  1. I understand, but if you are healthy, with no underlying conditions or other risk factors then you are very likely to recover, so intervention with an unlicensed treatment becomes a risk We are using many drugs that vary from the basic and well known such as the steroid dexamethasone, to the more modern monoclonal antibody treatments. Hydroxychloroquine may very well be useful, but we need to see repeatable, testable evidence. We will get there I'm sure, we have to, I need to get back shooting!
  2. Thank you for your kind words, public support really keeps up our morale. As to sponsored, we were not even allowed to take a tin of chocolates from a pharmaceutical wholesaler at Christmas for fear of accusations of bribery!
  3. It's more to do with do the benefits outweigh the risks? like any drug. I have been involved with clinical trials of various drugs for covid at the NHS trust I work for, and we are all trying very hard to find a solution, it's far from straight forward.
  4. Hydroxychloroquine should only be prescribed under expert advice, it can cause retina damage for example, current guidelines recommend monitoring at regular intervals. I would recommend reading reliable sources such as the BNF https://bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/
  5. Yep, Its co-amoxiclav, a mix of amoxicillin and clauvulanic acid, common antibiotic for all sorts of stuff! (Im a NHS pharm tech)
  6. I wonder what the alternative would be for practical shotgun? Can't use steel shot for obvious reasons, and other shot is far too expensive when shooting 150+ in a competition!
  7. Yeah the supernova is on the long side, and has quite a long stroke so you do need to make sure you don’t short stroke it.
  8. I've been into psg for a while now and it is my favourite discipline, and if correctly organised very safe (lots of planing going into course layout/angles etc). I think best way into it is going along to one of the clubs that does psg and having a chat and a look to see how things work, then have a play with your sec 2 (the lots of loading will be good practice!). If you like it then get a section 1, doesn't really matter which as the scoring is separated into categories - standard semi-auto, standard manual or open (anything goes!) so whatever floats your boat. You will probably notice most people tend to favour benelli (m2 and supernova). I really like the supernova, massive loading gate to make loading 4 cartridges at a time easier.
  9. Seems strange the Dr doesn’t really know, I work as a pharmacy technician and we routinely sort out nutrition for patients, there are many liquid based drinks that can provide all your daily calories, vits and minerals. Sounds like a review with a dietitian is needed.
  10. Aye, I think my iphone plus is big enough to count as medium format! If only I could find where to screw in the flash bulb...
  11. One thing I always remember is a tutor of mine saying ‘you can’t buy creativity’ what you point the lense at matters more! I’ve seen some excellent work, both film and photo, shot on phone cameras. That said, good equipment is very useful.
  12. Im sure it is much better than smoking, but as these contain glycerin and propylene glycol, if they get hot enough you could end up forming formaldehydes and acetaldehydes, which are carcinogenic, but there really isn’t much proper solid peer reviewed research yet.
  13. Id go with a second hand benelli supernova, 3.5inch chamber should you need it. They are well made and most importantly, they look good!
  14. If I remember my chemistry lessons correctly then acetic acid mixed with hydrogen peroxide will dissolve lead, but I really wouldn't as you'll end up with lead acetate, which is very toxic! I think the best way is good old elbow grease with your favourite solvent.
  15. I have driven a few, and the cooper s is fun, but they are just another car really, lacks the soul a classic has. If I had the cash, a mk1 cooper s is about as perfect as it gets, although not practical really! For modern cars, they all seem the same to me, we have a basic vw polo as an everyday car with is cheap and reliable.
  16. Well I am biased, but I would scrap them all as I consider them to be hideous abominations not worthy of the mini name!
  17. Nikko stirling diamond sportsman 10-50x60 for sale. Brand new, never been mounted £500 plus postage. I had intended to get into FT but unfortunately need the money for more boring things!
  18. I've been looking at custom Remington 700, I think this seems the best way to go. Im going to go over to Valkyrie to chat about a build in the next few weeks, they seem to produce some really nice rifles and David who does them comes highly recommended, I can't wait, feel like a kid at christmas!
  19. Indeed, I've managed to have a go on a remington 700, tikka t3 and a sako trg 22 and i liked them all! I do like the idea of a semi custom though.
  20. How do all, just nicely become a member of The Yorkshire Shooting Centre and got my FAC and i'm stuck. I've a slot for a .308 rifle to fill and there is so many conflicting opinions on what rifle/scope to go for that i'm jolly confused. I have a budget of 3k all in and I shall be shooting at 100yds at my club and out to 1000yds if/when I get chance to, I'm not into competitions I just shoot for fun although I would like to get some nice groups! Initially I was thinking of a tikka or sako factory rifle but then I saw some custom remingtons from Valkyrie and had to have a cold shower, I've sent them an email with my budget but I doubt I can afford one. So, any ideas gentlemen? Edit: Just realised this should be in guns and equipment, d'oh.
  21. Very true, i usually use 28g i was just curious to find the limits so borrowed a few light 21g from a mate, my other semi (escort) would not cycle the 21g with any reliability. I've also shot a few 50g bb through it and even those roman candles were softer than i expected!.
  22. Hi there, I've had mine for almost a year now and it has been faultless. As for light loads, well last clay outing i tried out some 21g and it cycled them perfectly too, i was pleasantly surprised as i was not expecting them to work!.
  23. I've still got mine, i got it for my 16th birthday and it's still going strong (im 31 now) it's very easy to shoot nice groups with, nice adjustable two stage trigger! After all these years and not a spot of rust or failed component, but you watch it go bang now I've said that.
