  1. I had a bolt action .410 when I was small and loved it, made me aim well due to the smaller load but to be honest I was more interested in sneaking up on birds in the woods the the size of the shot, question though, why would you grow out of a 20bore? I used one at the weekend and at 6'2" and 15 stone I love the smaller caliber gun to the point where I am looking to get one.
  2. Seen a few boys out with one of these recently while doing organised pigeon days, one had a 5 shot the other a 7 shot. Is there a massive following for these or is it just a really fast way to use up you box of carts? I am quite happy with the old Lanber at the moment but was curious so thought I would ask.
  3. Well used but in good condition, very light so easy to walk around with, couple of small marks in barrels but nothing bad. 28" Fixed Choke at 1/4 & 1/2 with auto saftly and single selective trigger. Want £175 for her.
  4. She is kennelled, gets bored about 4am and likes to play eat my bed game. Will try the paper first, thought about doing what we do for the horse with hay but thought it might get in her eyes.
  5. I have managed to get permission to start looking for a new gun, I have changed a million nappies, cleaned the house and walked the dog every day for the last year. I was in the shop looking as at first I wanted a nice beretta SP but then my eye was drawn to a AYA #2 that was sat there. I hand a look over it and to be honest it felt great, balance and weight were about right, stock was a little long but that was it. Am I mad in thinking of buying one? Everyone I know uses an OU or semi so there must be a reason for this. Anyone use an SBS for everyday shooting that might be able to offer some advise?? Paul.
  6. Hi all, Anyone got an idea for a dog bed that is pointer proof? I was thinking steel might work? Paul.
  7. 8lb 12oz, 4th hey, will just sneeze it out then! My wife took 32 hours, I knew she liked the gas and air but think she was taking the mic, took me only 8 hours to service my car and there is a lot more too that!
  8. Little Anna Rose Maidment, Borne 11:57 Saturday 9th Oct. All I need now is a very very small gun for her to use!
  9. Mud! Can not do that, just painted the wheels black,,,,, Seriously though the General Grabber AT2's on and they are so cleane I wince when I look at them. Weekend of mud. Just did the Cam belt for this and I have to say it has to be the easiest one I have ever changed (out of the two I have done,,,) Will let you know how I get on with the conversion if and when the 3ltr does blow.
  10. The hospital near us had to stop using the alcohol gel in the reception as the drunks stole it and one died so I guess people drink anything these days. Anyway I remember the world went mad years ago when a farmer had to get rid of his cockerel as an out of towner complained it was too noisy and the courts agreed so just one more for the list.

    Ooch Owch

Why have I got the urge to cross my legs, wince and walk about the room all of a sudden,,,,,,
  12. It is the 3ltr! bought it off ebay for £800 as it had a blown engine, got it home and realised it was just the injectors and the last owner did not really have a clue. Called Izuzu and it was under a recall and they did the lot for free and she runs sweet now, when she blows (I know she will) I will rag out the 3ltr and fit the 3.1 as that was the origional plan but lets see how long I can keep her running. Oil and filters every 5k and a wing and a prayer and she should do ok for a few seasons. Only issue is because she is so tidy and no dents the wife actually like the thing but as per a coment earlier I might get that green paint out,,,, oh and lose the rear wheel cover,,,
  13. Oh and does anyone know a good place to get a half cage for the boot of the Trooper, want to be able to get the dog and other stuff in there, like a pram, shopping, picnic basket, mother inlaw without worrying that th pup might get squashed going round a bend.
  14. Got this the other day, work nearly done and got to pop it in for some new tyres next week then she will be ready for some serious mud and snow. Oh and the baby run too,,,
  15. Just gone pale at the thought,,,, All the beautiful quite time sitting in the hide suddenly changed by the dreaded phrase,, 'Are you listening to a word I am saying or just staring at those stupid birds?'
  16. Thanks Lez, Lottery ticket in the wallet,,, Only down side now is the wife had a go and has decided she like this more than her car,,, I can see what is going to happen, giant thumb deceding,,,,,,
  17. Right, Got me a 2001 Izuzu Trooper LWB off ebay with a blown engine for £800. Was just about to buy a recon 3.1 engine when someone advised me about a recall on the trooper, called the UK Izuzu office and yes, there was a recall to the car i bought that was waiting to be done. Managed to get the thing to the garage with smoke pumping out the back and they took one look and have signed it off for a replacement engine! still in shock. The body work is 100% and now with the engine replaced for free I have a bomb proof toy for less than a grand! Happy days,,,,,
  18. Anyone make bread without a machine by doing it the old way? Just got the rayburn fixed and now looking for things to cook in it,
  19. Morning, Just logged on as part of my morning ritual and the screen showed red saying that Pigeon Watch Forums was an attack page and had been found to host malware from a pirate site called blamesllek.com (do not visit this site as it will not do you any long term favours!) and I should not eneter the site. Anyone else have this show up? bit worrying for this time of the day and put me off my toast,,,,
  20. Lez, I am gutted I missed it, I was out for a few days and then you sold it, I am looking at one this weekend, any tips? it is a 3ltr Duty with about 90k on the clock. looks tidy but photos lie so will inspect tomorrow. It has road tyres on too so will need to change these to something with some meat on them so any ideas what is a good all rounder?
