That again is entirely their choice and I don't blame them (but then we know just how choosy some keepers can be as to what they shoot 😉) I have nothing to do with game shooting, went once and didn't like it so never tried it again.

And I have seen a group of Magpies take 8 or 9 ducklings from a nest with the duck unable to do anything about it - and this was in a tiny garden area in the middle of a large hospital. My main vermin control perm is parkland and the owners do not want Jays shot although Magpies are allowed if on the feeders or the shooter deems the shot to be safe (there are members of the public within 40-50 yards most of the time so opportunities are rare), the number and variety of songbirds has increased massively by controlling the grey menace so the parks policy seems to be working. On top of all this - I simply have no intention of shooting a Jay and gain more pleasure watching them on the feeder than I could ever hope to have if I shot one.
-
Debatable, plus there are far less Jays than Magpies.

Some more pics would be good + how much does your RFD charge?

Cannot begin to understand the pain you must be feeling, this will slowly fade away but the memories will live on.My thoughts are with you.

I'm doing the same as you - exercising my right to voice my opinion on this subject. If I feel the need to question another members loyalty to field sports I will start another thread and not troll this one.

Thank you, every day's a school day!!

That looks superb, no expert but will the Squirrels smell the bait? I suppose if you leave some on the platform they will soon learn where the rest is?
-
So the Hares are not wild? If you enjoy this kind of thing then crack on, personally I find it cruel and totally unnecessary.
-
In comparison to their black and white cousins they are a drop in the ocean. I love to see them so I would not consider shooting one.
-
Shooting Jays is a massive no no in my book, see them on my various perms but not interested in shooting them.

Not criticizing you Sir - just in case you think I am. Was genuinely interested in what the Komado brings to the party. I have a Weber and the prices in the UK are the same here, ridiculous. I'm such a tart that I buy the instant BBQ's whenever I can so my Weber doesn't get dirty - drives my Mrs up the wall!!.
-
But this is not in the wild, those birds are not hunting to feed themselves - they are hunting for the pleasure of the owners.
-
That's me out then, I'll stick with my Weber.
-
How does it differ from a normal BBQ may I ask?

Good luck with a diagnosis and cure, I think an infection would show in the blood test so I doubt that it's a tooth/dental issue. Another blood test might be worth a punt just in case any infection was in it's early stages and didn't show though?
-
A lot will depend on the weather, the availability of natural food and your bait but the feeders look very good - good luck next Saturday, with any luck I will be out doing the same. Did you get many offers to your initial post?

You may need some kind of lift up hinged lid on those or small birds are going to binge on them.

That's not the owners problem though, that's purely down to whoever sold him the gun. If it cannot be repaired then legally they must repair/refund/replace the gun. Far too many people get hung up on warranty cop outs from dealers, check your rights - they are the most powerful in Europe. On top of that, if the owner paid by credit card then the card company are equally liable.
-
KOFS do a junior stock for around £80, give SGC and make sure prices have not gone up.

The warranty may have expired but your CONSUMER RIGHTS have not, your warranty is a drop in the ocean compared to the 2015 consumer rights act. The gun is clearly in breach of the law in so much as it has not "lasted a reasonable time" and possibly also broken the "fit for purpose" stipulation as well.As long as you have not caused the damage then the dealer is legally bound to repair or replace the gun - end of. Tell them you are returning the gun under the consumer rights act, they can ask you to prove that the gun has failed due to a manufacturing fault in which case you have to get a written report from a gunsmith stating that the gun was faulty - there will be a charge for this but as long as the report agrees with you then the dealer has to reimburse you for the cost. Don't let them fob you off, again, as long as you did not cause the damage they have no choice but to sort the problem out, should they refuse then you have to write to them and put them on notice that you are going to take them to court.

A public thank you Mice, you have been a rock for me over the last year or so, your posts have kept me entertained and feeling like I'm out there doing it. Any sport that brings like minded people together is, at the end of the day, more than the sum of it's parts when benefits go far beyond the sport itself. I appreciate every minute that you have spent with me and my woes. You, Sir, are a true gentleman.

Great minds think alike (but then fools seldom differ!!) This gun is NOT out of warranty. If you bought it new from a Dealer?
-
Not for me I'm afraid, far too many animals being "mauled" before escaping.
-
Easily cured if you plan to keep the gun long term - copper grease I would imagine would prevent corrosion.
