  1. That's true for a lot of EU countries but is that good for us or just them taking advantage of us because they can?
  2. how many people do you imagine 'accidently' don't swipe everything through? It is basically an honesty system and I am very cynical of the general public's honesty
  3. Nobody actually gives a Flying 'Fig' about Ireland, we don't and the EU doesn't. Its virtually a non country, they don't really do anything, they don't produce much and very few British people even visit the place. Its surprising really, when you consider how big it is and how close it is, just how little we have to do with them.
  4. You only need a black and white one for this job
  5. You live in Leicester, you can make your own
  6. The figure I have seen suggested 1.5 million
  7. A good speech, starting to take the fight back to them at last. I noticed that during the speech the FTSE went up nearly 1.5% which means the city liked it a lot
  8. They eat better than rural foxes, all the bins to raid, KFC boxes etc plus people feed them. They don't even have to go looking. Fox Heaven
  9. They stroll around here like they own the place, they have no fear of humans because humans leave them alone. Nobody is going to touch an urban fox.
  10. They need a reality check on where the money comes from to maintain the rural landscape they take for granted.
  11. A Vincent is not an easy bike to put back together even if it was you who took it apart. But in bits, depending on condition, it could have fetched £20K, maybe more at a classic bike auction or if advertised on Vincent Owners website. Its not hard to sell old bikes or parts, there is always an owners club. My mate had a Velocette Venom Thruxton, I bet he wishes he still had it. Mind you I can't speak, I sold a BSA A65 Spitfire Mk3 for £200 about 1974 because my then girlfriend wanted me to get a car.
  12. Yet more goalpost moving, I didn't like Chequers but the reaction to it from Tusk is tediously predictable, butwhy should we care? They sell us at least £70 billion more than we sell them. Some people say its £100 billion, so how is the single market doing us any favours? Its not at all Their nationals are over here working cash in hand, claiming tax credits etc and sending the money back home, millions of them. How many of our nationals are working over there? Their fishing fleets take between £6-8 billion worth of fish out of our waters without giving anything back at all, not even a thank you. That figure assumes they are sticking to their quotas and you would have to be mad to believe that. We do actually pay them in cash the £350 million a week it said on the Brexit bus every week, that was not a lie. What do we get for that money? certainly not respect
  13. As a Londoner that's very much the impression you get, and white flight is still going on a pace mainly because house prices mean the youngsters can't buy property in the capital. The older generation retire away to the Shires. Now that benefits are capped housing benefit won't cover the rent in London so lots of people on benefits are struggling too. There is a lot of changes going on.
  14. don't get haemeriod cream and Araldite mixed up, one you stick up your bum and the other sticks up your bum
  15. Oh I don't know, a leg over in exchange for a leg up? It would hardly be the first time would it?
  16. Even if she was abducted doesn't mean she wasn't killed later, maybe hundreds of miles away. It would be down to the reason why she was abducted. However, poor young girls are ten a penny in places like India or Romania and nobody would go looking for them. Paedos would have easy pickings with little or no risk in those places The only thing is, they are not little blonde girls with blue eyes. I think her appearance is the key reason for her being selected. There is an often quoted suspicion that a man photographed her on the beach a couple of days before but that man has never been identified. Other holiday makers on the beach at the time independently confirmed that it happened. If you accept the possibility that she was abducted, it would be a high value / well planned abduction which does increase the possibility that somebody wanted her 'to adopt' as their child. My theory? she's a rich man's concubine or a prostitute now somewhere in the middle east. She was snatched precisely because she was fair skinned and blonde by traffickers
  17. Actually, that had already crossed my mind!
  18. That's the same for any industrial process. The factories are only profitable if they keep running non stop.
  19. Lidl and Aldi could do with more checkouts, its my only gripe with them
  20. Never ever let the other party's insurance fix your car, you have no contractual agreement with them and you will have no redress. In fact never even speak to them, you might say something or agree to something that compromises your claim. Even worse it may be a claims management company and you are getting scammed.
  21. Did they give sedatives to their daughter? I thought that was a claim made by the Portugese detective in his book?
  22. Because she was such a pretty child the possibility of her being abducted for money has always been the only really plausible explanation and probably the reason why the investigation has continued. If the police believed she was simply dead they would have dropped it years ago. There must be something that would justify continuing. There were a number of near miss attempted abductions in that resort in the weeks before she went missing. Its still a very strange case, whether we will ever know the truth is doubtful.
  23. That wouldn't be at all unusual round here
  24. My nearest Supermarket, within walking distance, is Sainsburys. I struggle to believe they are still in business. Aldi and Lidl although less refined hit the right spot and quality is often better. The interesting thing is their own brand stuff is often patently obviously made by the primary supplier. A key example is Weetabix, the biscuit is trademarked and patented. Nobody else can make it, but Aldi/ Lidl Wheat Bix is half the price. Boxes are the same just different print, internal packaging is exactly the same. Why pay more?
