  1. Sorry all this has now been sold. Thanks for the interest..
  2. Primarily a "fashion" brand now like belstaff. I use proper army surplus stuff which cheaper and well made.
  3. Simoniz etc and other waxes give some protection but the proper stuff for the job is "Renaissance Wax". It was specifically designed to protect items in long term storage and is used by the NRA in the US and the British Museum. Super stuff and works great if when you take your guns out in t he rain! http://www.picreator.co.uk/articles/3_renaissance_wax.htm
  4. Yep still here saddler if you want it
  5. Near Halton about 5 mins from the raf base
  6. I found my permission by visiting a local pub near a large farm in Bucks and speaking to the locals. Got a bit of a shoe in as my mate knew a few of them but I found the social environment a good way to share my experience. Buying a few pints helped of course but it may be an approach to tryout. But leave the Disco at home! Good luck
  7. Yep, its a monster one! been around for years have no idea what I paid for it originally, just need it gone now as its too heavy to store..
  8. Just thought I would offer this up to PW members before I stick it onto ebay. I am clearing my garage out as its being demolished so some of my workshop gear has to go. I have a large cast iron engineers vice made by Record, has quick release and I think the jaw size is in excess of 6 inches if someone needs one for their workshop its here! It weighs a lot so would need to be collected from near Wendover, Bucks Would take 25 quid for it.. paul.jay@gmail.com
  9. Never had any issues with my winchester and it's well used.
  10. Hi All, hopefully a simple question. I want to replace the missing front bead on my old silver kestrel sidelock, does anyone know what the the thread size is for a replacement? Thanks
  11. Lanber is a better gun in my opinion, I would go for that over the Bettinsoli. Important to make sure it fits you though, a decent gun shop will give you the advice you need.
  12. I think this is better for not much more money http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/332165-lanber-12-gauge/ Solid guns, loads of spares available..
  13. It's a shame that bettinsolis seem to consistently suffer from problems they're a really nice looking gun. Nearly bought one but ended up buying a winchester select 2. I would think very carefully about getting one now unless it was very cheap. Still it does look great.
  14. One of the best and most fun guns I ever owned mine was .45 long colt. As the previous answer said a boresnake in the appropriate caliber is the best way.
  15. M2 ordered, will be in the shop on Wednesday next week, They reckon no probs getting it into the cabinet so hopefully all should be fine! Cant wait to be honest handled one and it amazing so very excited!
  16. Thanks to everyone who offered to measure their "weapons" for me, hopefully I wont end up feeling too inadequate with my small cabinet!! I really dont want to get into removing stocks etc so it may be that I'll have to wait until I get a grown up sized safe, but hopefully not.
  17. I will measure it but just wondered if anyone uses one like this. Thanks
  18. Pondering getting a semi for pigeon shooting and seen a lovely Benelli M2 Essential at a good prince. Can anyone tell me if they fit ok in a take down gun cabinet, its all I have at the moment until house renovations are completed. I dont want to be removing recoil pads etc to gain a few inches so want it to fit in easily in its main component parts, Winchester SX3 is also an option. Thanks guys!
  19. When and where is the charity shoot? Did I miss it being posted somewhere?

  21. That's just normal wear and tear. You would be forever patching it up if you repaired every little blemish.
  22. Done. Some of the comments are laughable spot the rant about Syria by some **** that can't even spell it!!!!
  23. Hi Leadlobber you must be close to me I am near Ayelsbury. Welcome to PW mate good to have another Bucks man onboard!
  24. You got ferrets now as well then James??? Nice one you'll have to let me know how you get on been thinking about it myself for a while.
  25. Personally I would go for the lanber. As said in the previous post they are solid and reliable guns with a good supply of spares. Bettinsolis seem to suffer from some reliability issues, have a good search on PW and do your research. That would be my view anyway but fit of the gun is also really important.
