Hi GBS - still not far that as a duck flies By trying to getb this pond to flight you may lose the flights on the others
-
I would suggest if you have 2 to shoot and 1 to hold the birds i would not alter anything We scatter as you do and also have a feeder on the bank
-
Each to their own OB - but having been on the end of a couple of call outs - having my morning ruined - not to mention the deployment of resources - I feel it is a sensible precaution where shooting may disturb people
-
It can be a pain and also bad PR shooting early morning - but early is when the pigeon feed - and if they have found a piece they like they will cause untold damage I shoot crows - and they tend be very early risers We had a few complaints and i politely told the people of the damage being done and the alternative to us been there would be a gas gun - every day of the week. We agreed the disruption for a morning a week is better If i am to be shooting close to a house or two i pop in and advise of such - sometimes take a bottle and a few pigeon - And make sure i ring the police and advise them too

One of mine is openly gay - and a nicer more open minded chap i could not wish to meet Invite yours to see what we do ?

Its up to us - all of us - to lobby OUR MPs too
-
What a world and what a life some of you on here must have - everything is so negative Said MP has engaged with me for the last 6 months or so Initially very very sceptical about all things shooting and conservation - anyway after half a dozen letters and emails - and stating the fact - in writing - that although they dont participate in shooting they see no wrong in personal choice and would be interested in learning more about our community Why not try it ? If we all did and if we all showed our MPs what a Larsen Trap is - what a "pen" of pheasants are - the life in our wild bird covers - and the management we provide to the countryside free of charge - maybe just maybe we have a future. There are only 650 in total - i have done 2 Come on guys - have a go
-
I have a 20 bore Rizzini - its ok - shots lots with it as a lad - ejectors dont work very well Got a new one in 12 a few years after - talking 25 years ago and it was a nightmare for snapping firing pins - so swapped it in for a Miroku i still use now Of the guns mentioned the Lanber is pretty bullet proof But i would go Beretta / Browning or Miroku - some good stuff about for 4/500 quid
