  1. I googled this the other day best mpg for a 4x4 and it seemed to rate Nissan Navara 46.3mpg Easy to drive, comfortable and capable of hauling heavy loads, the Nissan Navara is the perfect pick-up. It's efficient too, with front-wheel drive versions officially returning 46mpg while four-wheel models provide up to 45mpg. Factor in Nissan's comprehensive five-year-warranty and it's easy to see why the Navara is so popular with UK buyers. But I can't see how a big old truck like that can get that sort of mpg
  2. Only had one as a young fella. A pleasure to own and work. Tiny little thing and lived 17 plus years
  3. Nice one Steve only a matter of time. Just started my self this year and can't sleep looking forward to getting up a 4 Watching the switch into dawn is the best and then the calling birds in is an experience in its self
  4. Some beautiful guns in this thread. I have recently acquired a Ugartechea, Ignacio 47 years old and also a winchester pigeon grade quite a bit newer. The winchester has been opened out for steel apparently. The sxs are so nice to handle and quick espeacially the spanish one. First walk out with the Ugartechea dropped a surprise duck with a super steel on the first shot They make the old hatsan escort seem so unwieldy oh one question snap caps just pop in and pull the trigger ?
  5. Aye like you say start low and go up if needed. Its a funny old game asking to shoot ducks. Because if you don't know them before hand and you don't know there mind set it can be tricky. I spoke to one fella and he got quite indignant saying I don't condone the killing of wildlife etc. But if you don't ask you don't get
  6. Just wondering say you find a farm with a little pond it may hold a duck or two or may not but you want to try and feed the place up. What sort of money would you offer the farmer if you wanted to lock it down so only you and your mate shot it ? I know this is how long it a piece of string job but just curious on rough prices.
  7. These work well johnsy and easy to carry https://www.ukshootwarehouse.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=137_140&product_id=609
  8. I took a walk back to the river this afternoon and took a 15k bag with me and took a shot at 45 yards with bit better results. 8 hit the ferret and about 30 hit the bag so that is ok. A lot went low i noticed and a few 5 inch gaps. Cheers mr lancer I will give it a go. Worth doing because I had visions of nice dense cones hurtling out there for some reason lol. But at 35 its toast if i hit it and 45 got fair chance and then its gets sketchy at least with these carts and my shooting
  9. I just did a test and at 30-35 yards using 1/2 choke on a duck size target got a great pattern but then out of interest went out to 40-45 and on a box 2 1/2 feet x 1 1/2 feet was amazed only 3 or 4 pellets hit. Very surprised 32g no 3
  10. in sunny wales a t shirt a jumper a fleece an insulated army coat of some sort and a gortex over top if it lashing down. Have been out when its smashing it down and blowing a gale. Get damp maybe but don't notice it until i am home. Shed a layer or two if its dry. If I went out and spent 200 quid on a coat the wife would kill me
  11. Just seen this thread looking for camo as the camo colour on my escort stands out a mile. I was walking across the fields at weekend my mate said he couldn't see me until i turned around and then the barrel on escort stood out a mile. The camo colour seems very bright. Not sure if the ducks care or not
  12. We have fair old bunch of cananda come off the estuary but complete mystery where they feed. Impossible to predict apart from when they initially follow the combine
  13. Thats handy but i thought you weren't allowed to use a recording for wildfowl ?
  14. Very good tell us more about this casserole
  15. Been having a nose a round online just out of interest to see where you can buy them. But seem to find them anywhere. Just in case they grow on me lol
  16. Ok thanks. I only have about 20 and was curious. Opportunities to shoot a duck are at a premium so didn't want to mess about with any thing that might hinder me.
  17. Whats the score I was given a mixed bag of cartridges only a few but there are a few hevi shot ones. Are they better than normal steel ? Tempted to pop them in the escort in the morning on the ducks
  18. If the land owner happy carry on. If it was the other about away about doubt they would give it a thought

  21. So the importer in Hampshire won't deal direct and said order from local gunshop. Elderkins seem to be struggling to get a price. Any other ideas folks ? Does any one know if there is a compatible model ?
  22. Very idyllic. Couldn't get much better really
  23. Me and my mate just have access to a splash and just watching that change of light into daylight is superb then all of sudden out of know where a duck zooms over your head. Catch us every time lol
