  1. Barbour Trooper Jacket XXL in Brown Sylkoil material. Lovely jacket and only worn a couple of times as i find it a bit short for me. Its a nice big fit with 4 big pockets on the front and one on the inside. There is plenty room for a jumper underneath however its much warmer in my opinion than the old style jackets as it has a thin quilt type lining. This is in really nice condition as i have only used it to walk the dog a couple of times. I am looking for £70 including postage. I can accept pay pal or the usual cheque in the post. Unfortunately i have no pics, my camera went walkies on holiday but could text one to you from my phone if interested or a quick google search will bring it up. Thanks for looking Alex
  2. Hallways are great as its a wipe clean affair so no you dont have to worry too much about muddy foot prints etc. Dining room would be fine as you dont use it too often, it will be a bit noisier and also a bit chillier underfoot but nothing that would stop me having it fitted. But again food spillage etc are no problem Lounge to be honest i would steer clear of. It can make a room a bit echoey and chilly on winter nights Rather than the laminate stuff spend a bit more and get solid wood. Looks loads better and lasts longer. With laminates, high traffic areas tend to dull a lot as the finish wears off. At least with wood it can be refinished. Just my opinion but hope it helps
  3. Thanks for the replys fellas Will hot foot it down to the local shops this weekend
  4. Now just so its clear - I am a big bloke with legs like pit props. I struggle to get pants to fit my thighs and consequently struggle to get wellies i can get my legs into. I have had a pair of Seeland wellies which fit well but have split after less than a year. I am thinking of spending a bit more on a new pair and am looking at the hunter Balmorals. They seem to have a bit of a flappy seam bit in the side which may help as the standard ones i can get nowhere near. What other options will i have. Any decent ones with a nice wide leg would be a boon Any other suggestions (other than a diet) appreciated Cheers Alex
  5. Hi Guys My year old lab is a bit of a chewer. She is steadily making mincemeat of her kennel and run which is wood so i am not too worried, she has now taken to eating her bedding. We have been using old duvets but since she wrecked the second one i have taken them out now and she just has a sheepskin in there now. I have heard that it can cause some real problems if it gets stuck in their guts so i am looking for alternatives. So what do you guys line your dogs beds with as i dont want any harm to come to her. Thanks in advance Alex
  6. Join one of the League teams. They shoot all over the north east on Wednesday nights. Goog craic and a bit of supper chucked in Have a look on the marne web site for links
  7. Its a sad fact of life now that unfortunately things like this, designed to help people, are knocked on the head for fear of being sued. St Johns do training and it doesnt cost the earth. I would say that would be a bare minimum requirement. As for handy man jobs, i would be inclined to pay a proper fully insured tradesman, if not you leave yourself wide open. Sounds like a nice idea, just not viable in this day and age Cheers Alex
  8. Had a similar thing when my son was born. It had been drummed into us that before we went near our new borns or any family ec wanted to pick them up , we had to use the hand gel. Doc comes round a checks every baby in the ward then comes to pick mine up, i politely asked him to use some hand cleaner as he had been and touched every other baby on the ward. The look of disgust i got was fantastic. The nurses did however have a good laugh about it later withh us !!
  9. The Yanks ??.. I have seen it in films, They won WWII all by themselves dont you know
  10. PAST Shoulder recoil Pad This popular American Recoil Pad gives excellent shoulder protection. It can be worn under a shirt for protection in warm shooting conditions or under a winter shooting coat. Reversible for fitting to left shoulder. Held securely in place by elasticated straps which fit under wearers arms. Unwanted gift and only worn once. Still has the original box. These sell for about £35 from on line retailers Looking for £20 + £3 postage Ideal for summer shooting in a t shirt Cheers for looking Alex
  11. Dont use a floor paint like International, its rubbish. If you are going to paint you need an epoxy based one. Costs a bit more but wont start lifting after a week. I have done mine in ribbed carpet tiles, black and grey checker board pattern, glued down with a blob of mastic. They have been spot on. Think i paid a pound each and they were about 40cm square. Looks really good. I have to admit to being really anal about my garage though. If i have jars with nuts and bolts they all have to be the same or i wont use them.
  12. They never forgave him for Dresden. Lack of recognition leaves a bitter tastes in a lot of ex service mens mouths, my grandad being one of them. Shameful really
  13. He will have to do his CBT as a minimum, that will let hime ride most things up to a 125cc on L plates and carry no passengers. This last 2 years. He could do his direct access which will allow him to ride any bike but restricted to 33bhp for 2 years. This would allow him to carry a passenger. What ever you buy him, please please spend some decent money on kit for him. Minimum spend of a couple of hundred on a lid and a decent armoured jacket, boots and gloves. Unpractical to expect him to don the leather pants but a least a decent pair of jeans. Do not skimp and at least if he does have an off, which he will, you will never wonder if a few more quid spent would have helped protect him better. I saw a typical local scrote come off his scooter in a cheap lid and track suit bottoms and trainers, he was an absloute mess and is still limping 2 years on. Hope that helps
  14. I have a mate who lives over there and have shot at both the clubs on the Island. The one he is a memeber of is down an access track by a sewage works and does mailnly DTL trap and skeet. Nice club and a nice bunch of guys down there
  15. Marbella Oooh. I have just booked for Nerja in june. We are hiring a car so there may be an outside chance i could just happen to have a wee trip down the coast and stuble upon this Cheers
  16. I have booked the usual 2 weeks in the Costas for my family holiday this year but instead of the usual package we have hired a villa at a very reasonable price. This got me to thinking that if i could find somewhere nice in say, Italy or France whats the chances of finding a place where i can meet all the criteria of a good family holiday as well as possibly a couple of days shooting thrown in. This place would need to be in a nice area with guaranteed good weather, a pool for the kids and if possible driving distance to a beach. Sleep a couple of Families as we would probably go with another family. As for the type of shooting, either a good clay club or the chance at some foreign game would be great however not sure if there would be seaons to contend with and if these would coincide with the holiday season?? Any one done something similar or have any suggestions so i can look for next year? Cheers Alex
  17. I did it in a VW t4 van. Put side windows and seats etc. was a bit of a pain as some commercials wont have the pillars strengthened where the seat belt and seats mount. Worth checking first although probably not a problem with yours.

