  1. the keys were lying in the passenger footwell and he still got done for it
  2. i have the 917v mate, standard non thumbhole version, theyre an excellent piece of kit. need to be kept clean (i give mine a full clean after every 30 or so shots) but accuracy is unbelieveable - on my first day zeroing i was getting clover leaf and same hole groups at 100 yards, and at 150 yards it was putting the rounds exactly where i wanted everyone seems to advise to go for cz's but im definitely glad i went for a marlin, any cz ive held or used has felt too light to me only con's are they usually dont come screw cut, also the magazine guide bar (hard to explain unless youre holding a gun, but its the bit of metal that sticks down like a guide rail for the mag ) can require a bit of adjustment to hold the magazine in the right position to feed the rounds, but its very simple to do sort, you just bend it forwards slightly, took me 2 seconds to do it
  3. from what i was told simply being in the car and having your keys in your possession is enough to get done, i remember dealing with a guy once who'd been done for it because he was sleeping in the back seat of his car while drunk
  4. oh well, never would have happened if she had provided the sample for the breathalyser - and by the looks of things she never got around to giving them one either Ms Somerville was arrested in July 2008 after being found asleep in her car. She had been detained for failing to provide a sample for a breath test but denied any wrongdoing. The Crown Prosecution Service said the charges were later dropped due to insufficient evidence - bbc link! so there you go, if you want to get off a drunk driving/drunk in charge conviction simply refuse to give a sample to police then get a cop to throw you face first into a floor, then theyll be too busy rushing you to a+e to worry about how hammered you are
  5. nice one, youll like it i guarantee it

    Stress

option? hmm lets see, im 26 yrs old and buying a house on my own, so i need a certain wage each month. i dont have a car (couldnt afford one anyway) so im quite limited in my career choices, and although my pay is **** its higher than what id be on if i worked in sainsbury's, or the local plastics factory, etc, (which seems to be about the only jobs going at the moment). so yes, i suppose youre right, i do have a few choices. i could leave here, start working elsewhere on a lower pay, not be able to afford to pay the bills, lose the house, become homeless... or i can cause a row in work over the treatment im receiving, which will then mean i wont finish these exams, be made redundant/fired over some technicality, then go down the sainsburys route again or i could do what a load of my mates have done, go on the sick, claiming they cant work and get paid to sit on their ***** all day long doing nothing, though i have a disability which would prevent me doing that - its called pride are those the choices youre talking about mate? cos they dont seem like much of a choice to me! ps yes, stress and mental illness arent the same thing, however stress can lead on to mental illness
  7. then thats one of the few things we will agree on (even if its meant as a jibe) as dublin is a complete ****hole, although i dont know why you brought it up, you might as well be talking about paris for the relevance dublin has to me, saying as how its the capital of a foreign country
  8. yep totally acceptable, if people werent so concerned about their "rights" and more worried about the consequences of breaking the law (as im sure refusing to co-operate is illegal, isnt it?) then society wouldnt be in the state its in now :look: anyway i think its time i started to keep a list of things you hate kdubya. in the last couple of weeks alone youve been very vocal about wanting to kill cats, rottweilers, and now the police are being hammered (again). what happened, did a police rottweiler bite you once when it was chasing a cat burglar? or are you just pw's own victor meldrew? and ps the bit about pound signs was tongue in cheek, as youve yet again failed to notice (but lets not let that get in the way of a good argument, eh? )
  9. yep i did watch it, and as for facts mung, well im sorry but youre not being very observant, i thought i did use them? are the facts not that she was sleeping in her car and refused to give a breath sample (so not co-operating with police and possibly drunk), was taken into the station, and was slammed face first into the floor by a cop who was later done for it in fact the only non factual things were that i speculated that she had given the cops a bit of aggro whilst refusing to give a sample and so was dragged into the station, and then i said it is debateable whether a drunk driver/drunk in charge deserved to be face planted onto a concrete floor or not. so can you please explain how i have twisted the facts in this case, as im baffled?!
  10. she refused to co-operate and didnt give a breath sample, i doubt the conversation went "can we have a breath sample?", "eh, no you cant, sorry", "oh ok then come to the station", "righto, off we go!" im sure there was a bit more aggro in there than that! now whether as a drunk driver/in charge of vehicle who refused to co-operate with the police she deserved to have her face smashed into the floor is debateable, i know a couple of people who have had family killed by drunk drivers who would argue that its nothing close to what she deserves, but the cop broke the law and he got done for it, seemples. i do have to wonder how much crime would go down if people thought they were going to get a hiding rather than get a slap on the wrist and half an hours community service from some liberal judge actually no, i dont have to wonder, 10 years ago there was very very little crime or anti social behaviour in my town. now the place is full to the brim of druggies, burglar's, travellers, etc. simple reason? the guys with balaclava's and baseball bats kept the place in order, now theyre all retired! ps and she possibly wasnt done because the police tried to cover it up "you let it drop and we wont charge you" sort of thing, but she probably saw pound sisgns floating in front of her eyes after the swelling went down :good:
  11. ive yet to see a fox shot with an unloaded gun either :hmm:
  12. Ms Somerville had been detained for failing to provide a sample for a breath test from that link you posted kdubya, sounds like shed been difficult

