  1. I've booked a taxi for myself, Warwick, OJW and Shoot and be safe (on the way through) for Monday night. I have also booked one for Tuesday night for myself, OJW and Warwick, shoot and be safe are you staying Tuesday aswell and need picking up en route?
  2. P.S after all the stick I got on last weeks drive, I'm going back to jeans and holey jumper!!
  3. It was £400 Royboy, sounds like it's going to be well worth it. On the Burnt Norton drive there were plenty of birds too, we could have easily filled the bag by lunch, on the first drive I stopped shooting once I bagged 5, only way to make the day last........5 sounds high, but I knew the next two drives and were I would be stood so knew I wouldn't bag too many there, but made up for it on the final drive.....we need to be cautious gents....... Ollie, I'm only bringing cheese and pies, some others need to bring treats and other things, I have got to get Warwick in the car after all aswell...lol....
  4. What was wrong with my last drive? Best one for me, I bagged15 odd, JDogs just sore coz he thought it would be funny to send me up the hill, which turned out to be the best stand of the day
  5. LOL.....where was my prize for best dressed gun of the shoot MR SNS...I don't know, half a job.....lol....
  6. Yes HDav £500 per gun for the entire day, excellent value, SNS on here organised it...
  7. LOL...would have been useful to tell you wouldn't it....£500 for the 100 bird day, JDog's company was more than enough remuneration (I'd rather keep him for a week than a month )
  8. Just a quick note, getting a bit late in the year now and season almost over, but if anybody ios looking for a good pheasant shoot, Burnt Norton in Weston Subege is very good and I highly recommend it. This is the second year I've shot it, and another good bag of 118 on a 100 bird day. I took two novices looking at getting into it, neither had licensesm but I had JDog and Oxford Fowler stand at their pegs giving expert tuition, the cost, entertaining JDog for a week....good drives, good food, expert company..... 9. J Dog can't access pigeon watch at moment so has asked I respond on his behalf...he says they are scale bugs and should be treated with fairy liquid/soapy water as above......
  10. I'll second that!! Love mine...got a mate been shooting .22 last 15 years, he's had two nights on my CZ TH and now put in for a variation to 17HMR
  11. Great picture and beautiful dog.....I'm jealous
  12. Thankyou for the input gents, again a lot learnt to put into practice..... All the best... Lloydi
  13. Ok, so it is possible to salvage then. I take it the only right off is, if the stomach contents went all inside the carcass, or can you still trim and clean that at home?
  14. It was the stomach that was pierced and the horrible green sludge that comes from it came out...It didn't enter the cavity, but went on the fur of the animal and then obviously my knife. It was a field gralloch so I didn't have a lot to clean or steralise with. As I am fully aware the nasty nature of the bacteria, I thought it best to be safe than sorry. Trust me, nobody was sorrier than me not to be able to salvage it as I had a few people I'd made venison promises to. The carcass didn't go to complete waste, my friend took it and fed it to his ferrets and dogs......
  15. Whilst attempting my first solo unsupervised gralloch yesterday, I did the cardinal sin and pierced the stomach, it was outside the carcass but none the less I pierced it. (Sorry Highbird I failed you). This carcass HAS NOT entered the food chain I immediately discarded it. But once the stomach is pierced, can the carcass be saved or is that the end of it? ATB LLoydi

  20. Fenny, you have amazing offers on here, can you move closer to Oxfordhshire please so I can bite your hand off When I think I can get away with it with her in doors, I'm going to buy one of your pigeon days that's for sure......
  21. I have 4 perms....my very first perm the FEO came out and I had to drive him around the land showing footpaths etc....as said above , the other 3 were already cleared so no need. If it's your fist FAC (Which it would appear to be) and the land hasn't been cleared, I would suspect they will want to come out. ATB
  22. Doh, make that 7Kg, I was having a blonde moment.....lol
