  1. 6-8 grand an acre round these parts but if small parcels come up they go for a lot maore as there are loads of people out there who want amenity land for one thing or another 55k sound steep though. Look at some of the prices acheived here. http://www.cheffins....mber-2012-259-0 I was after lot two but went way over what I was gonna pay.
  2. Please avoid at all costs the Kreighoff Hi deff combo unless you are a 95+ ex 100 every week shooter. Nothing entertains me more at a shoot to be squadded with an A or below class shooter with the aforementioned combo and to listen to their excuses for the shooting like the majority of us. I rubs chin and nod sypathetically "well you have all the right kit" .......... waste of money!
  3. Isn't it a doormouse and therefore protected?? Coat is lighter and ears are bigger. I stand to be corrected though. Boondock Edited to add:- Maybe not, Shoot at will
  4. Unfortunately was only armed with my PW at the time (pitching wedge)as opposed to my .30-06 otherwise venison would have made it to the specials board at the Hotel. Nice looking trophy buck there by the look of things. Cheers Boondock
  5. Great Pic GG. I was out on Saturday pigeon shooting on the edge of a wood, cammo'd up. Had nipped back to my gear behind an Oak tree on the woods edge to get some more cartridges and whilst knelt down two of these appeared literally less than an arms length away. Sat watching them hunting for insects in the bark for five minutes. I'd always thought of them pied but as your photo confirms they have a redish brown hue as well. They were completely unaware of my presence and thought for one moment they might start looking for food on the bark image on my cammo trousers! Cheers Boondock
  6. Just a general observation for those who struggle with rabbits. If when you shoot, the clay appears to be surounded by dust, muck, **** and fag ends thrown up by the shot then you are in front of it and need to cut back the lead. If there is none then you are too high. Cheers Boondock Bidwell
  7. Mick and Karen have done a sterling job since they took over the ground earlier this year. Those of you who have not shot the ground since April/May time won't recognise the old place (thank god!!) Refurbished clubhouse, Skeet layout, DTL UT new traps cherry pickers and now 100 sporting as well as the sport trap. Rumour has it a FITASC in the new year. Before you finger point, no I've nothing to do with them at all, just a member of the old club which appreciates someone spending a lot of dosh for our enjoyment in a time when grounds were closing. Prefer Lakenheath?? I've had enough of rip off Usher and won't darken that place again. Cheers Boondock
  8. Snap! Apart from the Carthorse bit, I prefer to be likened to Rocco Siffredi Cheers Boondock
  9. Bravo! wonderful photos. Boondock
  10. I see the Grand Union Canal is in flood and the local narrowboat builder is knocking some cheap efforts out. Cheers Boondock
  11. The two entries relate to the rifle and the moderator. Cheers Boondock
  12. Ricky, Look on the bright side (pun intended) at least you'll have a lamp that you know will work in the future. I had my 170 go a couple of years ago and when I got back home to repair it was suprised how poor the solder and connections are for such an expensive lamp. They are now resoldered and attached via the plastic connectors and I've never had an issue again. Cheers Boondock
  13. A couple of years ago a mate an I are on our permission me with the hummer and him driving. We both spot this black rabbit at the same time and he goes "shoot the black one!!" to which I reply "no thanks", "why?" says he, "coz it is blick" I say "racist ***" he responds "eh?" " you are treating that rabbit different from the majority due to the colour of its fur, that is not right". "Good point" I said and with that sent it flying with a 40 yard head shot. Not seen any others since. Later my cock fell off. Cheers Boondock.
  14. Yes it's defo a Coot. A rook don't walk on water!
  15. What about this one? Currently in the Hefalump enclosure at Whipsnade. Boondock
  16. They have one of those in Fenland Rural Sports. I think it's a Mountain Hare with a pair of antlers from I dunno what stuck on its head. Completely Fu<kin pointless or what? Boondock
  17. I think you'll really get into shooting and then wish you had bought a Beretta instead. Boondock

  20. Not good really, shot the second (I think it is) of two Handicap FITASC shoots at Lakenheath yesterday run by the notorious course setter J Dyson. I like the system he has which takes the score from a top class shooter (in this case Mark Winser I think) and then each entrant receives a number of targets based on the difference between their own CPSA average fitasc and the high score. In my case 14 targets. shot a 21X25 on the first layout which had my squad practically throwing the towels in. I warned them not to be too hasty and rightly proved it by posting a 13,11 and 19 so a gross 78. I think a gross 94 won it and that chap had a h/c of 7 so he shot well. Targets were tricky as ever with some dustbin lids presented which were blanked in the singles by two A class shots in my squad. £52 fee I know its pricey but I enjoy it and feel I stand a chance of taking a draw of the pot one day. Cheers Boondock
  21. Well my tuppence worth. I was in squad 13 on Saturday morning and began in the lane on stand 1. The first three stands here were sun affected on at least one of the birds. This could have been avoided by adjusting the cages to point further North (left a bit more) and moving the right hand trap accordingly. This should not be seen as me griping as all the stands were excellent targets. My problem however is consistency. The number of times I was straight only to miss the last pair or miss one or two early, then hit the next few only to finish the stand as I started was very frustrating. I finished on a disapointing 68 when it should easily been at least ten more. First stand on the way back off the stage, rabbit then long battue, was for me the toughest. I shot a three but would to have loved to have stayed to practice a few more. If a shoot makes you want to do that it has to be good. The valley. Holy mother of god. For all you lucky people on the way to Cyprus at the moment that will have put you in good stead. Had my usual probem of course but then the wheels well and truely came off. The rabbit with the incommer. Saw the squad in front all miss the rabbit and I never came close. There is probably close to a thousand rabbit clays laying down there which Dave can no doubt use again. I only hit one of the blooding incommers as well and that was a chippy one. Next stand was the blaze left to right beneath you and I scored a big fat zero. 1 out of 16 and I was gutted. Lost all my confidence after that and finished on a 56. My squad asked if I enjoyed it. No was the answer I gave because I shot so poorly, but in truth of course I did. The targets were excellent it is a shame that only about 250 people over the four days will have shot it. Dave deserved more support, however the Cyprus jaunt will have put numbers down I guess. With his Winter series to come I urge you all to get down there "where the AAA class grow" Cheers Boondock
  22. Yep. Will be there although I don't know what time our squad is on yet. (must speak to leader). Is it JD setting the targets? I presume so as he usually does down there. If so those that shot the Fitasc at Lakenheath will have an advantage. (get my excuses in early I say!) Cheers Boondock
  23. If it's still available can you PM me please. Cheers Boondock
