Spoke to gunsmith he wants £90 to do barrels take about a week

Hi barrieO,No mate havn't heard a thing.Do you know if he has a pheasant shoot,a lot of farmers don't like you shooting till the season is over

I spend a fair bit of time on the forum,i feel some of the threads are a little immature.I only post when i want to know something or i can be of help to someone else.I think that by fueling these stupid posts only makes things worst,if we ignore them they will get the message and move on.the real worring part is that these people are allowed guns

Just spoke to one of the farms i shoot,he didn't want anybody shooting the rape until the pheasant season was over.The pigeons are hitting the rape big time so he asked if i could try and keep them off, as long as i keep away from the woods.Going to have a look in the morn,see if i can get on a flight line.

Aled im not trying to cause an argument with hubertus.The way he bleeds them will do the same job as the way i do.Two methods same result.The difference is we have rules and regulations stating how we have to do it as quickly and humanly as possible.At the end of the day you want to kill the animal with as little suffering as possible.

Hubertus,when you stick the deer/boar it doesn't matter if its dead you hang them up by the hind legs.Insert your knife under the breast bone between the front legs and draw it down.By doing this you are cutting the main arterys that feed the brain with blood.If done correctly the beast should be dead in 20-30 seconds.You can stick them this way laying down but it takes a little longer to bleed.

It would be handy for carrying pigeons home after a good days shooting would pack easily into the bottom of your bag. :*) you could then have pigeon pizza

Hubertus,you asked why a hunter would want to stick an animal.If you stick the animal as quick as possible to drain the blood you will have better quality meat.I would like to see the way you bleed boars by opening the chest from the shoulder.I personally would go in under the breast bone insert knife parralel to back bone insert as far as possible and draw down cutting a hole approx 3inches this would give you a lot less meat damage.As you say the swibo range of knives are good but a little flimsy.

With a 6 inch butchers knife you should be able to do just about everything from sticking (bleeding) to boning out.victorinox and the **** range are probably the best for the job.Lot of these hunting,survival knives look pretty and thats it.Vim im sure ive seen a advert in gunmart where you can buy leather sheath's at different lengths.The knife i use is a double sided f.**** approx 8 inches more like a bayonet .

I personaly haven't got a problem with vimms pictures.All i will say on the matter is,if you look at them and don't like what you see don't look again you can see on the board index who has posted.As for giving the anti's ammo they will add more to a story to make it sound worst
