It looks great fun, and I would love to have a go, I imagine its designed for pigeon shooting and could be excellent at it, but one thing for clays the video states all barrels are fired in turn which could be a problem only using two barrels for choke selection on sporting meaning choke chane between stands, but nothing to hard

Quite a reduction in shot numbers between 27-28 gram and 21 gram -

I can just imagine the fun i could have with that down the clay shoot, mind you it would cost a fortune in letting people have a go as not many people carry spare 410 carts at a clay ground -
Watched a you tube video last night showing George Digweed shooting clay's from about 60 yards moving out to 130 yards and hitting them with either first of second shot He did state they were dropping quite a lot at that range when hit !!!!!! And i thought 40-50 yards was a long shot

What are the best handling shotguns in your experience?
ChrisAsh replied to Cumbrian's topic in Guns & Equipment
How do you define handling its to much of a open question that has no real answer, what one person likes another has a different point of view. what may suite a mounted shooter (should be banned from clays) may be way out for someone who shoots unmounted (more natural) -
Just work the 4 night shifts together and then alternate with the other person to do 4 days only. it's impossible to run 2 days alternating your body wont take it for long but 4 nights then 4 days preferably with a day off between is not to bad

Is that 12 gauge plus three other or just 20, 28 & 410 -
What is surprising is the fact that the smaller makers like Yildiz and Bettinsoli have far better wood on middle of the road guns, that the big three's base guns and you probably have to pay about £500 extra to get the same quality wood. I guess its just a marketing method to get more money

Insurance/membership suggestions.
ChrisAsh replied to Pyropredator's topic in General Shooting Matters
Sorry where does this pay your way come into it, I shoot clays at a local range and have no reason to belong to any organisation, I dont compete in registered shoots and cannot see any advantage in joining any group -
How on earth can people be so sensitive over such a small simple form Talk about making a mountain over a molehill Just the normal anti police cods wallop, learn to work with them not against them and you get co-operation

I understand a few companies make Browning shotguns but not Brownings them selves Do they just design them and sell the name and design to Maroko and others for royalty ? Do Browning actually produce any gun themselves ? Anyone know the main history of these shotguns

I did a post a few months ago about the dd problem, think I called it history of bettinsoli

I would suggest a phone call to the importers would be a good start they are gmk at www.gmk.co.uk

Great wood and price

Norfolk or East Anglia is a great place for shooting and i think has the most shotguns held in the country. But as someone who originally came from Kent, up here there are no bloody hills, the landscape is beautiful but boring if you can understand that. I am sure nearly every other village has a straw bale shoot and a fair amount of wild fowling around to

I would look on guntrader for a Yildis they come in all gauges and have a good name for a low cost gun They make plenty of 20 and 28 gauge guns o/u & SxS

Welshwarrior, Many thanks that was what i intended. I have been looking at a gun with adjustable stock, but significant price difference between with and without so considering both options, At present i shoot unmounted at clay's and don't find any problems and could easily carry the dimensions over to any other gun, but a bit like chokes its easy to feel that i might just turn into a tweeker rather than just keep all things standard
-
Not much point then is there as it normally only costs about £40-50 to have your fixed gun adjusted at a gunsmith for fit
-
Does anyone ever change the setting once they have finished adjusting them, or do they change position for different types of clays i.e. sporting or DTL
-
As far as I am aware there is no need to inform the police if you move your cabinet, you and only you are responsible for the safety of the guns and as long as its out of the way and fully bolted down there should not be any problem

Full for Phesants and Half for Pigeon

Not sure that's the case now days, there probably is a big difference between asking and selling prices, auction prices are the only real judge, perhaps someone who follows the auctions could comment

Just wondered how good the makers guarantee's are in getting your gun back to you when something has gone wrong. Did you have a long wait before the gun was returned and was it fixed first time, Who are the good guys and who are bad at quickly fixing things I have never had to use a guarantee myself but it could influence my next purchase i guess if there are some very long delays or poor repairs Maybe maker, Fault and repair time could be posted
