  1. Thats a good score on them targets, please tell me your doing the North V South Charity Shoot.
  2. As it was a Bank Holiday I expected it to be busy, I imagine on a normal weekend it won't be that bad. I'm just waiting for the scores to be published, as Noobie said you had to work for your score. I shot a 70, how did you guys do?
  3. I Agree it is a nice ground, but they should of had a few more helpers to keep things moving smoothly.
  4. That was a hard shoot today, very testing targets. A lot of standing around waiting while traps got filled up, it took 4 and a half hours to go round.
  5. Apart from the time and ingenuity it took to put that together, i would love to know how much that cost to build. Brilliant.
  6. FatherandSon, it would help if you put your location in your signature, then maybe someone in your area who shoots competitions would accompany you to a competition. The North V South Pigeon Watch Charity shoot would be a great place to start.
  7. The 009 is a nitro powder solvent by Parker Hale, but the stuff stinks. Or i use Youngs 303 which is a combined cleaner, powder solvent and rust preventer.
  8. A Brown scotch brite pad will clean the face of the action with some 009 on it. Looking at the first pic, the top ejector looks like it has some pitting on the rim that rests against the rim of the cartridge, that indicates that it has been rusty in the past. As for the light rust on the face of the ejectors and around the breech, a Dremel tool with a small circular wire brush attachment will remove that in no time. Apply a very thin smear of grease on the surface of these parts after cleaning to prevent the rust returning. regards,
  9. The 26" maxus is the same overall length as a 30" o/u.

  11. I've had the same, it looks like a tar spot. When you get your gun back from a gunsmith after getting it serviced the barrels are like mirrors, the answer.......fine wire wool. Get yourself down to B&Q its about £3.00 and will last a few years as you don't have to use it every time. Edit... What Tedster said.
  12. +1 Fine wire wool wrapped around a Jag and they're gone.
  13. So sorry for your loss, remember the good times. RIP
  14. Hi Andy, The finish on the Carbon Maxus is fine, i've put thousands of carts through mine now and its still mint. As for using 24g loads, fill your boots, i have a 3" and a 3.5" maxus and they will cycle 24g loads all day long. The critical factor is cartridge length, I generally shoot a 70mm cart but i've tried 67mm and they work fine too. But if you stick a 65mm cartridge in then forget it. And as with any semi keep it clean.
  15. Try posting your question in the "Semi Auto Club" thread in the Guns & Equipment section.
  16. If it works out of the gun but not when installed then the rats tail might be interfering with it. Remove the trigger mech, ensure its cocked then re-install it. The hammer runs through the slot in the rats tail.
  17. perhaps his head shrunk since putting them on. Is that pic taken at Hodnet?
  18. Spent the day shooting sport trap, now drinking cider and waiting for top gear.
