  1. oh right so a bit of a lump then. Looks relatively compact in pics on line
  2. Has any one got one and what are your thoughts ? I have a single 20g hush and it is like a drain pipe. The main purpose would be after the geese very early and in proximity to the farm house so noise is a consideration in the early hours. In the market for a new gun in next weeks so not sure which way to jump. Needs to handle steel
  3. Sure I read some where years on ago that country club had only ever rejected one claim. I think a staff member replied on a forum some where. I just renewed mine after letting it expire years ago but now I am shooting more for the sake of 33 quid be daft not to be insured
  4. I have a big old bull cross lurcher who never had any aggression what so ever and hid behind a tree from a pug once. But then time after time off lead dogs managed to nail him while on a lead despite me trying my hardest to boot them away. In the end one day a bulldog came out behind us and grabbed him by the face and the switch flipped. So I now have a big fit dog that would put the boot in first because his worried about getting nailed. So thanks for that
  5. Any one bought any of late that they recommend and won't cause a divorce. For use in flooded fields Got my eyes on these they look ok and cheap https://www.amazon.co.uk/Baoblaze-Floating-Hunting-Lifelike-Mallard/dp/B078SNZTZ4/ref=sr_1_15?dchild=1&keywords=duck+decoy&qid=1569745600&s=gateway&sr=8-15
  6. Mr tom awesome hunting dog and house dog but a real pain with other dogs. But such is life.
  7. Opted for the Howard Leight ones which came yesterday. Seem very comfortable and I am looking forward to testing them if this weather ever breaks. Off for the free boots hearing test today. I think I know what the results will be.
  8. All these rules seem to be made by people with no understanding. The best conservationists have all ways been the hunters in what ever there thing has been. Pre hunting ban the country side never looked so healthy. Now it is for the most part riddled with badgers and foxes. Frustrating
  9. It does feel like the end is coming with all field sports though. I dread think where we will be in 20-30 years time. Restrictions are constant and keep on coming
  10. Just to clarify after oct 1st do I need to do any thing to legally shoot pigeon and wildfowl in wales such as apply for a gl001 ?
  11. Has any one used these ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0797SW8VZ/ref=ox_sc_mini_detail?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A30JICNJ400KIW They seem good value. Ears are suffering at the moment so I need some thing better than the the ear plug things I have been using. Budget is an issue so can not go mad and a posh pair of electronic ones. No mention if the above will handle a bit of wet weather though. Another problem is needed to hear things when they are on
  12. This the first year I have ever tried for a goose and after spending some time and very early morning have managed to bag a few on the stubbles. But now the places where they were have gone dead with not a goose in site or to be heard. But one morning after setting up in the dark 4 ducks flew over the hide only a few feet up. The guns were unloaded at the time but it was a beautiful site.I think they were heading from the coast to a small pond inland. Not sure if it was a one off or not. But its got me wanting to try for a duck now. Wildfowling down on the coast is a no no as I don't have a dog. But I am wondering if I could have possibly stumbled onto a duck flight path. I am also think is it worth trying along small streams at the crack of dawn as I have a perm that has a stream on it. In the mean time I am also hoping the geese return as exciting is not the word. Half the fun was calling them in. Setting up on a good vantage point and seeing them miles away and swinging them towards us was quite some thing
  13. So when you make a subsonic is it just less powder to give it less umph ?
  14. Not sure about that one I noticed a big difference as far a noise reduction goes. The website above has a 15 postage on what ever your order be it 1 box or a slab so better wait until I can get the slab.
  15. Looking to just buy a couple of boxes online. Can't go to a slab at the moment and only need a few for certain permission. Any where else other than https://www.justcartridges.com ? My local shops have 12,s and 4.10
  16. Whats the procedure to unload ? According to the manual I have to use the chamber lock off . I have been making a right pigs ear of unloading so far lol.
  17. Do I just screw them on finger tight and a tad more ? Also is it advisable to oil the thread slightly ?
  18. Escort 3 inch magnum semi auto thoughts ? Thinking of it for geese. Like most folks money is tight so need to make sure i don't buy some thing I will regret. Basically are they reliable ? Thanks
