  1. Beautiful gun - looks similar to the one my dad taught me to shoot with. Happy shooting with it!
  2. Great pics - love your dogs!
  3. Meg looks happy! Good pic!!
  4. I agree with this. Even though I have not done the actual exam, I managed to get my hands on a safety officers manual and I have to say that the manual is very informative and useful. Coming from a background where I learned everything from my Dad where the only place we shot was out in the fields, I found the manual very useful as it highlighted things you need to be aware of and how to conduct yourself on a clay pigeon ground. Things like how to carry a gun properly if it is out of its slip - I bet quite a few members don't do it right (me being one of them) Well done to the OP!
  5. Great pics, one of those moments where most people only wished they had a camera, but you did! Well done! Cracker dog as well.
  6. Great action pics there mate. Bit of exercise for yourself as well so its win-win!
  7. I like it! Good to see you are starting them early on the rules! Great pics!
  8. Thanks mate - just made my monday morning a bit brighter!
  9. Not having a semi-auto, but thinking of getting one, I have a question on this... Does using a semi-auto cause some people a pain re picking up fired cartridges? I would love to get one, but in some scenarios like shooting out of a boat (which I do quite a bit) I can't see this working as the carts would probably eject into the water?
  10. Looks great to me! Good on ya for having a go at doing it - looks like it paid off!
  11. Great news, im in the process too so hopefully will find out in a few weeks!! Happy Shooting mate!
  12. This is one of the funniest things I have read in ages!!
  13. As above. Great shooting, but some dodgy shots! Great video though!
  14. Very nice - hope you get good shooting out of it!
  15. Northern Ireland - My wife recently applied for a 20G and also to add my 12G and rifle on loan. Whole process took 12 weeks. Made a few calls to the PSNI and they were reasonably helpful and kept me informed of the progress (the delay was checking out the land that the rifle was to be used on). After a while I started getting frustrated so got onto my local BASC and 3 days later it arrived. In my opinion, there is a fine line between calling the PSNI too much and therefore not getting any favours. The BASC seems the best way if you are not getting any response from the PSNI.
  16. Great pics and great shooting by the sounds of it! I like your alternative to the semi-auto safety flag - where did you get that from?
  17. I have just bought a uni dot (similar to Easy hit, but cheaper) to give it a go. I have used Easy Hit in the past, but like a previous poster says - it will take a while to get used to it. Im right handed, left eye dominant.
  18. If you are near an apple store then I would book an appointment - the guys in there are great and usually sort your problems out easily. I had a similar problem and they sorted it. Bring your laptop with you too!
  19. Thankfully my wife really isn't into that tripe. Usually a nice meal cooked by me does the trick.
