  6. hello mark . no wacky backy for me and it didnt look big enough to scare a decent dog ,but like you say , i wouldnt want to pick one up.
  7. hello dave. ive shot a great many feral cats in australia as they as they arnt indiginous and devastate the wildlife ,but never saw one that looked like the one last night. after looking on the various big cat sights im pretty sure its a "jungle cat" only posted thjis really to see if anyone else had ever seen a big cat, as were all out in the bush all the time, so if any group of people should come into contact with one it should be one of us?
  8. i know im letting my self in for pages of p@ss taking now but whilst driving back from mrs hummers house last night near bromley in kent, just outside the village of tatsfield, i saw a" big cat". well it wasnt that big really but definatyely not a domestic tom. ive just been on the british big cat sighting page and identified it as a jungle cat. a beautiful russet coloured beast with largish spots. has anyone else ever seen one ? anyone ever shot one? i really dont think ive got it in me to kill such a rare and beautiful animal. it would make a nice pair of slippers though
  9. as a black ,muslim, disabled, lesbian, single parent of a child with adhd i take great offence to this thread and demand compensatoin so i can spent it on joining basc. or due to my circumstances do you think id get a grant?
  10. ps new regs state only condensing boilers may now be fitted. in exceptional circumstances you can get a variation off the council to fit a standard combi but there rarer than hens teeth and normally only granted if theres nowhere to. run the condense line to .and there is generally somewhere .
  11. Condensing Combi Boiler Worcester 26CDI Xtra for example Remove Existing Boiler ,Water tanks etc,Blank off existing Flue outlet with matching Bricks Service Gas Fire Fitted by a Corgi Gas Fitter Thanks Ive hello ive,i would charge between 1400 hundred and 1800 quid depending on degree of difficulty and attitude of the client i do this sort of thing every day and as a rule only fit and recommend worcester boschs. my corgi number is xxxxxx. where abouts are you m8?
  12. no government that wants to win the next election will build a single new prison. if they do it would be tantamount to saying "yes our policy on law and order is wrong cos were jailing more criminals which equals , our policys arnt working" it really does make yopu yhink what the news of the worlds agenda is?
  13. tam i think you, and any anti reading these threads should take them as they should be. that is as harmless banter. but let us not forget the rspb s own figureof a conservative ten million yes ten millioon song birds killed every year by cats in this country. i believe that if your cat kills a songbird that you should pay the same fine as you would if you shot a blackbird in your garden with an air rifle. ie 2000 pounds. i wonder how many cat owners would then say a cat was their legal property
  14. this is a bit of a dilema for me, as i enjoy my shooting so much i am not sure where i could go to still carry on shooting but also enjoy a MUCH BETTER LIFE STYLE than here in the uk shawn australia . 33 times the size of britain, 20million people ,less than a third of the ukpoulation. petrol and food half the price of here. more rabbits, wild boar, goats and deer than you can imagine. i shot geese in the northern territory from flocks that numbered in thousands. im sure canada and new zealand coul;d offer the same space , freedoms and opportunities as aus .if your a bloke with a family looking for a better way of life then stop talking about it and apply to emigrate tommorow!! even if the family dont like it, you will ,as the shooting is fantastic . dan
  15. shawn go to australia mate. i spent 9yrs there and had the time of my life. i came back in 97 for a long holiday with my wife< now ex> and at the end ,she wouldnt go back , as she realised she missed her mum too much!!!. it didnt matter that we had a fantastic life there, her mind was made up. if youve got young kids, aus still is the land of opportunity. the standard of living is far better than here and if you have that work ethic ,that used to be so prevelant in england, you will do very very well. your kids are at that age where they will adapt far quicker than you and grow up in an uncrowded , clean environment where you arnt stressed out constantly and cant let them play in the street. im back there in may for three weeks to catch some tuna , shoot loads of wild boar , and bore the darwin locals of tales of how england was once great. sorry fellas i still :*) l seem to be ranting. does anyone else feel just a little let down at the moment by our elected representatives?
  16. i like like you axe am still proud to be english but i think the way its going well be in the minority very soon.
  17. if this subject and all its associated implications wasnt so serious, it would be easy to laugh it off axe , but im afraid that this country will change out of all recognition within the next ten years whether the vast law abing decent folks like it ornot.
  18. well said axe . for a thousand years the british population has been used as cannon fodder or factory fodder , if theres no war its" get in the factories lads and lasses and make us aristocracy rich" when theres a war on its" over the top lads or we"ll shoot you for cowardice while us gentlmen retire to the officers mess" and all this time weve dutifully worn it . and the arguement that if youve done nowt wrong then you shouldnt fear it is absolute cobblers. when a government fears a law abiding, legally armed populace like the last ten < as shown by more and more draconian firearms acts.> then its us that needs to fear them!!!!!!! :< ps sorry for the rant but the tablets arnt working
  19. hello georgehare. ive got a brno model 2 its god knows how old and ive had it 8yrs, cleaned it twice and put over 5000 rds through it and it still shoots penny sized groups at 50yds. there indestructible and probably the best value for money rimfire around. you can get them 2nd hand for about 100 quid. ive got a 17 marlin too but my soft spots for the brno. dan.
  20. i bet thier ok for lamping out of though
  21. the black jag got me on the m23 and gave me a fixed penalty for being on the phone. oh well hands up , it was entirely my on fault . but it did occur to me that the plod was giving me a ticket for doing something ive no doubt at all hes, : done himself a hundred times.
  22. thank you all very much!! i was getting all morbid ,thinking am i half way or have i lived longer than im going to? to end that sorry train of thought i went off to my local golf course for a rabbit or two. no rabbits shot but did get a 120yd magpie with the hummer. the clouds parted, the sun shone and the balance restored . would you think it weird if i said my marlin was better looking than my girlfriend?
  23. where abouts are you going in aus? i lived in darwin in the northern territory for 9yrs and hunted magpie geese and wild boar. the shooting is fantastic all across aus and the fishing unbelievable . youll have to bait your hook behind a tree. good luck mate you wont want to come back dan
  24. hi mark im fine you? im still looking but had four thanks but no thanksis this week . there all either syndicated or have a waiting list of shooters. although very tempted i didnt offer them any money so some of what you said must have sunk in. ill keep looking tho. sussex lad very kindly offered to go lamping this week . il let you know how we get on cheers dan.
