    Weasels

Ah, OK. I always remembered it as weasels but could have been moles I guess - we're talking 50+ years ago and I've been known to misremember details from time to time 🙂 Cheers

    Weasels

Sadly, the only close up view I've had of weasels is seeing them hung in neat little rows on wire fences by the gamekeepers. I always wondered why they did that, I presume to demonstrate to the laird they were doing their job.
  3. I don't see that - their actions demonstrate they are in direct conflict with several basic tenets of right wing thinking: The political "right" refers to a spectrum of political ideologies and positions that typically emphasize the following key principles: Conservatism: A commitment to traditional values and institutions, including family, religion, and national heritage. This often involves a resistance to rapid or radical changes in society and a preference for gradual evolution within established frameworks. Economic Liberalism: Support for free-market capitalism, including minimal government intervention in the economy. This includes policies that favor deregulation, privatization, and lower taxes, which are believed to encourage entrepreneurship and economic growth. Individualism: A focus on individual rights and responsibilities. Right-wing ideologies often prioritize personal freedom, self-reliance, and individual achievement over collective or state-managed solutions. Law and Order: A strong emphasis on maintaining public order, safety, and security. This can include support for strict law enforcement, a robust military, and policies aimed at reducing crime and illegal immigration. Nationalism: A belief in the importance of national sovereignty and identity. This often involves a strong sense of patriotism and a desire to protect and promote the interests of one's own nation, sometimes in opposition to globalist or internationalist perspectives. Cultural and Social Conservatism: Advocacy for maintaining traditional social norms and resisting progressive changes in areas such as gender roles, marriage, and education. This can include opposition to movements seen as challenging these norms, such as feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, and multiculturalism. ~~~~~~ And it seems a few fellow travellers of these environmental nutters may have actually found their way onto the bench of the highest court in the land. https://news.sky.com/story/future-of-new-oil-and-gas-projects-in-uk-thrown-into-doubt-after-landmark-supreme-court-decision-13155934
  4. That scene at the end of Don't Look Now where the hag in the red cape slashes his throat with a meat cleaver...
  5. Sorry to hear this. I lost my Louie earlier this year and still missing him. Not planning to get another in the foreseeable future as our circumstances have changed since we got him, but if I did it would maybe be an older rescue dog . That way if he does outlive me, at least I'll have given him a shot at a better life he probably would have missed out on otherwise.
  6. Tell me about it, my father, grandfather and an aunt all died of MND. Remains to be seen if it will hit the current generation... It always hits me when I hear about someone contracting MND - I know what's in store for them.

    Donald Trump.

I'm not so sure. Seeing how spectacularly the lawfare is backfiring, and how screwed so many people are going to be if Trump retakes the White House, I think he might have an upcoming appointment with a grassy-knoll somewhere.

You obviously didn't bother to view the video. No conspiracy theory involved, Biden confirmed his corruption in his own words. As regards no action, impeachments are tried in the Senate which is currently tied at 49 seats each for the Democrats and Republicans, so now is not the right time. It's also in the interests of the Right to keep such an incredibly weak, compromised and unpopular candidate in place as Trump's opponent. They can also trickle out some of these salacious details in the run up to the election to hurt Biden's chances even further. A criminal prosecution after he loses would be the cherry on the cake.

Sure 😏 Let's imagine for a moment that recordings surfaced during Trump's presidency of Donald Trump conspiring with Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko to cover up potentially criminal activities. You'd think that would be a slam dunk to have a congressional investigation, shortly followed by impeachment and Trump's removal for corruption. Well... Let's hear Biden in his own voice conspiring with Poroshenko. https://rumble.com/v2u5kqq-wait-there-are-more-tapes-ep.-2031-06142023.html 11:34 - 14:50

Ah so that's about the Ukrainian corruption then, not the corruption involving the Chinese asset management company.

The DOJ, IRS, FBI etc are all in the hands of Biden's White House, let's see what get's pursued if Trump wins in November. Now, let's imagine for a moment that instead of Hunter Biden, it was Don Trump Junior who sent this message to Henry Zhao, the CEO of Beijing-based asset management firm Harvest Fund Management: "I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight, And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction," Then let's imagine that a few days later CEFC Infrastructure Investment wired $5.1M to a company controlled by Don Trump Junior. Then let's imagine, a few days later Don Trump Junior wired $1.4M to a consulting firm owned by his uncle, Donald Trump's brother. Are you really going to try to tell us the DOJ and Fanni Willis, Alvin Bragg, Jack Smith et-al would just smile and say "move along folks, nothing to see here"? ~~~ IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley Jr., who oversaw the agency's probe into Hunter Biden: "Whatever the motivations, at every stage decisions were made that had the effect of benefiting the subject of the investigation," Shapley said. "These decisions included slow-walking investigative steps, not allowing enforcement actions to be executed, limiting investigators’ line of questioning for witnesses, misleading investigators on charging authority, delaying any and all actions months before elections to ensure the investigation did not go overt well before policy memorandum mandated the pause. These are just only a few examples," ~~~ PS: Who's the Russian mole you were referring to?

