No they are right i had to sell my .17 so i could get another one .17 same cal but different makes the gun shop i bought my gun from just gave me a bill of sale saying they had bought it. then when my variation came through i went back and picked up new gun. simple as that :wacko: :( PS should of said it only took 4days for permit to come through. mind i did drop it of at police HQ and pick up when ready. Ive spoken to John shooter today and the furthest North they go is Yarm thats only three miles from stockton the link at the top does not work for me and the phone number i had seen on one of the forums was incorrect but i got his new number out of a shooting mag. he was very helpful and is sending me all the info for me to check out. Hi madmanx i have a harris bipod my mod is a SAK i was advised by one of the blokes in my local gun shop who used to shoot for england (ive been told not by him) to zero 1inch high at 100yds and then anything out to 200 yds just aim dead on.i dont find the wind makes a great of difference, so saying ive never been out when its been blowing a gale, AMMO I started out using CCI gamepoint 20 grain and i found these to be very inconsistent i got quite a few fliers, mind could of been me. i now use Hornady 17gr (2550fps) Varmint Epress with V MAX bullet and i find these seem to be great They are polymer- tipped which is supposed to make then accurate for long range shooting. the longest i have up to now is a crow at just over 145 paces ive been advised to use a pull through after about every 20 shots and find this helps with the accuracy ive been told that the more ammo through without cleaning the less accurate it will be. So i use one of these snake bores after every 5 mags fired. :thumbs: PS less of the Mr the names Mike Mr makes me feel older than i am

If and when mr plod checks your airrifle to see if you comply with 12lb limit they use in there tests LIGHT MEDIUM and HEAVY pellets.i run one at 11.5ftlbs.on accupels but if i use bisley magnums that i have for my FAC airrifle it take my 12 footer well over the top.

i have a leopould on my .17HMR its the 4/5-14x50 i think this is a great scope not cheap i paid £450 but it is worth it IMO. :thumbs:

HI Madmanx i have the smaller version on the Anshutz in .17HMR they are just as accurate 4 shots mag of a bipod less than an inch groups at 100 yds i use mine mainly for crows out to 160yds mines zeroed to 100 yds what do you have yours zeroed at. mike
