  1. You ought to learn to read before you start calling people names, ********
  2. Of course I haven't got involved with any of the CPSA whingers Cat, That would make me a sad has been like yourself who still hasn't acheived anything either. Are you still hanging around with the Winners each weekendhoping at some point you might get a look in? I am just enjoying shooting, but then I bet you can't remember ever doing that can you? ******* ***ker
  3. How do you want the money? Cheers MC
  4. Absolutely, Tell them to stop ******* around. You obviously have such a strong case they feel that something isn't right and are declining your requests. Lets face it unless you are loaded you aren't going to challenge them in court as the costs will be prohibitive and noone is going to get legal aid over it. There is far more to this than meets the eye as every force knows if you have justification then they cannot refuse unless they have good reason. Maybe they feel you haven't
  5. The elite will be along calling it Forsakenheath etc, But then they are living in the past reminiscing about grounds of the 70's which don't exist anymore. I have shot there a few times and I feel they have spoilt it by pulling out all the trees, but on the plus side they have no love for the CPSA.
  6. Well that took longer than I expected, Rangerman has started calling people names, showing that he has truly lost the argument. Although argument maybe the wrong word as he never managed to put up a convincing point about anything. As for the Essex contingent not knowing anything, name the time and place and I am sure we can show you. But then you will bottle it like all the others who have ever bigged themselves up. What is that saying about talking the talk? Shooting pedigree? Don't make me laugh, The couple of self professed elitists have googled "shooting grounds of the 70's" and are reminiscing about a couple of old Shooting times articles. I suppose next you will be discussing the smell of paper cased cartridges, or maybe the best material for muzzle loader wadding? Do us all a favour Rangerman, go and find your stone and get back under it.
  7. Postmen barely work a full week at the best of times, let alone one with 2 bank holidays in it. I reckon you will get your parcel about february, if the lazy **** can be bothered!
  8. Teal, IMO the finest eating bird there is.
  9. That really is the thing though, Mungler. How many people actually "Mark" there own score cards? Someone else in the squad will do it and a fellow shooter is usually paying more attention than the spotty teenager at the registered shoot who is more interested in texting his mate who is scoring the next stand. I am not sure what part of Essex Dennis "Rangerman" Webb lives but he is sadly deluded if he thinks you can't get to a clay shoot within 20 minutes of their house. I can get to at least 4 most sundays through the summer within 10 minutes of my front door.
  10. oh dear here we go, Another one banging on about how only CPSA members are insured and know what they are doing. Has it ever occurred to you bunch of idiots that 99% of clay shooters do not care about your ivory towers that you look down on the rest of us from? The CPSA does nothing for clay shooting, apart from organise a couple of championships once a year. That is it, admit it and get on with your life. The normal shooter is not interested in the politics of whether Phil Boakes is or isn't resigning or whether he should or shouldn't go. It was me who was banging on about there being no registered shoots in Essex, as for decent grounds there are several. I wasn't aware that the requisite for a decent ground was that they had to hold registered shoots and fly the CPSA flag as High as they can. You really should get out more as Essex has lots to offer the clay shooter, but you won't find any details on the CPSA web site as they are not interested in grass roots clay shooting. As for decent targets, must get boring going to somewhere like the Fennes and straighting every stand all the time as they aren't. I always thought the CPSA's banner was "To encourage and promote the sport of Clay Pigeon Shooting" yet they are not interested in doing anything in Essex. And I do know this as I have spoken to them about it.
  11. Definetly a moody account, my guess is either a disfunctional member from Buckinghamshire who had set his own forum up or another nutter from Nothern Ireland who kept naming himself after guns. Either way they won't be hard to draw out, just me posting will bring the second one out. Both complete nutters either way.
  12. So the cost will go up? Does it matter? At the moment I am paying £12 a year to carry out a hobby that I love doing. Even if they double it, it won't be an issue to me. Shooting to me is far more than cost. If I took the cost into account I wouldn't do it.
  13. If you were a target shooter you automatically get an open ticket. I can use any of my target rifles on ANY approved range I want as long as the range is approved for that firearm. So not open in the sense you can use them where you see fit but open in as much no one range is mentioned. I use loads of rounds target shooting, probably 5000 or so a year but the HUGE difference is you never have to consider backstops etc and all the approved ranges have butts and bullet catchers etc. Ammo usage should really be an issue for any gun, if you aren't using it you don't really need it do you?
  14. Yes, Forgot about the Kreighoff one. Definetly that one. But then again so many to choose from
  15. There has been too many to call this year, 2010 should go down in PW history. Yes there has been the bunker, the 704 yard hare. But don't forget the "Should I shoot the sick deer" That was also a classic. There has also been several long range (over 250 yard) rabbits head shot with an HMR.
  16. Right, firstly do not hit your dog. You will only end up as bad as the people who have suggested it. There is ABSOLUTELY no need to hit a dog, if you do you have failed in its training. Get yourself an empty coke can, stick 3 pennies in it and tape up the hole. The very next time he looks like he may try and attack rattle the can as hard as you can so it makes a very loud noise. The dog will back away. If he comes back for more than rattle it again. And again untill he gets the message. This is something you need to do every single time he looks like repeating himself. It may take a day it may take 3 weeks but the important thing is to rattle it everytime he looks like biting. Even when he has got the message leave the can so he can see it and you can get it quickly.
  17. If you want neoprene then there are loads available. Personally I don't like them and prefer the normal ones. I bought mine off the bay for about 40 quid. They are Ocean rubber/PVC type.
  18. I have a Hawke 3-9 x 50 mildot scope on mine and I can't remember the last time I changed the mag. It is always set on 8
  19. Yes both sides would spin freely if one half shaft was broken. One side is still attached to the diff but it has no resistance the other side
  20. I have only ever fired one gun at a pattern plate, and that was Bob300Ws 4 bore. I really do not see the point unless you are having a gun fitted. There is no garantee that even to cartridges out of the same box will be the same, let alone for the same batch or even manufacturer. If you want to get some idea what choke does what to each cartridge then fine but I am not bothered. I know full well that when I miss it is because I pointed the gun in the wrong place. Point it in the right place and the clay will break.
  21. Yes it was a 6, I pulled it out of my coat collar
  22. If the half shafts are OK and you have both wheels in the air as you spin one side the other will rotate in the opposite direction. If you have one wheel on the ground you won't be able to turn them if the half shafts are intact. Unless of course the diff is cattle trucked.
  23. If you need any help with that then give me a shout It is something I excel at
  24. I would be far more concerned with getting the right ratio than whether it is stronger or not. Defenders are fairly bombproof so yours could have had some stick in the past. If you ever want land rover bits look at RST Landrovers, they are about 1/4 of a mile from me and I have running back and forth to Herts quite regularly at the moment. Delivery charges are fairly modest
  25. I would have to agree with F3x3 and also Mungler. A good selection of birds is a must, sometimes you need a confidence booster and shooting a few gimme stands first can build that up, especially if you have had a bad day or so. Also they need to cater for everyone, I quite often take people who just want to try clay shooting and it is no good taking them somewhere which only has difficult stuff. A place where you can get a cup of tea is a must and also smilie friendly faces working there. There is too many miserable **** associated with the shooting industry and it is a pleasure to go to places that enjoy serving people. And obvioulsy big boobies behind the counter is just icing on the cake.
