  1. Ive got the 7dayshop binos and a pair of Nikon sportsters I paid £100 for, also get to use a range of other optics including Opticron, Zeiss, Leica, etc. The 7dayshop or good, but they are noticeably inferior optically to the Nikons, I would put hem in the £50 bracket, so although a great buy at £20, if you have £100 to spend get something else.
  2. ITS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU USE BAIKAL CATRIDGES YOU GO A BIT MUTTON JEFF
  3. Started my shooting life with those, I inherited a load because nobody else would use them. We had a large importer in Kent at the time so lots of people tried them, they were banned from local clay grounds, possibly due to noise. I mainly shot them through a spanish sbs that had a massive recoil pad fitted, found them excellent on flight pond duck.
  4. Option is there to join a club that shoots at a place like Bisley, if you shoot a couple of times a year its enough to keep your rifles (HMR would be a problem) until you hopefully get more land. Long drive from your neck of the woods, but accommodation is cheap if you want to stay overnight. My club fees are £100 / year and that includes the range fees for 6 or 7 sessions and access to a clubhouse.
  5. So anybody that doesn't shoot for pest control is an ****? I take it you roll all the wildfowlers and rough shooters in to that? Most of us hunt for the pot, not for pest control, and on my small shoot we have already stopped shooting.

    Half Life 2 .

If it uses steam the game is authorised online, so if you lent it to a mate its now fixed to his account.
  7. They do list hourly prices for ranges, it isn't an option I was aware of. http://www.nsc-bisley.co.uk/common/files/rangeoffice/RangesMarkersCharges.pdf

  9. I was shooting on Short Siberia on Saturday. According to the marker next to us it will be 100 yards only next year, there will be 200 yard shoots on century, think he said alternate weeks.

    pc problems

The from address in an email can be set to any account, so if I have your email address I can make emails appear to come from you. Was the bounced email sent to somebody in your contacts, or just a random person? Try an online virus scan http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/
  11. To be honest I wouldn't worry about what it is, just how it performs. Its most likely out of the same factory as JSR,Tasco, etc, but the optics could be used by just about any Chinese brand out there. Some use Jap lenses, others use Chinese or other far east makers. As its not branded theres no way of saying what model, even if you find something similar looking the internals could be totally different. As long as you happy for the price you paid alls good.
  12. According to the info on crucials site there there should be 3 slots, each capable of taking up to a 1Gb stick of RAM.

    what torch

I currently have Eagletac P20C2 LED Lenser P7 Fenix P3D Maglite ROP (custom build) Out of that lot the fenix is by far the best balance of build quality, power, price, and longevity. So much so that I use fenix as my tag on forums. If I was in the market for another pocket torch I wouldn't hesitate to gt a fenix, the the Eagletac and LED lenser wouldnt be on my shopping list. I would seriously consider changing from CR123A to AA eneloops and recharge.
  14. Is yours the 3" or 3 1/2" magnum? Have done a bit more research into using steel if I am reading BASCs guidance correctly I can use steel (not high performance) in any semi as long as less than 1/2 choke abd the obvious chamber limitations. Soo looking at more 2nd hand options in 3" magnum with multichoke. Read you comments in the other thread, where did you see the Beretta AL390 in Kent?

    Wanted chronograph

I've used a combo on all my airguns, also added the pc interface cable http://www.chronoscopes.com/ great company to deal with, and repaired it for a couple of quid after an unfortunate accident.
  16. Yep I make bread as well, picked up a breadmaker from freecycle, but I also do some hand made, dont bother with bread mix its simple to do it yourself. Quick recipe for soda bread, no yeast so mix and chuck in oven 500g of plain flower 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda 1 teaspoon of salt (fine sea salt is best) 400ml of buttermilk, or use natural live yogurt if you cant get buttermilk splash of normal milk i necessary Preheat oven to 200C Get a big bowl and sift the flower and bicarb in to it stir in salt stir in buttermilk mix with you hands, it should be consistently mixed and slightly sticky kneed for a few minutes form into a ball Dust a baking sheet with flower then chuck bread on to it an bake for 40-45 mins Bread should rise in oven so give it room.
  17. Visited Forseys yesterday, his advice was get a Hatsan for wildfowling. Have to say i was actually impressed with feal and build quality of the plastic one. It actually mounted very well and felt reasuringly solid. I am very temped with the asking price of £370, and hes resonably close so getting any problems sorted shouldnt be a problem.
  18. I would be inclined to go with either Autonational or Autoaid depending on what type of cover you want. Several friends use the insure and claim back system and havent had any problems, this is via autonational. Some info http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/roadside-recovery including reviews from people that have used the service. Other option , if you shop in tesco ypou can get RAC chep uisng clubcard, or AA are on cahsback sites. As an extra bit of info a friend mystery shopped the AA, but on the AAs behalf. him and a couple of coleagues did every patrol in the UK, and I helped out with a couple. Have to say they did impress, and no problems with anybody trying to do a deal on things like batterys.
  19. If you fancy trying android on the cheap Orange do a bargain handset called the san francisco, its available pay as you go for £80 using some discount schemes. Its a good way to dabble with android without spending a fortune. Various info http://android.modaco.com/category/453/zte...ade-modaco-com/
  20. have heard good things about the A303, would an older one be likely to have steel proofing? I sort of lost track of whats to be avoided when it comes to steel
  21. Hi all, after a bit of advice. I usually shoot a rather old Spanish SbS with quiet a bit of choke, but have recently picked up a bit of ground where we get passing duck and geese. Being a good chap I cant use lead on them, and I dont fancy putting steel through my current guns. So I could do with getting something thats steel proofed, and I had some success with a semi a few years ago. Budget is around £300, prefer multichoke, 3" magnum, got to be steel proofed. New (pondering Hatsan), or used (at least I could get my money back), what should I be lloking for? I am based in Kent and probably heading to John forseys at some point over the next few days, just wondered what should be on the look for list. Cheers Jon
  22. You need to try before you buy. A good place to check out various optical kits is bird watching reserves. Some wildfowl and wetland trust places have optical shops, have seen a few smll local reserves that hve visiting optical retailers. Kay optical visit a reserve near me and sell used kt. Ps. I am happy with my Nikon sporters (£100), but would lvove my mates Leicas (£900), just cant justify the cash.
  23. While visiting th inlaws escaped to this shop http://www.fenlandruralsports.com/ Impressed with the number and variety of rifles they had, nice bunch to talk to as well.

Just dont mention jap wagons and turbos, can get costly. On a brighter note the disco 3 beat all the jap 4x4 in survey (inc reliability). Weve had a variety of 4x4 go through our shoot, the cheapest to run was a Lada, then a variety of jap stuff, problem was after a couple of years the hilux and trooper had to be scrapped due to engine problems. Admitedly they were cheap at £2K ish, but the LRs are still going, we even have one from the 60s.
