  4. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is one I have just finished , it started out as a standard beech 10/22 stock , but its been a long time in the making . I thought once I had the shape right and it wasnt so the stock went back in the corner to gather some more dust . Then one day out it comes again a bit more reshaping and back in the corner , this went on for nearly 18 months . Finaly last week it was a brain storm and its time to get the jigsaw out for some radical reshaping . I found the colours by accident at the hardware store , they had been reduced to clear for about a fifth of their normal price so that set the final plan in motion . So here it is . Dave
  5. Could it be that the urban fox is developing an urban camo colouring ? There seem to be sightings of grey foxes recently , I have 3 cubs on the allotments at the back of my house and they all seem to be grey , possibly the vixen as well , they certainly dont have any red / brown colouring , I live on the outskirts of the village which borders a town , so they do have access to the fields . I see them often during the day on the allotment if there arent any people working there . So is it possible they are adapting to an urban camo ? Dave

My partner had some bad news last year , a brief message left on her phone from an old friend that her 16 yo son had died , that was it ,we speculated as to how , I thought he probably crashed his quad into a tree . But last week another call and a chat , post the coroners inquest , he had been trying out this choking thing on the internet its a bit of a craze with the teenagers at the moment , she had seen the signs previously blood shot eyes and marks on his neck but thought he got them fighting or whatever crazy stuff he was into . Sadly he died accidently . Very sad what they seem to think is fun these days . Dave

  18. PVA is the general glue used by joiners , and cascamite by cabinet makers . If you glue a couple of bits of wood together and given time to cure then try and break it apart it will be the wood that breaks not the glue if its done properly . Parts willneed to be securely held in place during the drying time . Two part epoxy is good if time is short and will fill small gaps and hold well . Dave

  22. Doc Holiday that reminds me of something a couple of years ago I was on the A414 near Ongar in Essex we was stationary in traffic as the other side of the road was coned off for roadworks , a guy in a Jag was coming towards us in the road lane that was being worked on , he was driving crazy , he must have pinged a cone right into his windscreen as there was a six sided shattered section of glass in the middle of the screen , he soon came to a halt as there was a very large pile of rubble in his way . I was expecting to see the blue lights following him . Dave
