I only know one domestic house that has a fat trap, and thats Mr Camerons No mate, someones led you up a merry path by the sound of it and bull poo does baffle brains - there is no standard length. Sounds like you've been sold a pump station, drainage in & out, electrics, control panel, float switches, plus the connection fee to main sewer - was he's Mr Turpin Stops you biting your finger nails!!

There is no standard length for any size house I'm afraid figgy, the length of any soakaway/ leakage field is determined by the results of percolation tests. I questioned the 11.5mtrs as on a septic this would be rarely sufficient for any drainage to have any longevity, unless you had extreme drainage in the area required, nothing I've ever come across. My figure of 100mtrs was plucked out of the air to highlight that if you kept a trench level and use the aggregate to create fall then by the time you got to 100mtrs (can't be bothered to do the math) you'd have negative shingle in the trench based on the falls required for 'most' drainage situations.

So over 100mtrs your shingle depth would be?? Always have the trench with the desired fall and the shingle depth will remain constant and as this is a leakage field for a septic no real fall is required, based on this you are correct

11.5mtrs is very strange figure for a leakage field on a septic - where did this come from? As for fall, I'd keep it almost level throughout the run, get yourself a laser if it helps you, they can hired for less the £40 a day. The regs are there to stipulate where and how the soakaway should be installed but sometimes a bit of common is called for especially with the effluent from a septic tank - just ask the inspector why you need so much fall and if he's in a good mood he'll shrug his shoulders and tick the box, too much fall on this effluent will have a negative effect, its normally no deeper than 700mm below ground so not sure what the 200mm is you are referring to? Is the inspector saying how deep you have to be to the top of the the pipe or the stone thats around it? Where are you based - this what i do so maybe I can be of more help, just pm me?
  5. Wouldn't touch it with yours. I had the woodcock jacket looks really good but, one days rain and was soaked, took it back to the shop and they said 'it's been raining very hard'. I replied my legs aren't wet - was wearing Harkila pro hunter trousers. You pays your money ............. Forgot to add this was the second jacket, the zip failed on the first.
  6. Great, the one thats closed!!! But this was only the site address the company detailed on the P/O is still trading according to Companies House. Thanks Welsh1, pm received. I'll give you a call tomorrow if thats ok?
  7. Does anyone know or have any experience of the next steps? Bit of history- Fitted a new sewage pump for Nightclub in Watford, never paid the bill, went through the money claim online service and eventually won the judgement against them, the company never replied to the courts letters asking them to defend their statement and have now have returned the court order for payment, unopened, marked 'return to sender'. The amount owed is 3k and to be honest I've written it of already as this was back in Feb this year but I do still want to cause as much inconvenience as possible to the them and I'm not bothered if it costs a bit of money to do. I had considered thinking about an order to obtain information but when I started 'googling' whats best it opens up a minefield so I was just wondering if any of you had done something similar

    Full Bodied Deeks

Looking for some used worn out deeks for a little project, about a dozen will do well, less if that's all you got. You chaps got anything lying in the back of the shed that you want to get rid of for a decent price?

  13. Loads in Cornwall - where you going? I was on the beach last week and had to stop fishing as I couldn't have used them all as I was in the caravan - took 15 in a matter minutes even had some on the lure whilst trying for bass whilst they were in close, made some happy campers that night with free mackerel. They were less than 40yds out where I was so no need to punch the feathers out 100yds+

    Bridge Camera

Need some pointers here please gents, I'm getting very bewildered with all the options available but so far I have narrowed my search down to: Lumix GF6 Olympus PEN e-pl5 Anyone have any experiences of these 2? Not a fan of Sony or Samsung tbh, no particular reason other than personal choice.

    Bridge Camera

Had a good play with all the cameras and despite the changing lens issue that I first had concerns about, I'm actually thinking it may well be the best way going forward. The CSC cameras are much smaller than the DSLR's which is now leading me to the Lumix GF6 - the lens prices are mental mind so may need guidance with lens choice if this is the route I decide. Still loads to think/read about but the more I read, the more confusing it is

    Bridge Camera

The camera would be used on occasion, for fast action sport. Not looked at mirrorless cameras, that's now confused me again, just when I thought I'd sussed it lol

    Bridge Camera

Gents, looking to buy a new camera and rather than have the hassle of DSLR and carrying different lenses etc thought that the bridge camera will fulfill my needs. The camera will be used for fast and slow speed shots and general family/holiday pics. Any of you guys have this camera, just wondered what your thoughts and experiences are? Thanks
  20. What a load of croc, not only do the feathers keep em warm they also keep em cool. I've been on caravan site underneath a cracking flightline (Sod's law) and the pigeons have been moving about all day feeding on the clover and it's the temps touching 28deg. In answer to the OP, I reckon the birds have moved on just because they can and there's so much food about they can take their pick
  21. yes, I use it and have done for a couple of yrs but I'm thinking of trying skinners 23 as its nearly half the price
