Just finished these two off , maple burl & walnut centre , other maple, walnut & purple heart centre , on hazel shanks , cut bits up on bandsaw & glued up , it's a cheap effective way to make a stick top .

Come up ok , needed fair bit of sanding, lesson learnt , pay more attention to block layout for patterning ! Nephew & niece getting one apiece....

So its raining again , so out of one table top I quartered it , as in the other block , so to make a full on end grain block , flattened both sides , marked cuts on the flats , ran through table saw , flipped over gives me endgrain boards , 1 1/2 thick , so doubled output ! Need edges planing& gluing up , hopefully make a couple of decent chopping boards , so potentially 8 decent boards out of one slab !

These came out of a cafe , table tops ! Bit tatty , but clean up well , very well made ! Label on one said made by classic furniture in April 2010...

You think that's big mel ! A future project, just on a 3ft square 3 1/2 inch thick ,all end grain! Thinking of making a butchers block table ! First need a purpose built router sled to tidy up surfaces ......

Just made a butchers block/ hefty chopping board in beech , its 15 inch x 15 inch x 2 3/4 inch thick , laminate , its heavy , someone asked for one , its decent, dont want to under or overcharge, what would the folk of pigeon watch think ?

The alder cut off is now a lamp ! Waiting on lampshade for the laburnham, antler getting worked with different colours.... Lampshades actually red ! Dont know why its purple

Rubber glove with the cuff turned over so it doesn't run down your arm......

🤣 long way off yet , may look for a drift wood type base , think reds & yellow with a green would work & a better pattern , got a few , so may have a play , ideally want to fit leds so be a funky lamp !

Mixed feelings, resin to opaque & wrong colours , base wise not sure about, to be honest not sure about it full stop ! Will think about it , only a test piece so not concerned...

Far as I can take the lamp for now , ordered shade & flex , made a copper boss , be pressed in flush & piece of old pipe , shade will determine height , hopefully turn out ok , just topped up resin in the antler looks ok but wrong colours , on going

****** off ! Bodge it & bodge it more like......

Stick about there , poured resin , might have to redo! Bit of leakage , see what's it like tomorrow...

AlI holes drilled with interconnecting holes inbetween the others , so can run wire led lights in the resin , did wire up , looked funky , but this is a test piece, got some older resin to be used up to test and see what happens & goes wrong !

3 projects on the go , handle is purple heart , ash & walnut , coming along nicely, second is a piece of laburnham, going to be a table lamp , just sort a couple of splits out , ongoing, lastly bit left field , I've got a few fallow plates , what to do with them, so its going on an alder cutoff , actually looks flame like ,antler getting resin , green at the bottom, turning ocean blue then purple at the top , hopefully light will shine through, that's the plan , see what happens next few days.. Alder with a bit of white spirit on , also just finished a chopping board of ash , with oak & walnut strip , which was kindly donated

I've recieved my blades from tuffsaws , figured out & fitted a 3tpi resaw blade , just experimenting, cut walnut & purple heart veneers great , about 8 inch depth ! Make some nice laminate tops now , so happy bunny .

Nope ! Old man , decent slabs of walnut, some 2-3 thick , got a piece of purple heart , want to try and get a few pieces out of ! Yours is ear marked for something special if I can pull it off ...

Ha ha ! I've just ordered set of new blades from a company called tuffsaws get good reviews, got some walnut veneers to cut...

I did my landcruiser init , looks good , be prepared to get it everywhere on you ! Even though gloves ! Washed off after a month !

It arrived! Not one of my best but hopefully shes happy with it ! No worries Nathan.....

Funnily enough my other is the dewalt....