    Bike MOT

I know they are terrible. I have had to strip it down in my garage. The only reason i am asking is so i can get it fixed and get it back to the lad so its out from under my feet I agree his money would have been better spent on a jap bike but thats young lads for you, money burnt a hole in his pocket and he blew on a ****** bag o scrap. Cheers for the pointers, will get him to have a look for an aftermarket shock.
  20. I have to admit to really getting into this when it was on a few months ago. The new season started a few weeks back and i am hooked again. I wouldnt care but i know its absolute **** and yet i still cant help watching it Any one else want to admit to watching total ****?

    Bike MOT

I have a mate whos son has a cheap Chinese 125 motor bike. He took it for a test today. It has less than 3000km on the clock and its failed. Now some of the fails are fair enough but others i am not sure and if he had given the lad a screwdriver and told him what was needed it couldnt have been sorted there and then. The one that will cause a problem is he has failed it on 'Insufficient suspension damping' I have a question. Yes the bike is a bit boingy but there is no damping adjustment on it only spring preload using the castle nuts. How on earth are we going to settle it down or is it likely that any oil or gas has since escaped and it looks like a new shock job? I do think the guy has really gone to town and some of it is really nit picky stuff so would like to get it sorted ASAP Any help appreciated
  22. Yep Mondeo engines and box. Guess what - I would never buy a Mondeo now either I believe its similar money. Any car with a dual mass fly wheel cost an arm and a leg to replace clutches on.
  23. Thank your lucky stars. I had to replace one on a Jag X Type earlier this year Cost to you sir - A mere £1600 Not an uncommon problem either by all accounts. Car had less than 50K on the clock !!
  24. Really sorry to hear that mate. RIP
  25. Sorry but you are going to have to burn down your house. Its the only way to make sure you have got them all Or you could call in a pro to do it for you
