The field i shoot is between a rape field and wood.Me and a mate have shot over a 150 since drilling.Best day was 72.The farmer hates to see a pigeon on his fields so we keep going,in return we can do as we want on his land.I dont expect many more until the combines come out.

The same thing happened to me they were having it for a few days after drilling,then stopped.The beans have just started to come through so im keeping an eye on them.

I'm lucky where i shoot i can hide my car from view.I know someone who went shooting one morning,when he returned all four of his tyres were slashed. I had a heated conversation with a neighbour he said it was cruel to kill animals for no reason.When i explained that anything i shot was eaten by myself or someone i knew, and that if vermin wasnt controlled,our hedgerow birds would no longer be he begain to see my point.99% of shooters like to kill there prey as quickly and humanly as possible.Its the minority that spoil it for the majority and these are the ones the animal rights hear about so we all get tard with the same brush

Just had a look at a bean field there is a few on it, im going to get myself a pigeon magnet later so will have to go in morning to try it out.

I read in a book that human hair in a stocking placed around the area will keep foxes away =(

Hi nghost after using a red filter on foxes i will never use a white light again they will sit and look straight at you.Me and a mate go out lamping approx 2 nights a week.We go on foot with a power pack and lamp,hard work but worth it.We can position ourselves better and go through hedges if we have to.

Nghost do you use a filter.we use a red filter they walk straight up to it ive had them close enough to take them with rimfire

Im using .243 100grn real fox stopper

There has been some released on the land i shoot,i was out one night lamping.After rabbits with .22 a fox appeared from now where at 30yds.just sat there looking at me,had 2 more since good practice with new gun (.243)Do the people who release know anything about nature.These animals dont know how to hunt

Hi columbus if you gently breath through the widgeon whistle it will sound like a rabbit in distress its good for close in work and over distance.Tried a few but this seems to have best results.you can hold it between your lips and teeth and have both hands free.

I use a wigeon whistle works every time.you can hold it in your mouth and still shoot deben do them about £2.50 you wont regret it

Went today had one missed two, going tues morning they aint going to beat me.Just got new land need to do my homework at bit more

Not sure if this is the right place to put this topic. Is anyone going this weekend,if so what results did you have.I went yesterday,couldn't hit a cows xxxx with a cricket bat so i'm off for another go today.still got some snow on rape might be lucky

I fish as well as shoot.I think fishing is a form of hunting we seek our prey and lay a trap to catch it.I also have a job the anti's hate( slaughterman ) If we all stick together i think the goverment will think twice about banning either sport.Joe public doesn't realise what a large part both sports play in the country side.
