The so called protest yesterday was absolutely despicable, if the students think that did them any good at all then they need to back to school not university. Why do they think they have the god given right to do exactly what they want and the tax payer will pick up the bill? As for throwing a fire extinguisher off the roof, I sincerely hope that person is prosecuted for attempted murder. The jumped up public school boys who they are interviewing on the TV this morning actually think it was funny. The lessons the police need to learn is NOT to take the softly softly approach if there is a next time and bring out the tear gas and water cannons. All that waas achieved yesterday is 1000's of pounds worth of damage. There is no reason why these students should not pay their way and I am certain that it costs far more than £3000 per year to teach them.

I use a 210.5 for both my springers, they are not so higher pitched as the others. It doesn't really matter as we all blow them differently anyway. My own view is the Acme type are the best because if you lose one (and you will) you can just go and get another one. I once forgot my whistle on a shoot day and borrowed a stag horn one of another beater. I may as well not have bothered as Merlin took no notice of it. I now have at least 3 in the car at any one time and usually a few dotted around in various coats. The other good thing with the Acme one is you can take the ring off and stick them in the cutlery rack of your dishwasher.

No I haven't ever upgraded a operating system, why? because as you have highlighted it causes more problems than it solves and does it really make any difference? is vista better than XP? no probably not as 99% of the people who use computers are like me, they do not know or care what windows does. I use excel and word and autoCAD, nothing else really matters. I have however upgraded AutoCAD several times and have not had any issues. Maybe they just know how to make something work and do not release an upgrade until it is going to work.

Is it really too much to ask that a new piece of software comes without bugs? After all it isn't like it is the first forum ever is it. Are these things not tried and tested first? or are they purposely done like this so the exspurts can feel superior for 3 minutes?

By doing that in firefox only moves the text off the buttons etc at the top. Typical IT workarounds rather than fixing things properly. Next we will be told to turn it off and then back on again.

Is there anyone on here in the colchester/north essex area (or further afield) who is involved with any carol singing groups? My friend who owns a fruit and veg shop is putting on a christmas event on Saturday 27th November along with the Butchers shop that he is next to. They are trying to get a Carol singing group to do a couple of slots during the day. All the ones they have approached have said no they won't do it as it is out of Advent. If there is anyone who can help can they PM me? I woulds appreciate if this thread could be kept banter free but if you feel that you must then go right ahead. Thanks MC

The shot CANNOT be done, go on google earth and by using the measure tool find an area on any of your fields that is 704 yards. Then put a life size hare cut out there and move 704 yards away. I will garantee that you will not be able to see it, let alone calculate the EXACT bullet drop and windage and then hit that target. It was grade A ******** of the highest order. If anyone reckons they can do it I am sure I can sort out a 704 yard range for them to prove it.

This is funnier than a funny thing, If anyone wants a couple of cartridges to keep in storage that haven't been fired from their gun so they are completely untracable then send me a PM, I can doo all calibres from 10 bore to .410 ( I can do 9mm and .22 shotshell if needed but they are extra) All you need do is send me a paypal payment for £25 and I will send you what you need. I will even put them in a freezer bag with a wire tie around the top and label each one top or bottom barrel. Just grow up, man up and do what the police are asking you to do.
