  1. Stick with a 525 action,as this is what you are used to.the 725's handle completely differetly.πŸ‘
  2. All the above are good suggestions.a friend of mine has a chapuis c35, lovely gun for carrying but way too light for a busy peg.or indeed the extra thump from steel cartridges.i would stick with a Browning,as you know the feel of them and they obviously suit you. P.s. I also 'get' what you mean about a game gun.it should look nice as well as shooting nicely.
  3. Well foxhunter1 you have excelled yourself.what an absolute tit!
  4. 4 less pigeon, thanks to your crop protection.waste of time? Surely not .
  5. Correct.that is what it should be about.having an enjoyable day.it would seem that foxhunter1 and his ilk are only in it for the numbers.in which case, why not shoot clays.as for harassing ladyjack about his day,all I can say is .what a πŸ””end !
  6. For goodness sake, let it go.as long as a good enjoyable day was had.what does it matter how many were shot?
  7. He doesn't have guns for you to try but speak with Brian at bk webster.he is a superb gunsmith and gun fitter.he can also modify pretty much any gun,if needed.
  8. Kelbrook would be nearer.might be worth a look, Michael meggison(the owner),is spot on with fitting too.
  9. A friend of mine has the ultraleggaro.seems lighter than I remember my ultralight to have been.kicks like a donkey, even with light game loads
  10. The recoil was way too much over 30gram cartridges
  11. I had one of the very first ones, years ago.definetly wouldn't shoot more than 30gram loads through one.
  12. No you don't have to be.i certainly would not shoot without insurance but I suppose plenty do.
  13. You are right.if we don't try, then how can we complain? It's always the same, the people who sit on their hands are always the ones to complain-to anybody except those who they should have. It has a lot to do with shooting.ask the people who have lost their renewal on a lease.ask the people who go beating, shooting, run the local pub,b&b,petrol station etc. Or even ask a non shooting true naturalist, for they will know the benefits that shooting brings
  14. No.oil rubbed but as with most things can be better Brand new, finished as it came from browning
  15. Yes,a lot presume that because they sell guns that they are Smith's.they are not.in fact in my experience a lot of them don't even know about guns!
  16. Not a smith,a shop.its also 300 miles away as I bought it when on holiday πŸ‘
  17. I'm sure that any of the shooting organisations include this.ngo, basic,ca ,cpsa, scpsa, gwct, etc. Why would anyone be shooting without being a member of at least one of the above?
  18. Any recommendations for someone to give my stock a nice oil finish? This is a new gun with nice wood, which would look even better with a good oil finish, before the season starts. I'm based lancs/Yorkshire border and wouldn't consider posting it anywhere. T.I.A.
  19. There's a stock and forend on the bay
  20. Ask them to wattsap/email you their license.before you do anything.this has worked for me.
  21. It's not just grouse shooting.i know someone on a pheasant syndicate.united utilities have said that they are not renewing any leases after this season.a very sad state of affairs
