  1. You're better off buying the TT cards rather than the R4 they update the software on them more regularly than the R4 so there is no problems playing the newest games
  2. http://www.goneshooting.co.uk/Targets.htm http://www.gamecalls.net/free_stuff/52_free_targets.html http://www.targetz.com/ http://reloadbench.com/pdf.html A few
  3. I would say for a cheap factory gun and load then get a CZ 527 in either .222 or .223 as from what i've seen so far these guns will throw Prvi's down range out to around 200yds reasonably accurately... when I say reasonably I mean around 1.5" groups at 100yds Prvi's are £6/£8 in respective calibres I use Rem Accutips in my .222 and they are now £21 a box so just over £1 a shot
  4. And herein lies the cause of the differing opinions of the countless forum members. It's the interpretation given by their respective FLO's that has to be adhered to by the licence holders and thats why it can cause the debates. It's not that the members are wrong it's the fact that they are ill informed. There was a Home Office Guidelines To The Police pdf (it seems to be removed now) that stated "These are guidelines only and are to be interpreted in each individual apllication" There are two FEO's in Gwent force and they both have differing interpretations so how can you have a basis for law when the same office will see things differently
  5. I was cornered into opting for the .222 as at the time I only had one farm with permission for a CF for foxing and it was only cleared for .222 and the owner wouldn't accept anything bigger. So I read up on it and the .222 is the benchrest alternative to the .223, although there is greater choice of rifles and ammunition for the .223 From what i've read the .222 is easier to reload and get supremely accurate and the trajectory is slightly less loopy than the big brother I've zeroed mine at 1/2" high @ 100yds which gives me a zero of 140yds and a secondary zero at around 27yds and I can aim bang on pretty much out to about 175yds... after that I get a 2.5" drop @ 200yds - 6.5" @ 250yds and 12.5" @ 300yds I rarely get the opportunity to shoot any further and never want to TBH it suits me for anything I can possibly want for foxing
  6. Easy Tiger It's not an argument  The reason I said it is because I had a visit from the police the other day, requesting to see proof of certificate as I had an incident on one of my shoots where I was threatened by a member of the public for being on the land and a scuffle came about. I made a complaint to the police and the other guy made a counter allegation that I had threatened him with my air rifle. the police came and nothing happened as usual Following day a police officer turned up at my door unannouced (sp) asking to see my actual certificate as a firearms incident had taken place, while there he asked about my gun security and how often I shoot Now when I spoke to the officers when they turned up at the incident there was no mention of anyone coming to see me about my certifcate as the details were obtained via PNC check It's the only reason I said it, and my reasoning for saying they can call when they want to and not to your schedule
  7. Not so, as i'm led to believe if they have reason to speak to you regarding anything to do with your firearms or shotgun certificates they can just cold call at your door
  8. Sorry I have to disagree... when you get granted your certificate for either FAC or SGC then you are a legal certificate holder whether you have your cert on you or not. You can go out shooting and leave your certificate in the house, if you are accosted by the police for whatever reason you can ask them to do a simple PNC check (Police National Computer) and it will return all the details of your certificate. I spoke about this with my FEO and have subsequently had 2 accostings by the police since my grant 2 years ago, and both times the above advice has been true. When you apply for renewal you have to do this a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the expiry of your certificate and when under renewal (assuming you are granted a renewal) your certificates run concurrently, so when one certificate ends the new one begins so no gap in possession. The only time you will have no certificate is if you have had your cert suspended or renewal denied.
  9. Our FEO (LW) has said the same, it is o.k to transfer ammunition as long as the person buying has the same calibre BUT.... There is one complication, If a person buys a full allowance and then transfers to your certificate, which is legal, but if that buyer then in a week needs to buy his own ammo then the RFD may refuse if they think you have already purchased your allowance. It is a matter of concern as the RFD apparently, can also be in trouble for supplying you over your allowance, but this is only solved if the RFD knows you personally as you are only committing an offence if you are actually in possession of the ammunition that takes you over your quota.
  10. Hopefully we're gonna have a bash over spring barley (I think ) Can't do early morning so we're gonna try late afternoon
  11. If you don't find a set 2nd hand try giving Norman Clarke Gunsmiths a ring for a set of Millet Angle-Loc Windage Adjustable rings They will take a 26mm scope tube as I have them on my CZ527 .222 with a Khales Helia scope mounted on it Around £45 a set
  12. I have a 2/3 gun shotgun cabinet, 2 locks 2 sets of keys if memory serves me right. It was my first cabinet and I loaned it to a mate when I bought a bigger one. As far as i'm aware he put it in his shed and never fitted it  I paid £70 for it but I would let it go for £50ovno
  13. If we were to kill him then he will never really pay for what he's done will he
  14. Last try before it goes back into the cabinet .... Maybe use it for part ex in future
  15. Just a phone call i'm assuming fella as I know the initial enquiry was a telephone call
  16. Well thats where I got the info from too, well through my landowner. He owns 3 or 4 farms (owns or rents not sure) and his son lives on the smallest plot (40 acres) and they had a problem with badgers and foxes. Now he's a lover of foxes unfortunately so none are allowed to be shot, so he contacted the NFU about trapping the animals and moving them 4 miles down the road and releasing them onto his bigger farm. They quoted a reply form DEFRA, stating that they are not allowed to catch and relocate as there is no policy for catch and release, and that anyone who traps a pest species is responsible for its termination. There was nothing mentioned about native species or ensuring the animals welfare after release
  17. From what I can gather you can do either fella. There's a guy on our forum who runs trips in Hungary I believe. He offers quite a good package too... http://www.airgununiverse.co.uk/forum/members/osok/ He can also supply estate rifles, his packages are all inclusive except for the flights but once you step foot on Hungarian soil he picks you up, organises hotels, rifles the lot When I asked questions about suitable rifle for Deer stalking and possibly Boar the two most popular calibres I was advised were .308 or the 6.5x55 swedish
  18. Would love to do a days stalking for munties as i'm told they are very challenging. Not having stalked deer yet i'm not sure but have been told its an excellent way to start. I have CWD and Muntjac condition on my .222 CF but wondering whether it would be sufficient for the job. Now while I have every confidence in my .222 for fox right out to 300yds believe it or not I have never put the x-hairs on a small deer
  19. Well the twist there for me is, believing that there is no catch and release for pest species, anyone who has trapped a pest species is responsible for its termination. Actually now I find out its legal to release native species, pest or not and the person is only prosecutable if they can prove that they were released without the animals welfare being considered. Is that right
  20. Yes fella you have to make a completely new application for FAC and fill in all the relevant forms and referee forms and new identity passport photos
  21. Last batch bought was £30 for 500 brick of Eley subs
  22. Cheers fella i'd be looking for 5 yds of the Realtree stuff If you still have it i'll PM you Monday before I leave down here and hopefully pop in to see you on the way home
  23. I could be wrong but I was under the impression that there is a law concerning catch and release of pest species, that law being that its not allowed. Once a pest species is trapped or caught the catcher has a legal obligation to dispose of that pest
