the wet. You will spin the car around. In any case, its illegal to have different size wheels on the same axle and a lot of these wheels are often not only thinner they are a different diameter as well. They are only intended to be used to limp the car to a place of safety.
-
There was a car I used to see regularly, it was a mum who parked in our cul de sac when she was dropping her kids off at the nearby school. She had on of those wheels on her car for months. I wonder how you would stand on your insurance if you had an accident.
-
People should be made aware that the space saver wheel is only intended to be used as a way of getting the car back to a place of safety or repair. Its not a driving wheel, you see cars driving round on them for weeks, months sometimes

My cousin's OH was an RAC patrol man for many, many, years. I remember him saying many times that most breakdowns were simply down to basic maintenance not being done. Cars being run with no oil or water, knackered plugs or belts.etc At least the MOT makes them do safety checks
-
I think an MOT is a very cheap way of having your car checked over to make sure its safe to drive. If you put it into a garage to have the same level of inspection it would cost a lot more. I think we should go down the German route and make the test more comprehensive, covering things like wheel alignment. One of the big hidden benefits of an MOT these days is that it records the mileage history.

Honda CR-V Spare Key .... Help Needed PLEASE.
Vince Green replied to marsh man's topic in Motoring Section
If its a 2008 its not too bad but very modern cars have much more complicated systems that generate multiple random codes and people like Timpsons are way out of the game. You don't plug them in the cars are keyless. People don't realise the implications However, lose one and its an unmitigated nightmare, nobody can bypass the system to get you going, the door locks are keyless too. AA and RAC don't cover you for it so its around £300 recovery to a main agent then £4-500 to sort it plus £400 (typically) for a new key. -
Honda CR-V Spare Key .... Help Needed PLEASE.
Vince Green replied to marsh man's topic in Motoring Section
What ever you do make sure you get a spare key. The cost is outrageous if you lose the one you have -
It has been a buyers market for several years

If you were a police officer with a young family and a mortgage who uncovered evidence of a grooming gang what would you do? It would take a bit of thinking about

How will brexit effect shooting in the UK
Vince Green replied to Harnser's topic in General Shooting Matters
There are very strict international laws regarding air traffic control. If the EU tried anything that stupid they would cost all the airlines in the world billions and would be hung out to dry. Just more remoaner fiction -
I've said it on here before but I'm not sure people fully understood what I was saying. Corbyn is bone idle lazy, he doesn't get his hands dirty. He was my MP for nearly ten years, he does nothing. When was the last time you saw him on TV actually doing anything? visiting a school or a factory? meeting people? actually working for his wages?

She won't be if those nutcases get their hands on her

+1 and a BIG subliminal message goes out very loud and very clear to other MPs, the police, council officials etc. Rock the boat at your peril

How will brexit effect shooting in the UK
Vince Green replied to Harnser's topic in General Shooting Matters
The ECJ is part of the problem, its not independent of the EU's political machinery -
Absolutely typical of Labour, shoot the messenger. She deserves a medal.

How will brexit effect shooting in the UK
Vince Green replied to Harnser's topic in General Shooting Matters
Yes exactly what I said, Blair banned ALL handguns. "The handgun ban" as we know it was when ALL handguns were banned by Blair. Up till then there was a lifeline. And you have to remember it was Blair that was doing the campaigning when Major weakly bowed to pressure from Blair. Major had originally said he would wait for the recommendations of the enquiry. Blair drove it -
How will brexit effect shooting in the UK
Vince Green replied to Harnser's topic in General Shooting Matters
Excuse me, the handgun ban was Tony Blair. John Major was forced to say he would consider a ban on certain CF pistols but only because Blair was campaigning hard for a total ban. Major never enacted it. Blair did, the week after he got in. The handgun ban was Blair. I was there in the thick of it -
There is a degree of truth in this, sitting in a layby, gearbox in neutral, handbrake on but engine still running to keep the aircon on, you can be legitimately nicked for talking on the phone. One poor man got caught parked in a motorway services car park, he appealed but the conviction but the conviction was upheld. Engine on = conviction, even on private property. Sitting in heavy traffic at 8.30 in the morning, no seatbelt, eating toast and talking on your phone, just carry on, nobody cares

Its probably not near enough to you but Edradour near Pitlochry is regarded as the best, (ie most entertaining), tour. No doubt there are many who will disagree, there are many contenders. Some are industrial factories, my advice is research the small quirky ones

.410 magtech case primers?
Vince Green replied to Seadog1408's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Its a grey area, a primer is a primer, it shouldn't be a problem but I know others have had problems. Its not illegal to possess primers so anyone can buy them for you.
