  1. What has gone on at Basc , new officer for 2 months , no information of why he is no longer around ?
  2. Well at last someone has the guts to stand up to BASC. No they show no real interest in wildfowling ,happy to take your subs ,but never spend it , Sorry they do 2% on wildfowling !!!! so the rest goes to feed the trough . Have the EVER bought any land ? i dont thinks. So lets see who will leave ,next.
  3. Had the same blanc flight in Poole Harbour far to much water on all the fields, hundreds of WIDGEON on the flooded fields alongside Upton by-pass.
  4. At long last it has started! Went out in Poole Harbour 2am ! to catch the tide. Ran onto a mud-bank ,started pushing the punt ,only to have 6 Canada's come over us, guns in slips.................. Finally go into reed beds ,what a lovely felling hot sweaty but ready for the new season. We had geese to either side of us all morning ,all out of range, finally 2 Mallard came in to decoys ..... and yes we had them! Lets hope the rest of the season pans out the same way. Less mud!!!!!! what a state the boat was in .
  5. Best bet go to gun shop in Newport and ask . As far as i know there isn't any foreshore to shoot ,some farms have a lot of geese ,especially around Newtown creek. Cross the water if you can afford the Ferry!!!!!!!!!!!! South Hants Wildfowler at Lymington could help.
  6. Andy , drop me an email as we have a club clay shoot in July at Blanford Signal camp. Can arrange fo day out next season. bryanherbage@gmail.com
  7. Look up South Hants Wildfowlers they are on the net. Shoot the foreshore at Lymington ,close to you in Southampton.
  8. Hi Andy Come down and have a flight in Poole Harbour ,we shoot from boats, happy to take you out next season.

    browning a5

Hi i bought one less than a year ago, to say i am utterly fed-up with it jamming, not re-sickling. to the point i have returned it to the dealer,to be returned to BROWNING . A friend bought a MAXUMS ,exactly same problem, when returned do indication of what was wrong. I have been told that is company policy , if you took a car in for a fault the garage would tell you exactly what the fault was. I have an old auto 5 no problem, just very heavy.

    Pink foot

Just seen on BBC news 40000 Pink foot geese are at Martin Mere. Come on south!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has any one else seen large numbers?
  11. I did the same thing 4 seasons back ,bought 30 at the local 99p shop, they could not understand why i keep coming back for more. early in season use up to 20 of the hen decoys on there own ,look just like juvenile duck. best 99p ever spent.
  12. You really have opened a can of worms ! i would imagine the majority of the hunters are from the good old USA , if they are not shooting something to hang on the wall they are shooting each other. Just look at there hunting DVDs all hipe no respect for the quarry. its all macho.
  13. Hi went out in Poole Harbour 5am for morning fluckight , lots of thunder and lightning ,not best in an aluminium boat ! Noted very few Duck , does the above affect birds in flight ?
  14. Hi yes it was the extended tube, best patten of all chokes we tried. just wish it would seal on my A5. been used with grate suss ex this season with Lightning Steel.
  15. Hi i have the new Browning A5 and use half choke all the time,a friend of mine recently bought a new Maxus ,on doing patten test on both guns found maxus standard choke very poor. However they supplied a special duck choke, fantastic patten. Not interchangeable with A5 !!! Hope this helps.
  16. Yes you are correct no hunting or wildfowling in Holland , they have a big problem with geese, they nest in sand dune burrows ,so good old cloggy gassed them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Not the best of seasons, rain rain ,very high winds and all the ducks went inland from Poole harbour from early January. Early part not bad on teal ,shot only 1 Mallard in the harbour had my second Greylag in 36 years . I reckon it was that old !!!! so tough .
  18. Could the helicopter crashed in Norfolk be caused by bird trick ,geese in the engine intake ?

  22. DOG FOUND see full report on wildfowing forum , a good news story.
  23. Hi i would saw go for Browning every time, for reliability and you will more likely find someone who has one.
  24. Used for clay and pigeon in numbers, not on foreshore you cant hear wing beats , no use in half light revealing on sight only end up shooting protected birds.