    Take Away

bit confused, whats the poll question?! :hmm:
  14. in latvia last year they just skinned and gutted then divided it, didnt worry about pinning it out with sticks, etc; the only thing they did which wasnt "as usual" was cutting parts off (male) as aparantly the testosterone spoils the meat
  15. OH ****!! theres a load of that stuff growing at the side of my dog pen, didnt know what it was, id better sort that out asap then!!
  16. you didnt shoot an expensive racing pigeon that was on its way to winning a race... what you shot, infact, was a racing pigeon that has gone feral from a loft happens quite regularly, and youre doing the pigeon boys a favour by getting rid as these ferals can distract and divert "proper" (ie still living in a loft) racing pigeons, making them go feral too. and theres no point ringing the owner and telling him you shot this bird (or telling him you found the body of his bird near a quarry after you disturbed a large peregrin falcon, whilst rabbit hunting, as once hapened me... ) as you dont want to advertise to too many people that youre a gun owner, plus as racers turn feral all the time youd only be disturbing him with unwanted calls - and why would a racer drop into a decoy pattern if it was too busy winning a race?? ??? best to take the ring off (cut leg if you have to...), leave the body for mr fox, dump the ring in the bin at home, and congratulate yourself on a job well done
  17. it was one of these, smuggled over and smuggled back http://www.majorsurplus.com/The-Fat-Bastar...ury-P13328.aspx well, ryanair wont carry guns and i wasnt going over there totally unarmed... ???
  18. i didnt feel right again til i went out after wild boar in -15 degree bear/wolf infested forests, armed only with an old baikal, 4 solid slug shells and a knife... ???
  19. the current one doesnt shoot but is starting to show an interest, even helping me pick out a new shotgun shes a bit squemish but i might buy an air rifle and see if she takes to it two of my previous ones were into guns, though not hunting - one was a cop, one night i dropped my wallet in the car and when i reached down for it i picked up a glock the other one was from latvia, and ill tell you nothing quite bruises your ego like your gf telling you that your .22lr's a bit small , as that the first gun she was taught to strip and shoot was an AK47!
  20. dont know which cz's ive used, but any of them have felt too light to be, even with scope/bipod/sling/mod all fitted oh well, each to his own!

    Stress

oh wise up and dont talk ****! plenty of people dont have the option of moving jobs, especially in the current climate, and so have to stick it out - plenty of employers know this and use it to their advantage, i know my company do and plenty of other friends are in the same boat - ive had the threat of redundancy hanging over my head for the last 2 years, and it usually gets carted out when it suits them, especially when i enquire about the pay rise i was promised 3 years ago and never got (which was incidentally to bring my pay up to the SAME level as the women in the office who do the same job as me, who all are on a HIGHER pay band than me but some have worked here LESS time than me). why am i still here? cos im in the middle of doing exams through work and have to put up with it (and keep my nose clean) til i get them and can escape
  22. i found with mine i had to give it a full clean every 50ish shots to keep the accuracy spot on, by full clean i mean bore brush and patches til it was spotless, and by spot on accuracy i mean clover leafs at 100 yards and dead centre of the bull at 150 yards when i was shooting straight having said that mine was brand new and i doubt the barrel is settled in yet, things might change after its settled in
  23. shot shot grew up in the countryside and i grew up in a small village with some family farming, so im usually at ease with them too, just a bit cautious; richie (who i was lamping with) grew up on a farm and usually takes the p*** outta me for being careful, but when i said to him the other night "richie those sucklers are running towards us" i turned around and all i saw was his boot soles disappearing through the hedge
