  1. Cheers all, I will be patient..... suspected it might be the case ! Anyway know how longs Notts Constabulary normally take for a FAC application ?
  2. Just a quick question relating to FAC applications, I sent mine in a week ago and the cheque has already been cashed - does this mean that the application is progressing quickly or do they normally cash the cheques as a matter of course regardless of how far down the line the application has got ?
  3. If you mean the Bear Grylls one then I'm afraid someone beat you to it - if it falls through I'll let you know. Cheers Radar
  4. I agree, this is now getting beyond a bloody joke and a stand needs to be made before it goes too far.

  7. Hi Carl, Welcome to the forum This is Leigh by the way who you kindly invited along to your last shoot - I had a cracking day many thanks !
  8. Top Man - we need more people like you to help encourage others into the sport.
  9. Blimey haven't seen them in years, Wembley Arena when I was a lot younger lol, I think it was the 7th Son of a 7th Son tour !
  10. Do you need a whole separate safe for ammo or will a gun safe with a lockable top compartment suffice ?
  11. Great vid, as a novice rifle shooter I found that really useful
  12. I had a cracking day there yesterday, I am planning on applying for my FAC and contacted them to see if they offered any 'have-a-go' type days as I have very little experience of rifles. Even though they don't normally do a have-a-go I was invited along so I could come and try some different calibres and get some advice etc. I was made most welcome and given loads of helpful advice and was quite surprised how many people offered their rifles and ammo for me try, tried most calibres available ! Will definitely be back when the next one is scheduled in hopefully with my own rifle this time !
  13. If anyone wants an invite for it PM me your email addy
  14. I've got it but to be honest haven't really spent much time on there.
  15. Having shot compound bows for years to a high level I have to say that's bloody impressive !
  16. Just a quick update..... I was supposed to meet with my new Manager in the week to discuss options but he pulled out the meeting, apparently he has been told that before he wades in changing peoples working conditions he needs to run it all through HR first so it looks like there will be a few weeks reprieve ! I think in the meantime I will 'arrange' a bumping into the HR Director situation whilst carrying a copy of BASC magazine seeing as he is a keen game shooter and drop a word or two in his ear I just want to thank EVERYONE who offered to help me out, I am hoping that it will all be ok in the end but I was overwhelemed with the kindness and support I got through PW !! Bloody awesome Forum ! Cheers Radar and Elsa
  17. Nice one, was planing on doing the same myself but struggling what to put in the letter lol !
  18. Another vote for the resin fix though do read the instructions unlike my shooting colleague who drilled the holes, stuck in the receiving end of the expansion bolt, offered up the cabinet, screwed the bolts half way in and then left it for 20 minutes when in fact the instructions actually said it went off in 20 mins ! Outcome..... safe very firmly affixed to wall thought can be moved about half an inch on the half screwed in bolts which now are set solid LOL ! FEO not impressed so he has some work to do this weekend to sort that out !
  19. Just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for all the PM's I have received already offering Elsa a new home if the situation calls for it - it has taken some stress off me knowing that there are a lot of good homes out there waiting if she needs them. As soon as my situation is clarified I will update you all. Thanks again Radar
  20. It's with a heavy heart that I type this..... Due to a totally unexpected change that is likely to happen in my employment (I should know for sure within a week or so) there is a strong chance that I will have to let my 13wk GWP puppy Elsa go as I will no longer be able to work from home and may have to stay away from home on business resulting in her being left alone for too long which is just not fair at all on her. I am posting this up to see if there is anyone out there who would be looking to take her on if the worst happens ? She is 13 wks old, comes from good working lines (see my original thread - http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/165271-my-new-gwp-puppy/page__p__1401473#entry1401473 she is up to date with her vaccinations, worming, flea treatments etc. I am hoping and praying that I will be in a situation to keep her but if the worst happens then I will have to let her go so thought I would see if there is anyone on the forum who would be interested.... She's a cracking pup and it will break my heart if I have to let her go but I have to be realistic and think of what is best for her. If anyone is looking and would be interested then please PM me, I should know for sure within a week or so whether I will be able to keep her or not. Cheers Radar
  21. Have to agree with what has already been said, let him go as this will show trust and will do far more good than you being over protective and like it has been said anything he can get up to there he can do anywhere else anyway ! (I know I did !)
