  1. Mine came with three extra spacers. I'm a 15" pull and if anything all three are a little of a stretch.
  2. WW2 .303 Lee Enfield No4 Rifle Bayonet & Scabbard & 37 Webbing Frog both in excellent unissued condition: £25 posted.
  3. One this evening with the HMR (taking son for his first hunting trip) Total = 2338
  4. Wow, slightly grainy or not, they are absolutely stunning shots!. Hearty congrats and thanks for sharing, a joy to behold!
  5. Seeking a Lightstream 5-20x50 Scope if anyone should have one for sale.
  6. Prices reduced, last chance before charity shop.
  7. Were having a clear-out and it's time to let of some of my old kit. All items have been worn but have plenty of use left in them and fit 34-36 inch waist, 40-42 inch chest and 6'1" Height. All prices include UK postage. PVC Waterproofs Size 180/90 - £15 Early 90's Combat Jacket No Size Label, but approximately 180/96 - £12 Early 90's Combat Trousers Size 85/84/100 - £8 Combat95 Shirt #1 Size 180/96 - £8 Combat95 Shirt #2 Size 180/96 - £8 Tropical Shirt Size 44" Chest - £8 Lightweights & Shirt, Size 85/88/104 & 41/43 - £8 Wooly Pully #1 Size 112 - £10 Wooly Pully #2 Size 44" - £10 1990's Personal Load Carrying Equipment (PLCE) Bergan in Olive Green. Used for 3-4 years back in the 90's (until replace with DPM version) and has been in the loft since. I have checked over the whole bergan and the single flaw I can find is the very top compartment zip has lost the first tooth on one side. The zip still securely fastens and is only an issue when fully opening. Includes detachable side pouches with separate yolk which form a day sack. The rear name patch has not been completed, I just added my surname to the front of the top flap. Plenty of use left for the next owner for a reasonable price. £30
  8. Ahh, wonderful story and wonderful moments Tim, thanks for sharing and delighted you both had such a nice time.
  9. Congrats gents, a great night and super write up with a great story to boot; I wonder who was the most surprised
  10. Thanks Charlie but surely that's just ridiculous, all restricting us to e.g. 600 rds of .17 HMR or .22 instead of e.g. 1,200 just means more frequent trips to the local RFD and a higher price?
  11. Well done BASC and thanks for the update David. Although a SGC holder since my early teens, I'm new to the realm of FAC. Can you share any of the reasoning behind why ammunition holding limits remain in place, particularly with no longer being mandatory to declare how much ammunition can be purchased?
  12. Nice one Andy and thanks for sharing, my daughter is 8 and my son 5 and so far I've steered away from taking them with me, I shall certainly be re-thinking
  13. It seems we're going in opposite directions Roger. I started with an HMR Quad (which I love), but want a quieter semi for rabbiting so am about to purchase a 10/22 from Welsh Warrior. Being able to take free standing rabbiting shots up to ~80 yds with the standard barrel (and rarely missing), I wouldn't personally wish to swap for a heavier barrel.
  14. I've been delighted with my Sako Quad Synthetic. Before purchasing, I tried a friends CZ452 (Silhouette) which many on the forum seem to favour. It felt good to shoot, was light and easy to handle and is undoubtedly cheaper than the Sako. However, I preferred the higher quality feel of the Sako and finding one second hand for £650 including quality light-stream scope, for me there was no contest. Many seem to prefer wood stocks, but personally I favour the lighter weight and harder wearing synthetic. The Quad's feel and balance is outstanding and the rifle light enough to enable me to take most walk-around rabbit chest-head shots up to 80 yds standing unsupported. If time and the situation allows, dropping to prone with bipod, chest-head shots are readily realised out to 150-yds. I have ranged out to 200 yds on the mil-dots, but with wider groups, only take on corvids at the longer ranges.
  15. Please consider signing this ePetition asking for more help for our service men and women who suffer Combat Stress/ PTSD related difficulties as a result of what they are called to see and do on our behalf: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/52697 A small but significant number of Veterans leave the Armed Forces with psychological wounds. These often lead to depression, phobias, anxiety, relationship problems and, in some cases, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Combat Stress provides a dedicated service for UK armed forces Veterans whose lives have been shattered by the horrendous things they saw, heart and smelt while serving their country. Their services are not routinely available in the NHS or elsewhere. Founded in 1919, Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity specialising in the care of Veterans' mental health. We have supported almost 100,000 ex-Service men and women of every campaign that British forces have been involved in since the First World War. They have a current caseload of more than 5,000 Veterans, including 589 who served in Iraq and 228 who served in Afghanistan. Their youngest Veteran is just 18 years old. In the short but sharp Falklands War of 1982, British Forces suffered 255 casualties. It is an immensely sad statistic, that more service men have taken their own lives as a result of combat stress since, than were killed in the conflict itself. More information about Combat Stress and the charity can be found at http://www.combatstress.org.uk/
  16. Good for you Una. I was fortunate to have had the benefit of a Christian upbringing (although it did not feel like it at the time with three church visits on a Sunday and two evenings during the week). Fed up of the 'restrictions' and thinking the grass was greener on the other side, I went my own way from 14-21. Far from the care and trouble free experience expected, it was the loneliest and most unfulfilling time of my life. If you are searching, in addition to reading the Bible, finding a local Church where you feel ‘comfortable’ is key. Some prefer to get lost in the crowds of big churches, personally I prefer a smaller gathering. The generic downloads common to many churches on our own church web site, will provide further thought provoking reading and answer some of the many questions common to most; www.cc-cc.org/downloads.
  17. Hearty congratulations that's some achievement fella! Such a bag makes me feel rather inadequate
