  1. I have gathered up £100 which i can justify spending on myself and not on bills. I have wanted a head cam for a long time since i first seen some of the examples on the forum and I am now in a position to have a go. It is all walked up woodcock shooting I do with many miles covered for probably only a couple of minutes of watchable footage. I would like decent quality as most woodcock clips I see are just a blur and a bang. I dont mind buying second hand if I can find something suitable. Could anyone recommend something in or around my budget?

I had one for sale. Still have it. Its a shootalite with mount and red filter. I have no battery for it as i still use the battery for my clubman light. Make me an offer. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/227738-cluson-shootalite-lamp-with-scope-mount-and-filters/
  3. I had an intercepting sear break inside the action of my side by side a few years ago which caused the gun to go off when the action was closed. Safety on. It wakens you up and make you realize just why you be so careful at all times.
  4. I understand what the OP means with regards to a gun going off with the safety applied ie if it is dropped or subject to a shock or jolt. The safety only stops the triggers from being pulled on a shotgun. It does not mean its safe. I am not sure about rifles sorry but would treat it the same anyway.
  5. Full refund issued today. I assume ebay/paypal covers this cost and the seller gets to keep the money from the sales? I suppose they will be "investigated".
  6. The fridge magnet stuck to my coin better that it takes to the fridge!
  7. Well done, It fair gets the heart going when you see the second one in the corner of your eye. I tend to miss the first one as Im allready thinking about the second. Was successful on two occasions this year. 5 times now. Missed countless times.
  8. I got a silver dollar today also. An interesting one too dated 1795. Maybe worth more than £10 although its probably fake too!
  9. Well done on you first woodcock, sound like you enjoyed your day very much.
  10. Hi phil welcome to the forum from Co Antrim
  11. No No I own a much nicer gun, lol. Well I think so anyway.
  12. Great bag, I bet the game bag was heavy by the time you were finished. Love the black and white dogs.
  13. Is that a Saint George? Are we talking 2 room bed sit or country manor?
  14. Excellent. Enjoyed that. Your shots sound like an M1 Garand ejecting the magazine.
  15. I will just stick with my damascus Purdey. Love the Purdey Woodward style. http://www.positiveshooting.com/PurdeyDamas.html
  16. I bought a pair too. See how it goes. Im sure ebay and paypal will stand over any purchase.
  17. Heres something similar, cheap too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mens-New-Look-Cream-Twisted-Cable-Knit-Jumper-Shoulder-Patch-UK-NEW-M-L-XL-UK-/330845644057?pt=UK_Men_s_Jumpers_Cardigans&var=&hash=item4d07efe519
  18. Cartridges in the 28-32g in shot sizes 5- 71/2 will cover almost anything at sensible ranges. Try plenty of variety to begin with within this range, see what you like. Fire a couple of each at a sheet of a3 paper and see if there is a nice even spread of shot at the ranges you are comfortable shooting. 40 paces is a long way. If there are big gaps in the pattern try a different shell.
  19. Took a quick run out this afternoon to try a bit of high ground before the snow puts the woodcock to lower levels. The area I was shooting is real wilderness wiht nothing to attract a pheasant at all. The nearest field is the best part of a mile away. I heard the wrecking match in the cover and fully expected a woodcock to erupt but to my surprise it was a wily old rooster. Got a few woodcock when I was at it. Made a nice evening. Gale force winds made for some testing shots. This is Molly now 2 years and 8 months posing with an unusual looking creature which she would not be familiar with. This woodcock was travelling at a mighty rate when shot and fell some 70 yards away at the large tree in the centre. My bag for the evening.
  20. Nice photos. Hope to get some snow for tomorrow. Makes it nice for shooting.
