  11. One of the worst things in my opinion is driving two hours when you are nice and warm then having to get changed at the back of the car with the cold wind and rain. Once its done and you are on your way you forget, till next time. Its ok for those who live a stones throw from the marsh they just come in their jimjams. Regards H ps saying that I am still looking forward to the coming season.
  12. What a very kind offer but I have cleaned the old one, thanks anyway. The first view is inside the kitchen looking towards the door that leads to the porch and outside door. This view is from the outside showing the three switch and one turns the kitchen light on, one for the outside light and one for the middle room. That should complete the situation, thanks again. Regards H
  13. I hope you start to feel a lot better soon Regards H
  14. I consider it character building as it makes you work harder thoughout the year hopefully it works on the family as well
  15. Ah ya just have to get stuck in to enjoy skeggy, we go every year for two days all the family we stay at The North Shore golfing hotel but venture into skegg for some entertainment. Whats not to like about a tray with doughnuts with icecream on washed down with a pot of welks and a pint of ale. Yar all a bunch of fannys. Regards H
  16. The chap next door has done that Thanks again for everybodys help and sorry for confusing the issue, I will take pictures as you would not think anyone would put the kitchen switch in the porch. Regards H
  17. I will take some pictures of the fan etc as penance I dont understand all the tecnical stuff, I am getting too old for this
  18. Has anyone got a big hole that I can crawl in please? Turns out that a chap that lives next to the house in question used to work on helicopter electronics so I asked his advice and after he disconnected all the wires and tested everything and did continuity tests etc it turns out that the switch in the kitchen is for an extractor fan. The switch for the strip light in the kitchen is in the porch outside of the kitchen round the corner from the toilet, well it would be wouldnt it Please accept my apologies for wasting your time but I thought it best to come clean about the situation when folk had took the trouble to respond to my question. I dont suppose it will be the last time I make myself look like a titty. Regards H
  19. I am now wondering if the plasterer has had the switch off and wired it up wrong. There was a 1 gang 2 way switch on before it is I who has changed it to the present as I thought it didnt matter as there is only one switch. The two reds were together with the yellow at the bottom. I have a headache thinking about it
  20. I will have a double check tomorrow thanks very much for taking the time to respond
  21. No mate thats how I found it. I dont think there is another switch its the only one for the strip light. (I will double check tomorrow) edited yet again to say wife just said there is only one switch and its only a very small kitchen
  22. These wires in the fitting have not been altered since it stopped working but I have changed the on/off switch. I just thought someone might see something obvious. Thanks again for everyones help. Regards H
