Because the company in Australia has designed a 'back plate' to fit onto the limbsaver and then onto the rifle. I could just buy a limbsaver here in the UK and grind it into shape and somehow attach it to the chassis. On such an expensive rifle, I would prefer to pay extra and have it looking proper. Thanks. I'll check with the company tomorrow and ask their opinion.

No, sadly. I can get a limbsaver form a few UK companies, but this one comes with the extra fitting/s for my Oryx chassis. A bit expensive but I think it will be worth it. Thanks. Looking at the 'rules', it appears that I should not pay any extra tax/duty as the goods are worth less than the stated £135, and VAT is added by the company selling the product.

I want to purchase a limbsaver recoil pad specifically designed to fit one of my rifles. The total cost is £116:00. Does anyone know if I would have to pay import duty/VAT on this?

I too, on many occasion, have not shot foxes despite them being very easy to take. They were not doing any harm to anyone or anything. It's not all about killing them. I also hate to see a fox that's been hit by a vehicle on a road. Coming home from work on Christmas morning, I could see a fox on the opposite dual carriageway that had recently been hit by a vehicle. Such a shame to see them killed in this way.

Final update: I went to my local Ramsden's this morning, after speaking to a staff member yesterday. I asked for 11 Euro, but the staff member suggested that if I paid £20 more, I would get an extra 15 Euro. She also said that online ordering gets you a better rate (she gave me the online rate today) so I'm happy. I also received an email from The Currency Club regarding the issue I had with HSBC. My next lot of Euro's will be from Ramsdens.

I agree, but believe it or not, I've just come off the phone to the currency club (my wife found the number) so what the hell were on about, I don't know. I informed them what HSBC are refusing to do, but he didn't seem too concerned.
