If pigeons weren't on the list it would be illegal to shoot them anyway, So the law that covers lead shot is seperate and covers all wildfowl yet the one that states you cannot use a gun with a mag that can hold more than two doesn't apply. Argue all you like, the law is the law and you cannot get away from it.
-
So by reading all this nonsense that all the EXSPURTS are posting means you can also shoot canada geese with lead shot as well? After all the OGL gives exemption to all laws. You go ahead and do whatever you feel is right, and when the day comes that you are prosecuted for breaking all the laws I will be the first in line to say I told you so. The LAW clearly states that you cannot shoot wildfowl with a gun which has a magazine capable of holding more than 2 cartridges. Yes I am sure there is a valid reason and it is probably to prevent mass slaughter of these birds. However I do not know but I will e mail BASC to ask them for you all.

Why would you have to use non toxic shot? Oh yes that is right it is because the LAW says so, likewise the law states you cannot shoot WILDFOWL with a gun with a magazine capable of holding more than two cartridges. I would say that outlaws .22 rifles or any other with a mag capacity of more than two. The OGL allows Canada geese to be shot all year round providing all other non lethal methods have been tried and exhausted. It does not give exemption to any other laws. Maybe you do not understand the OGL and you should read a bit more before spouting off like some intolerable know it all. Scully, You may shoot canada geese all year round providing you conform to the terms of the OGL, but the LAW states that you cannot use a gun with a magazine capable of holding more than two shots. It is the law and there doesn't have to be a single reason. You can only drive at 70 MPH on a motorway. WHy? Because the LAW says so.
-
Maybe so but the OGL only gives exemption to shoot wild birds under certain conditions, they are all still protected by LAW. Since when did NE make and uphold the laws? You still have to use non toxic shot, so if you have to abide by that little law then I am certain you need to abide by the rest. Still you obviously know far more about the wildfowling laws than I do so I will bow to your greater knowledge. And anyway why should I give two hoots, it ain't my licence that will be lost because someone on an internet forum said it was OK.

Another photo off Google images then? You are getting good at copying and pasteing  :o

Yes, definetly because the LAW states you cannot use a gun with a magazine capable of holding more than two cartridges to shoot wildfowl. Canada geese despite being on the general licence are still wildfowl.
-
No it isn't, They are still classed as wildfowl even though they may be shot under the terms of the OGL.

I use a Opinel knife for general use and for gutting I have a folding utility knife which takes Stanley knife blades. I use the hooked type floorlayers blade in it. It is perfect for slitting open a rabbit and is razor sharp. Once it gets blunt you either turn it around or throw it away and start with a new one.

WHAT!!!!!!!!! You raving poofter man, what on earth are you doing even knowing about things like that? Do you work in a LAYDEEZ Boudoir?

Nice, I have just had a bacon sandwich, I have chile con carne for tea tonight.

True enough but this thread is about ettiquette, not about looking like a hillbilly off to shoot his tea. DOUBLE

Better than lead - no? It is far superior to lead as is hevi shot. -
Or you could insert a SAF T PLUG in the open breech, that way others can see the breech is open and safe Available from yours truly for a crisp fiver.

My cases out of my CZ never even look that dirty, let alone split. All you ever see on mine is a little soot around the neck. However I don't check every case as I am not that sad or bothered. As long as the rabbit is dead I really couldn't care about the case.

Either that or sign up for the Romford Navy? The first thing they teach you is to ensure there is water around your boat before you launch it.

Well you know what they say Dan, "Those who can do, those who can't move to Suffolk"

I would actually go along with that, At my local club shoot yesterday there was a guy with an AK 47 looking shotgun which a few guys were rattling cartridges through. It impessed me about as much as one of Bazza's farts in a diving suit would. Maybe I have lost my sense of humour but I couldn't see the point of rattling 10 cartridges at a clay rapidly.

It was definetly a seal, It comes in to the causeway when there are people around and when the fishing boats come in and it gets fed quite well.

Can I pay you £10 a week?

Can you deliver it to Mersea?

We can all work for nothing, but that doesn't pay the mortgage does it? Personally I wouldn't be bothered in the slightest about upsetting them, they aren't bothered about upsetting you. Why should you be subsidising their new project? Are they going to weigh you out some of the profits? Don't do anything illegal, just go and sit in their office. Go about 3pm and demand your money. Tell them you are not leaving until you get paid. Also if you can park your car blocking their entrance without causing an obstruction to other companies etc all the better. If you have the slightest inkling that they might be going under get in there straight away and get your money. Leave it too long and they go pop you get nothing.
-
Take my advice, I have done this twice, Make yourself a flask of coffee. Walk into their office and sit down. Tell them you will not be leaving until you have been paid. The first time I did it I finally got a cheque at 18:15 and I had been there about three hours. The second time I did it I got the cheque within minutes. These were both seperate companies. I have not had a bad payer since.

Jerry, I would withdraw your application for CEO fast if I were you. I would think that posessing the ability to read might be one of the things they will be looking for. In my posts it states that both these times they were REGISTERED shoots, so therefore HAVE to comply with the CPSA rules. Yet they don't. What do the CPSA do? SWEET FA that is what. Whether Bobby Watkins is a recruitment officer or a regional officer ar whatever he still should be able to do something about it. Especially as he was ringing me to find out why I was not rejoining, and that was one of the reasons I gave him. I would have thought it was exactly his job be sorting out an issue if it meant people weren't rejoining. After all surely a remit for a recruitment officer is to sort the issues out so people rejoin isn't it? Is that to sensible for the likes of the CPSA?
-
You really are as stupid as you make out aren't you? Maybe you can tell me what part of the BASC rules say you cannot use a semi auto on a driven shoot? So it is up to the grounds to supply safety cages? I agree with that but why do the CPSA bother with writing rules if they do not enforce them? The shooter in the Clay Shooter magazine has contacted the CPSA and has been told there is nothing they can do. I also told the South African guy when he phoned me up and I was told there is little they can do. What is the point of them existing? Why do they make rules and then when someone doesn't abide by them say there is nothing they can do?

That is a pretty dumb argument, You HAVE to eat and drink to survive, you do NOT have to smoke.
