Every private owner, syndicate and flying school I can think of, is not only a Limited Company, but also VAT registered. Because of the fuel claim back, maintenance and the occasional aircraft purchase they would be daft not to be. So its not really relevant to General Aviation. What is relevant, and has been glossed over, is that it was stated that Fuel, Drink, Tobacco Duty and Flight Levies will be looked at for the October budget. This was a scare story followed by a little tax hike to make us feel good. The real changes will come at the next budget in October. Lets face it, the government has not had enough time to assess the situation and formulate meaningfull cuts right now. This was a muscle flexing exercise, putting their stamp on "their" government.

Thats a view I would certainly keep quiet about, especially where I live in the Midlands, and most definately if you wanted to remain healthy... I am lucky I have decent paying work - I know a lot who are very well qualified and there is nothing. Job Centres have nothing and agencies are closing. For every job that comes up there is a massive queue of people, mostly non-UK residents, who will work for well below the legal minimum wage. But even they are getting fed up with the lack of underpaid work and are going home.

There are certainly people on benefits through no fault of there own - jobs are not easy to come by. However, there is a queue of people at the Channel Tunnel, and Airport Arrival Areas who will be on benefits tomorow, having not paid one penny into any system, let alone the UK one. If that isn't stopped as a priority above all other cuts in public spending, today, then all faith in this coalition immediately is gone. The UK is the only country in Europe when we give our hard earned cash to a bunch of people who just turn up and hold their hands out. Try doing that in any other country! That's where Billions will be saved - immediately....

You can express clear any cheque - it costs but it is done overnight. The 3-5 day scam is universal, whether or not you do a bank transfer or deposit cash or a cheque. The only exception I know is lloyds. When I receive a beggging phone call from my son I pick up the phone and arrange a transfer - he can draw that money within minutes- but he also has a lloyds account. With my business bank, I phone them to transfer money to my personal account, that takes 3 working days, which we all know is cr*p as the operator enters it into the computer and its immediately gone. Bank computers all shake hands after midnight and the receiving bank has it in their holding account for 3 days, before giving it back to you. Every day there is zillions of pounds in this holding account, which is used to make money on the markets. Do you see any of it? I get a pathetic 0.1% interest on my current acount - so I guess not.

or rats.......... They can get in and out of my rat traps - eating the bait and waiting for the next night when I re-bait. Not many of them escape the missus though - she has the patience to sit around for a couple of hours waiting for them to appear and go after the wild bird seed or veg we have stored in the garage. When her S200 spits its a guaranteed hole in one.....

A whole lot of arguements in that one - it depends what you want it for. Clay shooting - will it be DTL, Skeet or ESP? Will you want to go rough shooting with it? When you have the money take someone with you who knows a little and go for something that suits what you want to do with it and one that fits. No point buying a budget gun to find you have to spend £200 getting it to fit. So ignore names/makes etc. They all shoot straight - go for a gun that is not too worn or looks too tatty, but most importantly fits you and the purpose you want it for.

Thats interesting - I have the same problem but cope with it by blotting out the target - with its inherrant problems as with such a large diameter on the moderator you can miss a change of direction of the bird easily. Do you have a pic of the block you fitted please?

Had two passports for years. My job used to take me all over the Middle East and Africa and some countries took take an extreme dim view if you tried to gain entry with certain middle eastern country visa stamps in your passport. For example trying going into Iran with an Iraqi visa stamp would lead you straight back into the departure lounge or going back into Saudi after visiting Israel would leave you standing at the airport with a cancelled Saudi Visa and a long wait until you sorted out the situation. Things are not as bad now, but if you travel a lot on business to this type of country, 2 passports help avoid a lot of hassle.

Mossberg 410 work for me - its as quiet as you want to be, however, the range on the air-rifle is greater than a shotgun - whatever it is. If its just sneaking up on rabbits you want then stick to a decent moderated air-rifle, you can drop a couple of rabbits before they are spooked - so work on your stalking and approach technique. I have a favourite spot and have to do a slow crawl to get decent close - but when I am in position a cammo net over me and I can lay for a while, picking them off as they emerge.

Because we are shooting as a last resort Pest/Vermin control. Shooting them means you have exhausted all other means of chasing them off. Using a call to bring them to you is not chasing them off, therefore is breaking the conditions of the General Licence and leaves you wide open to prosecution by the Corvid Fan Club

My neighbour found a Collared Dove walking around in the field next to my house, someone had shot at it and only damaged a wing (missus blames me). Anyway my neighbour has had this thing about three weeks, and he reackoned it was getting near time to let it go. The missus just says to my mates wife that she hopes it stays away from my veg garden otherwise it was a wasted 3 weeks - I've got a new name now "the B*ast*rd from next door" and it looks like the bird is to become a perminent pet.

I loved the SLR for accuracy and punch. If someone was hiding behind a wall a few well placed shots punched a hole straight through. It was a heavy lump - used to strap two magazine together and that made up a good wack of weight, but there again it was being carried by fit people who didn't worry about the weight so much. Nowadays carrying my shotties over the fields does me in.

Its not a master key but a restricted profile key - that means only certain people/outlets can cut that key, but will not cut it because that specific key is registered to a person or company and you need permission in writing which the key cutter must retain. A restricted profile is just that, restricted, preventing unauthorised copying.

A moderated 410 with 3" cartridges 25 to 30 yards away is a mere "pop" in the background. Clean the moderator and you will have to "run it in" again - a moderator only works to full effect after you have shoved about 100 to 150 shots through it and it starts to get a bit of coking to to absorb the resonation.

I have waged war against magies & crows for the past few years and the song bird population in my garden has flourished. If magie shows his face and either me or the missus is at home, magie bites the dust. Crows are a bit more cautious and dont land too near the bird table, but a little help from the hushpower and they join the magies on Charlie's dinner table. Everyone has an opinion - and the Springwatch Team in my view is totally blinkered.

My missus always used 21g Comp x's due to a dodgy shoulder. Did a number of blind tests with her comparing the Express 24's and the Comp x's, Express 24's won every time for recoil smoothness. About 50 more pellets in the 24's as well, which may just up the score by one or two birds.

Anyone that falls for that deserves to be scammed - why on earth would you pay a deposit to look at a car? Bet the email has a Nigerian postmark and its from the same guy who wants to give me 10% of a 10million Naira fortune he has found, just for helping him pay for an airline ticket he needs so he can bring his pile of worthless money to the UK. Now, I do live in Spain 6 months of the year and have a genuine Toyota Prius to sell, 1 year old and a snip at £10,000 - its just parked outside a friends house but i'm sorry its locked up so you cant drive it, but it is under warranty for 2 more years. If you like the look of it just send me the payment in cash and I will make sure you get the keys and logbook by return post :(
