  1. i know, hard to believe isnt it even more shocking i stayed on and did a levels...
  2. first too numbers that came into my head that i could find on google
  3. thats the problem, insurance companies have to go by statistics im so sorry al4x, youre completely right as usual, youre knowledge in these things is much more in depth than mine. yes, none of the reasons i gave are valid, insurance companies arent paying anything out in claims, they keep it all so they can squander it on hookers and booze, and the last independant report i read which said 87% of car insurance premiums paid in are then paid out in claims (of £1,000,000 in premium paid the companys paid out about £870,000, leaving a profit of £130,000 to cover overheads, etc...) must have been complete lies, published by someone who wasnt independant at all, they were promised free car insurance for life or something i suppose! i really must apologise for wasting all you chaps time by posting on this subject, i mean, what would i know about why premiums are rising, ive only been working day in and day out in insurance since i left school (almost 10 years ago...) ps and if you really want a shock, look at what your insurance premiums were 5 years ago and how much they dropped the last few years
  4. that would be right, insurance has gone up, same as everything has - price of booze, groceries... the more claims that happen in an area mean that (risk wise) anyone living in that area is more likely to have a claim; example is 100 people are standing in a bar, 80 people are wearing shirts, 20 are wearing t shirts. so if you pick a random man standing in the bar, is he more likely to be wearing a shirt or a t-shirt?? as for being penalised, well thats how insurance works. its a pool, all the money paid into the pool should cover all the money paid out in claims, so the more that gets paid out the more has to come in.... if you really want to blame someone for rising prices i can give you a few to lay the blame on. garages that charge £30 an hour labour on top of parts for repairs, ambulance chasing solicitors who specialise in injury claims (saw 3 people claim £14,000 for whiplash after a car reversed out of a parking space and gently bumped theirs...), and accident management companies who claim they will deal with your non fault claim for free (and charge insurance companies £300 a week for your courtesy car, £1000 a week for their time for dealing with your claim, and stick the arm in to get you as much personal injury claims as possible), and thats not to mention the general public who, at the time of the accident, are usually "oh no im fine, its only a minor scratch, dont worry about it", then a few hours later (after speaking to a friend) it turns into "oh he rammed me and i bumped my head and ive got whiplash, you know how it takes these injuries a few hours to show up..." if youre not happy with who youre with, go to gocompare or someone else then. but i do always find it laughable that people bleat on about loyalty yet will change insurance companies at the drop of a hat for as little as £5 - yes a fiver (and i saw one yesterday do it). why should insurance companies show loyalty to customers when they dont show it back?
  5. yep, quinn direct and the rspca
  6. i would but theres two feo's and ones a complete ****, he seems to be looking for a reason to revoke someones cert, and im not gonna be that person
  7. pow letter? or just a demob letter?
  8. both my shotgun and rifles say sporting purpose and vermin control, dont mention anything about humane dispatch - is NI different then?!
  9. no problems with my mags, except what i said about the guide rail, and it was a gunshop owner told me about that so i presume its quite a regular thing. the trigger is quite heavy, not sure what the pull is but ive scared myself a couple of times when taking up the pressure on a cz or an aschutz and the guns fire before i wanted it to, due to the lighter trigger  im tempted to get a rifle basix trigger for mine to lighten it, i really would prefer a two stage trigger; having said that it depends what sort of range youre going to be using this at - the only time ive had trouble with the trigger is long range shots (300 yards on targets before anyone starts), up to 150/200 ive never noticed it
  10. 0845 850 0845 or 0300 1234 999
  11. probably turn out to be a cam model, looking you to vote for her or join a site or something to stop her getting in trouble - all of which requires your credit card details best bit is to wait til they offer to give you a free show to get you to join, then either demand a free show to convince you or get free pics... then once you get it block them - may also be wise to tell them the site wont accept your card details but youll send them the cash via western union, that usually gets their attention yes, ive done it, but i only ever do it to teach them a lesson to stop trying to scam me  ???
  12. speak to toolazydecoy on here, he camo'd my hmr and evil elvis's .222, theres pics on here about it, he did a cracking job and very reasonable price too. as rimfire says it depends how you view your guns. if youre worried about resale value then camo painting the gun might affect it, so make sure its only the stock (at least theyre easy to replace) if you decide to do it. i couldnt care less what the resale value of my guns are, i doubt id ever sell my hmr (too much paperwork for it ) and the only time id get rid of one would be if something went wrong with it, so i was happy enough getting mine painted, plus after it was done i was actually offered more for the gun that what i originally paid brand new
  13. no bother, be interesting to see what you think  i know at up to 100 yards i didnt have any problem, though you need to be spot on with the width of the beam at times - too wide and the view is very pixelated and hard to make anything out, too thin and everythings too bright and green and too hard to make it out youre right about scanning, a torch gives a far better field of view though the lasers far more compact
  14. heard of it, as daft as it sounds different types of gun give different types of vibrations, so a scope designed for one type of gun could be shaken apart on another - i remember something saying some US manufacturer wouldnt cover scopes used on moderated centrefires as the moderator changed the vibrations the scope was subject too
  15. i found when i used one that you had to tighten the beam up at longer range, other wise it was too dispersed to see reflections back unless youre looking through the scope  what sort of range were you having trouble spotting them at? and what do you mean by identifying them - do you mean you could see reflections but couldnt work out if it was a bunny or not?
  16. cheers mate, but im trying to lose weight now im off the cigs  i have fullbore's, shot shots and i may have a number for lee too... ???
  17. im with teal, wait a few years until theres a trend develops showing wood pigeon decline THEN panic  having said that im not too worried, on a 2 hour drive up the country on sunday i saw only about 2 dozen pigeons, but hundreds of crows (crows, pigeons, jackdaws...), so if push comes to shove ill just paint the pigeon decoys black
  18. pictures, location and a loan of £1000 from someone please!!!
  19. thats true, over here if the traffic branch stop another cop theyll go over the car with a fine tooth comb to do you for something, happened once or twice with my ex. she used to hide her id card and tell them she worked in a chippy, i thought it was strange til she told me why, though i can still remember as a kid being stopped with my dad or uncle in the car, if the id didnt get you through without hassle the threat of kicking the cops/squaddies ***** did
  20. go for it im never lucky enough to get offers like that, the only ones i get when online are about getting ripped in 8 weeks
  21. or you could get a cello case and not have to worry about breaking your gun down
