  1. Don't worry Scully, BASC will be all over like a rash, you never know professional legal advice might be taken....
  2. Corbyn's creaming his knickers, he's got election fever......
  3. David Davis's deal was exactly that, (Canada ++) it was chucked out for the Checkers deal, that was the reason he rapped.
  4. Its common when butting up to a solid face to take the last of the thread off and square the face, looks and is a lot neater. If the depth of the groove is a couple of thou under the depth of the bottom of the thread it wont weaken the barrel. Good machine practise, you stop the cut in that area, saves running the tool into the face. Others may do it different...
  5. Mark Francois MP lays out the upcoming CON over Theresa May's Brexit Deal & the Backstop. Watched this on Sky News today, interesting to say the least, swapping of white papers, a magic letter that's going to appear in the next two days etc.
  6. Two screws on the side of the carb, screw them all the way in, then both out one full turn, then try starting it again.
  7. Spot on Vince, first thing that needs to happen is sorting the jails out first, the recent C5 program on Durham Jail proved this, one of the inmates couldn't wait to get back inside Durham because he made more money on the inside than he could outside...
  8. It begs the question why stop it in the first place then...
  9. I'm OK with swapping 6mths for the birch...
  10. Would it not have to go through parliament first...just hot air from one MP isn't it..?
  11. JohnfromUK's post sums it up, & the re-moaners call the Brexiteers thick Serious question to the whingers......Do you honestly think that Dismays deal is a good one.?..
  12. I keep on hearing this rhetoric from the re-moaners over & over I know exactly what I voted for, it was on the ballot form...leave
  13. There was a mention of one of them in the comments, basically the capacitor used in the video wouldn't do the job but an ignition coil of a car would.?
  14. Come across this video on utube, a few of the comments below the video are criticizing whether it'll work or not, which has given me some doubts. I'm not that electrically minded to say one way or the other, there's no wiring diagram either, just the op wiring the trap up as the video goes. Basically 12v battery, with what I think is a capacitor wired on the negative.? Any sparkys willing to give an opinion if this is feasible or not, if so I'm thinking on making one for the allotment.
  15. Nice picture...is there something wrong with the front left foot, looks like a lump.?
  16. Same here, time will tell... One thing for certain is it's a lot better than it was...
  17. If you need any help. Newbie just pm me @ ill go into detail, its really 1st year metalwork stuff but you struggle without a lathe/mill drill etc... 👍
  18. Personal preference tbh... easier to dress the edge with the stone in the link in the thread above.
  19. Birchwood Casey Super Blue, tbh I don't kmow how long the finish will last.. I was going to give it a white vinigar patina finish but didn't have any, if the blueing doesn't last that's what I'll do.
  20. Hi D@S..roughly about an hour, the jig mskes all the differnce, so much easier with it keeping the blade in a fixed position.
  21. A mate gave me this Mora a good few years ago, it's done the usual, skinning/chopping meat/fishing/bushcraft etc, & looking at it today I decided that it needed a bit of TLC. I think you'll agree it's had a rough paper round. The knife sharpening jig I made a while ago was the go to tool for the job, after the initial making & trying it out, I modified parts & changed to Diamond Files & Whetstones. All bought off the bay of plenty & tiddlywink Ebay, for not a lot of pennies + they do a cracking job, no need for the expensive J-pan stones, see links. The latter one is good for when you have sharpened your knife & just need to dress the burr after using it, nice little stone that fits in the pocket. 240#/600#/1000# Grit Professional Fixed Angle Diamond Home Kitchen Tool Knife Sharpening Stone Tool Knife Sharpener Whetstone https://www.aliexpress.com/item/240-600-1000-Grit-Home-Kitchen-Tool-Knife-Sharpener-Sharpening-Stone-3pcs-sets/32802583403.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.62514c4dBcYKNf 3000# ruby sharpener stone with base https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3000-ruby-sharpener-stone-with-base-Freeshipping-Dropshipping-1-piece-price-Ruby-oil-stone/767729079.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.62514c4dBcYKNf 10000# 3000# Grit Knife Razor Sharpener Stone Whetstone Polishing Tool Ebay Item No-282989828143 First two pictures show getting the angle right that's already ground on the knife, mark it with black ink marker, set the angle on the knife jig till the diamond file cleans the ink off level, then grind away till you dress the egde evenly all along the length of the knife. Next picture shows the angle getting dressed. After dressing both sides of the Mora I re-fit it back into the jig then increase the angle so I can re-sharpen the edge for the final time. Finish it off with the ruby stone below + a photo of the mirrored edge. It's now shining like a **** house door, akin to looking down the side of a razor blade & seeing the mirror like finish on the cutting edge. Top edge of the knife now, different clamp on the jig to dress the top. I finish it off blueing the blade, then re-fitting into the jig for a final dressing to highlight the cutting edge. A lot better than it was, & a lot sharper by far.
  22. Very early on after making it I swapped to diamond files, in fact I've just restored a Frosts Mora today using it, I'm going to post a thread on it soon...
  23. You need to get the angle on the blade first, the grit 8000/3000 won't removed much material especially the 8000 which will just polish the edge. To give you a better idea have a look at one of my threads; https://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/368902-knife_sharpening_jig/
