  8. I bet most long time reloaders have had shot in the powder. When shot was not costing a arm and a leg i would dump it .Had it happen last week so got out the dyson put nylon ie tights over the tube hold in place with hand round tube let nylon concave for about 1 inch sucking powder up hold tube over container . Switch vac off and tap .Then again till you have rescued your powder. Dipper.

  13. Been loading some heavy L/V loads with new cases useing frangible plastic top wad.Surfing the net on some reloading sites saw recommendations for card o/s wads 30 th thick cut some out of yellow card my thinking was to write data on wad so i could identify them. Loaded a few to try clays they seemed ok . on cleaning. barrels were not as clean as my usual cartridges. got me thinking with the thin card not much resistance holding the shot reducing the velocity a bit too much. Back to the drawing board.Dipper
  14. Yes used them in early 60s being young i thought heavy loads were the way to go even on pigeons.A small gun shop used to load paper cartridges with 1 1/2oz in 2 3/4 case with green bat powder and r/t obviously loaded on the low velocity principle. They were cheaper than eley also remember getting a box of eley gastight from stensbys served by old man stensby. Dipper.
  15. Went to weston park game fair yesterday didnt take tickets to stop me getting a new gun. I needed some primers and went to Norman Clark. Behind counter was a notice saying we will not sell powder without a ticket then went to claygame no notice i asked young lady could i have powder without ticket she said its a gray area wrote my name and address and phone no down and i was served. If its not law why do some people enforce it. Only ever came across this once years ago guy before me wanted to buy some 38 cal heads had no ticket so lady shop owner did not serve him.Local people will know shop owner. Dipper.
