  1. Hi Guys Looking for your advice on where best to sell some working cocker pups in Northern Ireland. The Northern Ireland Working Cocker Club doesn't allow adverts on their facebook page and I'd like to steer clear of Gumtree if I can. Just looking for somewhere that folks from Northern Ireland would want to look for pups. Loads of websites but they seem to be mainly "mainland" sales. Any help is much appreciated! Cheers
  2. I recently submitted a variation (added a new 12 bore) and it came back in 11 days! The local guys also called out to check the safe and were very polite and helpful. If (and that's a big IF) they keep that level of service up I wouldn't mind paying the extra for my certificate. Also, I'm from the country - there are too many guys who have a gun and never ever use it. Yes they have a right to keep it, but if they dont use it then what's the point? It just adds to more hassle and stress if they ever get it nicked. I think upping the license may just force them not to bother renewing and remove these extra guns out there that are not used.
  3. al4x - thanks for the help - that's great! Don't think I have much chance of getting any dogging in but will try and keep working on close work and see if i can get near some live game. I guess working him through woods and dense areas would also help? Thanks
  4. Morning all I have been asked to beat a few times this upcoming season and I will be bringing my 18 month old cocker along. I'd like to take the next few months getting him into a bit of training specifically for beating. Any advice on whats good would be much appreciated! Thanks
  5. PM sent about the Harkila Doglead rucksack. Thanks!
  6. Folks Would really appreciate your help on this one. Mainly do wildfowling, but would like to join a pheasant syndicate next season. I've been on a few let days and really enjoyed them. Im planning on meeting a few shoot organisers over the next month and would like to know if there's anything specific I need to look for or ask about? Thanks in advance for your help!
  7. Wow! PSNI had processed my variation and address change and back in the post on the 23rd Dec! Only a few days after I sent it! Very impressive! Well done PSNI!
  8. Just submitted a variation (including address change) to PSNI. Will let you know when I get it back!
  9. Hi Folks Hopefully some folk in the lisburn/ballinderry/moira area will be able to help me out. I've just moved into the area and would love to chat with a few folk about shooting in the area (anything available, what shops to go to/avoid and so on). If anyone has any information that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  10. Hi all Hopefully you can help me. I'm in the process of making a dog box for my car but I'm looking to get some metal doors for it. Im looking for something like in the below image: http://www.dogtransportboxes.com/dog-transports-boxes.asp These are made out of stainless steel. If anyone knows of where I can get these it would be much appreciated! Thanks!
  11. Probably paid by the letter so was trying to keep the costs down! I'd say nowt. A bit odd though that he has it as a tat when he isn't a Christian. You never know though!
  12. I'm looking for the same actually. Loads of websites but would appreciate a recommendation.
  13. Hi there - would you have a link to this item? I'm interested but would like to have a look at it first. Thanks!
  14. Me too. I bought a superhawk via promatic on ebay. Excellent piece of kit!
  15. I *think* they are sometimes referred to as mojo decoys. We used one of the motorised on our syndicate on the first morning of the season and worked very very well. I have one of the wind propelled ones and with a bit of wind they seem to be quite effective. Responses from ducks have been good and it has either landed them in the decoy spread or brought them in close enough for a shot.
  16. Yeah, same thing happened to me as well. Anyone managed to do it successfully with pre-hung birds?
  17. No you didn't. If you did, I wouldn't have posted my comment. There was no way of us knowing it was incomplete. After much to-ing and fro-ing, you admitted you initially submitted an incomplete post which was good enough for me (even after you said I had a simple mind). So stop digging and just carry on!!
  18. I knew my simple mind wasn't playing tricks on me! Anyhooo....it's a good post and as I said already, will definitely keep it in mind for when I am over the water again.
  19. The confusing bit was you initially submitted your OP without the bit about shops etc. This is then when woodcock and I submitted our replies. In the meantime you then edited your OP to then include the rest of your story. I'll ignore your comment about small minds as you obviously made a mistake.
  20. I'm sure webber can appreciate our confusion!
  21. Ah! The problem was that bit of the story wasn't in the post when we replied to it! Now that its been updated I'll keep these places in mind for my next visit over the water!
  22. Am I missing something? Can definitely see the misfortune, but what was the excellent bit?
  23. I'm looking for decoys too - let me know what you have.
