Hi jonty I get the pigs back tomorrow so I may have run of time on this occasion unless you can freeze the leg to use at a different time I will get the cure I need as I am planning to do the same next year and get some more pigs in any ideas for the heart and lungs faggots may be thanks for your help

  4. Hi jonty the cure will have supacure dry bacon /ham curing salts there is no description of the ingredients
  5. I got it from weschenfelder so I assume it it all ready mixed I was going to salt the joint then vacuum pack and turn every day whilst in the fridge I have muslin to wrap the ham will it be ok in my garage thanks

Hi jonty that would be great I get them back Friday I have enjoyed rearing them from 8 weeks watching them feed and there different habbits .Knowing that every thing I put in I am going to get out they were finished mainly on rolled oats and Bramerley apples and various othervegetable treats Iam going to enjoy the end product just as much as I have rearing them I plan on cureing may be a leg defanately joules and some shoulder for bacon .I have curing salt some seasonings for different sausage but any recapies for cure will be much appreciated it’s going to be a busy Friday night and into Saturday I rekon thanks for the reply’s
  7. Well Walker 570 I am planning to use as much as I can and what you have described is just what my grandparents did in there pit community of east howel and I believe every one got a share of the pig good times I believe thanks for the reply

  9. Thanks stoggieman I am hoping to succeed in curing some hams and some bacon on my journey with the meat from these pigs I have enjoyed rearing and hope to get the most out of them
  10. Already had curing ideas on the joules orders casings seasoning for sausages anyone got recipes for fagotts cure for hams any advice techniques will be welcome with open arms
  11. Let your pigeons sit in a bag or bin for a good while I have baited quite a few in with pigeons even rotted with maggots coming out the smellyer the better and if the carcass is decomposed it’s harder to take away so you can get a shot hope you catch up with him soon

Hi jonty yes someone else recommended that supplier I just wondered if you had any you had used yes I have enjoyed rearing the pigs but I am also looking forward to eating them I don’t want to waste any of it was thinking of a pigs cheek broan but I like the sound of your cue better thanks for your reply

Thanks for all the responses we came to the same conclusion it wasn’t going ahead as there information on the web was last years cancellation and previous fairs nothing up to date which I thought was a bad way to promote something that is getting less popular with people who enjoy their pursuits in the field .The shooting show would have been a better day out for me but it’s our anniversary and are away up the lakes and she won’t do a detour on Sunday across to donny thanks again
  18. That’s the thing it’s confusing what is actually going to be on offer after I read the bad reports from Ragly hall which is where we normally visit but due to other commitments we did not go

  21. Out pigeon shooting yesterday brood of partridge with their pairents just able to fly we don’t start our rough shoot until November and still watch out for young birds birds maybe having 2posibly 3 broods with warm weather from early February
