  1. Dnt I bought common rights 10 years ago on cl 65 and yes you are right I along with others out of the area bought that right at great personal expence to fowl there as as an outsider from Yorkshire. I wasn't able to join a parochial club there as they wouldn't let me but I didn't moan about it like panorama paul or anyone else I dug deep for the right to do it as an "individual", I have no issue with anyone buying "a or a share of a common right and good luck to them but not a large club masquerading as some kind of charity through some loophole on I/4 share of a right it just doesn't sit well with me.
  2. I find it hard to believe the amount of dodging this thread has caused by Kent Wildfowlers as the title is "Not" Thornham its "BRANCASTER" with a capital B and the main question that you are dodging was can you tell the wildfowling fraternity that you are so willing to preach to about saving wildfowling to was. Why are kent wildfowlers trying to register a I/4 share of a single right on the common rights register masquerading as a charity instead of going up front as Kent wildfowlers seems very devious act by the so called super club with obvious and which could be seen as un ethical ties With BASC's chairman
  3. What shergar or brancaster ?
  4. Well pm me then barls
  5. Dnt just talk to the locals and someone who shoots directly behind you ie stalkerboydy And I really don't know why I should answer your questions as you wont answer ours ?
  6. Terry I hope you enjoy your time in kent wildfowlers for 200 or whatever quid it is, but just spare a thought for the genuine wildfowlers who has paid a lot of money in some cases many thousands for common rights for the right to shoot there and if they mess it up as much as they have done at thornham and YOU had spent the same money for some reason cant imagine you would be championing their cause so fastidiously
  7. I am involved dnt as I am a common right holder on the said marsh BRANCASTER you are trying to get on using or masquerading as a charity so now can you tell me or do you need to run to Alan for advice ?
  8. Confirm or deny DNT ? simple question as you seem to be kents mouthpiece ??
  9. Well Alan Jarrat of kent wildfowlers is the chairman of basc wildfowling, conflict of interest springs to mind !
  10. I know of an english top lever single 8 coming on the market very soon
  11. Well DNT this all seems to have gone conveniently quiet as soon as brancaster got mentioned but as I am CL65 common right holder can you answer scolopax and houseboats question and now mine re kent's back door approach to the common right registration through a charity
  12. Wanted Nightforce nxs 5.5-22 x56 with np2 DD
  13. Nice shot Greg , and good clear video well done.
  14. There is a lot of truth in what the previous post says and sssi can be a nightmare to work with if you want to change things, I was in the running to buy a 30 acre piece that sits in a sssi in the end and after a meeting with Natural England I abandoned it in favour of the smaller piece I have now which still borders the nature reserve but is free from restrictions.
  15. Iv done it bud on not much more land than that, I have about 20 acre of woodland / ex arable land iv created a pond done some tree planting/ created rides and clearings in the wood. its taken me about three years but im reaping the benefits big time now. Had the best season ever on the pond, duck bags up ten fold on the previous two years plus I have a little walk round every so often always get a slack handful of pheasants along with the excellent woodcock flighting ( my favourite ) and the occasional deer I can honestly say its been the best investment I have ever made. If you go ahead don't hesitate to ask and if I can help I will , there are a lot of schemes and grants available from various organisations to assist you, DF
  16. If you can afford it and this is not a wind up ? I would go down the buy your own land and create the right habitat. I have created two ponds in the last few years one I shoot and one I don't or very rarely. Land wont be cheap around my way small parcels are in the region of 10k + per acre so if you are a schoolboy who is dreaming as has been suggested the this will amount to a whole lot of pocket money !! There are a number of schemes available from the wildlife trusts and other bodies that will help out financially, and you will need planning if it is anything of size as I found out to my cost ! It is very rewarding though and both my ponds attract large amounts of wildfowl and especially one which is a very exiting teal pond which can be verified by scolopax.on here who shot it with his brother.
  17. Cracking day Dave I like the last photo too , atb for the new year . Bob

  19. Jeezes that looks painfull fella ! , did you trap it or something ?
  20. Robert all the clubs I have ever been in iv never heard that one, maybe your club doesn't want anyone to know about numbers because it doesn't want any new members ?
  21. Lot of pinks still in North Norfolk, I had a guest out with me last week shot a few geese and saw many thousands of pinks lifting of Holkhams mashes . Heading inland to my caravan just up the road there were at least 10k pinks on a beet field , so as they say its never over till the fat lady sings !
  22. One of my ponds attracts big numbers of Teal which will eat most things, they readily take wheat or barley but iv found their favourite seems to be rape seed.or better still is the waste from a drier i bagged 40 sacks after harvest of rape/fat hen/dock seed with bits of barley broken wheat beans you name it all mixed up. They go mad for it and best of all its just a waste product so comes free !
  23. They do here in North lincs fella the reserve at the back of our house has a large inland lake between 1500 an 4000 have been on it since September
  24. Personally I wouldn't bother with one, as has been said the ten will do the same job with none of the hassle associated with these bored out guns. That being said if that what floats your boat and you want an affordable 8 why not. I know plenty of people that use them to good effect, I bought my first 8 bore a English single in the early eightys and had numerous big bores since a very addictive pastime and now unfortunately a very expensive one too good luck with it beretta 28. . Ps Kent I had a rotor cuff and tendon repair along with some arthritis spurs removed on my shoulder 6 months ago no doubt caused by some of the daft loads I used to put through the big bores when I started out, I have been struggling for years with it but its been a success and im back to normal now..