Falsifying business records is a misdemeanour in New York, not a felony, and the statute of limitations is just two years. They were only able to bring this issue up in 2024 by attempting to link it to an alleged but undefined crime. i.e. One of the 34 counts: "The defendant, in the County of New York and elsewhere, on or about February 14, 2017, with intent to defraud and intent to commit another crime and aid and conceal the commission thereof, made and caused a false entry in the business records of an enterprise, to wit, an invoice from Michael Cohen dated February 14, 2017, marked as a record of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, and kept and maintained by the Trump Organization." So Trump, or more likely his accounts department, received an invoice in the mail and recorded it in their books per standard procedure and that's a felony? Explain that Trumpster, you felon! The other indictments are just pages and pages of the same inane nonsense. And if they go after Trump for a nothingburger, why is no-one talking about the Biden family corruption "ten percent for the big guy".

    You may be correct...
  15. An aspect of this I found interesting is they got my entrance and exit on ANPR cameras (just 12 minutes apart - if I'd been out 2 mins earlier I'd probably have escaped the ticket as the industry code of practice is supposed to allow a 10 min grace period in case you can't find a space, or realise you don't have a means to pay etc). However in that particular car park, the payment machines do not require you to enter your vehicle registration, so how do they match a registration number to the fact of non-payment? As I was likely only parked for 8-9 minutes, I must have been incredibly unlucky if a parking attendant happened to check my car for a ticket right then, given it's a large park with hundreds of spaces. I suspect they have CCTV watching for people getting out of their cars and heading into a shop rather than the payment machine. I've heard online of people complaining that they went to a shop for change for the machine, paid for a ticket, but still got a PCN for parking without displaying a valid ticket.
  16. So sorry to hear this. I know it hurts, but take comfort knowing he was living the life with you right up to the final week.

    Fury v Usyk

Maybe one day AI will teach us how to do time travel and we can send peak Usyk back to fight peak Tyson etc and end all this speculation 🤔😀
  18. Actually, it looks like I went off half-cocked on this one 😕 I went back to the car park today to take some photos of signage etc and realised one of the images on the PCN has features that don't match the entrance to the car park I thought the ticket related to. So I think the ticket actually relates to a visit to another part of the car park on a different day. On that occasion I was pretty stressed - my wife had me returning a couple of suitcases to TK-MAXX that she'd ordered online and decided not to keep. I was probably too busy thinking about the logistics of how to hump these 2 huge boxes into the shop, and either forgot to buy a ticket or absent-mindedly stuffed it in my pocket instead of putting it on the dashboard. So mea-culpa & apologies for creating a non-thread.
  19. A couple of weeks ago I stopped at a shopping centre on my way home from work. On returning to the car-park I paid at the machine. The charge was only 50p as I'd only been away for 20mins. I didn't have exact change so inserted a £1 coin, and the machine issued 50p change (which surprised me a little but helped me remember the event). The machine then told me to proceed to the exit, and the barrier lifted allowing me to leave. Yesterday I received a parking charge notice claiming I hadn't paid and demanding £100, reduced to £60 for good behaviour if I paid within 9 days. Wondering if anything like this has happened to anyone else and how you responded? I'm going to appeal stating that I paid and since their machine did not issue a receipt, the burden of proof rests with them to demonstrate that I did not. It was also within their power to prevent me leaving without paying since they had a barrier in operation, so lifting the barrier to allow me to exit the car-park could be construed as their acknowledgement that payment had been received. I've considered paying it and just moving on to avoid the unpleasantness of being chased by debt collectors or taken to court but this has really ticked me off. Any thoughts?
  20. And...? The Black Book of Communism, a postmortem of communist atrocities compiled by European and American academics in 1997, concluded that the human cost of genocides, extrajudicial executions, deportations, and artificial famines stood at over 94 million. While religious wars and pogroms have been going on since time immemorial the perpetrators lacked the means to inflict death on the industrial scale we saw in the 20th century. For example the Crusades, probably one of the biggest ever religious wars, claimed "only" 1 million lives over the course of 200 years. Prior to the advent of Islam in the 7th century, Jews and Arabs generally lived peacefully together in most areas. So the enmity and killings we see today didn't exist for most of human existence.
  21. I think you will find old age and disease take the biscuit for that.. Communism would likely take 2nd place if you factor in the consequential deaths of events like the Great Leap Forward.
  22. Would the regulations be any more lenient if game meat was being sold on for pet food? I no longer have my dog but often thought I'd rather be feeding him some real meat than the (don't know what's in them) commercial foods. And then you see what stuff like pigs ears and trotters fetches in the pet stores...
  23. I'm glad they banned that, cruel cruel sport... 😛
