6x5x55 Thanks for the reply how much is a picatinny rail to buy and we’re sells them ?? I take it the rail is easy to fit ? I was looking at the wraith on YouTube some of the reviews were saying that it’s only certain rails the wraith will fit too 👍👍

As I said on a previous post I have been thinking of buying a wraith as my first night scope I still use a torch(caveman’s know ) My question being I shoot a older CZ 222 would I have to buy a scope rail to mount it if so any suggestions???

Fair point everything you said 👆👆I agree with But I decided to make use of standard steel thru my old S/S I try to get the wildfowl within 25 yards it is hard most times But anything further they fly on I just don’t bother trying to take further shots with standard steel I’m by no means a expert on ballistics If I want to use older guns without HP Then I try to know my limits 👍👍

My friend went to the game fare last week at Shanes castle just outside Belfast he informed me it was a disgrace not one gun stall no Wildfowling clubs More interested in selling cars,windows etc thankfully I didn’t go Greenshank I regret to say do agree with some of the posts Wildfowling minority sport in fieldsports community but I still love it

My friend shoots a lot of gamebirds pheasants etc He was using He’s 2 1/2 inch S/S FOR walking up the cover crops with He’s pointer I’m not to sure what brand he was using but he was adamant that there was more of a kick He was of the opinion that he had to go up a size in pellets due to steel ballistics That was the information he provided

Agree MM Brings us back to the original thread regarding the price of guns There is a lot of panic regarding older guns not being worth anything due to steel shot now il admit I’m not 100 percent sure regarding Damascus barrels as I’ve never owned a shotgun with Damascus But what I am sure is that most older guns (non Damascus)will happily take standard steel If I was spending money on a dog. (Pup) or a new shotgun I’d spend a large percentage of my money on a dog from a good working stock then use the rest to buy a good 2nd hand gun as I’d be happy using standard steel I don’t use my dog on crows but happily bring him out on pigeons and definitely Wildfowling

Agree with your 1st point you are correct regarding lead shot it has never had a impact on public health But if we had to move to steel tomorrow for everything it would not effect me one bit I happily use standard steel for everything in my old and new guns Agree 80 % of my shooting is free regarding vermin control foxes pigeons crows all it cost me was a few rejections wrapping farmers doors My Wildfowling is low cost as well Regarding joining fees in clubs All thou. I don’t shoot much pheasants,partridges that’s my choice

What and who’s intention it is to damage shooting?? If Your surmising Steel shot in old guns well it hasn’t damaged my shooting USA Have been using steel shot long before it became legal over here There hunting community is thriving

There is some great bargains out there my friend sold he’s blaser He bought a near new casear gurinni dealer told him not many people buying new guns at the moment good 2nd hand guns better investments

I think all clay clubs have put there prices up Talking to a clay ground owner here I N Ireland was informed that due to Brexit,coming out of the covid pandemic the price of fuel etc the cost of getting materials delivered (clays etc ) the rise is going onto the consumer Unfortunately can’t see this improving any time soon Think most people have cut back Myself included A gun dealer I’ve been using the last 15 years has also informed me he’s finding it hard to order certain brands of firearms from Europe!!!
