  1. No.......not with rice and chips Just back from a trip to Devon, I was sittting outside when this squirrel apeared about 6 foot away from me. The front end was red, the rear end was grey Im not sure if I saw a red or grey squirrel. Is it possible that they had inter-bred ? Never seen this before, dont even know if they got any reds in Devon
  2. Whatever it was it nicked a ruler from The Royal Hospital Chelsea. Maybe it was a CATburgler.................
  3. Nitromors have a specialist version for the likes of shellac, alkyd and polyeurethane based varnishes - you wont remove it with the All Purpose or Craftsman versions.
  4. I think so too. A poly based varnish.
  5. Does it have a very high gloss finish ? Given what you have said its not a lacquer, your dealing with a different beast here
  6. I bought a pair of Meindl Borneo MFS following recommendation. I cant praise them enough. Bought last winter and worn at every opportunity since, I look for an excuse to put them on, never done that with other boots (Had a few odd looks mind besides the pool with me speedo's on! ) I am sure other boots come with high praise also, but i'm very pleased with my pair and wouldnt hesitate to recommend to others ATB
  7. Dont know much about the gun itself, but HDAV on here (also in S Wales) had one for sale a little while back. Not sure if its still for sale but it was a nice example.
  8. I see, so this allan key adjusts the position of the trigger blade and not the weight of pull. That may still help me, I will see if I can find a manual first, if not will put it in for a Gunsmith to sort Thanks guys M
  9. The trigger on my gun is a little too light for me. On high driven birds I have had the gun disharge before I intented and would like to increase the weight of pull. There is a small allen key by the trigger for adjustment. Is this something I could do or should it go the the gunsmith? Also, if it is something I can do would anyone know which way to turn to increase the weight, and by how much should I turn it. I know its not going to be an exact science, but anyone got an idea? Thanks
  10. So you are after a group photo with a 'narrow' depth of field as in the example you gave. In the example you gave the F number is f1.8, this is a low f number which in turns means an increased aperture diameter = narrow depth of field I havent done any photography for a while now - hope im not confused
  11. If you think there is a market for s shop in your area, and your research backs this up go for it. My main gripes with shops I have been in are 1. Invisable man syndrome - Customer service is very poor in most, or at best poor whilst they work out what your after and how much you going to spend on shiney things. 2. Very rarely made to feel welcome - linked to No1 above I suppose 3. Too many cling-ons loitering around the shop, talking **** to the staff and not spending any money, whilst I am waiting patiently feeling like a spare ***** in a wedding
  12. I was in work. Came out of my office to get a drink in the rest room and saw it on the telly. Stood there for the best part of an hour watching it all unfold in shock and disbelief.

Whatever lays beneth this, what happened is still shocking to this day. I will never forget the image of the planes flying into the towers, or the poor souls who felt the only option was to jump to certain death.
  14. They arrived today and I have now had a quick peek through them and your right, very good for the money. Exceptionally clear and bright image. I'll do my best to look after these ones
  15. Thanks Guys for the replies. Just wanted some background before I buy etc Cheers
  16. Im after a new shooting vest, been on fleabay etc thought I would check the net out. Stumbled across 'sportmansguncentre' anyone bought from them in the past, any good or bad experiences? (not sure if thats OK to mention another company, so if its a no no mods please delete - thanks)
  17. It really is a simple one this. In order to get your business they give 'new' customers a very good deal to get you in through the door. Once you are in, you will nearly always find that the cost increases over the comming years (more than what you would expect for normal inflationary/risk based rises etc) You stay as you believe when you last checked they were the cheapest. This is a mistake on your behalf and exactly what the company wants you to do. Its where they make the money. The same principle also applies to home insurance and even mortgage deals. So, every year on renewal, shop around, someone out there will want your business and you will save money.
  18. I just ordered a 2nd pair. So, pay twice get one offer - not something we will see in Tescos anytime soon. But I will end up with a pair of these Bino's. Fingers crossed they will arrive when things are a little calmer at the house.
  19. Ive used Gorilla Glue in the past for wood. Its tough Stuff
  20. I was well excited when these turned up the day before we were off to the Isle of Wight. Always a bit of a stressful time getting away at the intended time, especially as we were meeting up with others at a service station at a set time. I was just putting the last few items in the boot, my hands were full so popped the Bino's on the trailer which was attached to the car, so I could put the rest of the stuff in boot when Mrs calls me from inside the house. I dashed back in, sorted whatever it was she was whaling about, locked the front door and got in the car. It was about 4am in the morning when we left, still dark. About 3 miles up the road one of my kids asked why was the boot open? Stopped car, got out, swore a bit panicing about what may have fallen out, shut boot, drove on. A few days on I couldnt remember seeing my shiny new Binos.............then it dawned on me. I had put them on the trailer. I was really mad a t this stage as I had got out to shut the boot but completely forgot about the Binos and didnt think to check at the time. So, Bought Bino's, paid extra to get them in time for my trip. Placed on trailer never to be seen again...............didnt even get a chance to look through them once. Typical
  21. Get a good financial adviser. Do the sums Get a decision in principle from a lender that the adviser deems suitable Ask someone who has experience of buying to go along with you as the experience will help you to play the game and get the best result for yourself Don't be fooled by the **** the estate agents tell you Above all try and enjoy the experience ~ although house buying will likely be the most stressful thing you will ever be involved in.
  22. A timely post! I was after some Bino's so ordered these after seeing your post - waiting delivery, should be here today
  23. These days I dont make a packed lunch as I work only 30ft away from my kitchen When I worked for a living in an office I used to go the the local sandwich shop, about £3.50 a day.
