Brandon Wood Clay Shooting, formerly known as Gorse Lodge near Stubton in Lincolnshire is re-opening soon under new management. New owner Mark Crane with the assistance of former County and England Shooting Team member Richard Gray are working hard to have the ground ready to receive visitors at the end of July. The ground will be open for practice, tuition and corporate entertainment. The emphasis will be on enjoyment in a relaxed atmosphere with killable targets in a game shooting setting. with driven birds from both the famous Brandon Grouse Butts and the renowned 90ft tower, shooters can be assured of a regular variety of targets in and around this wonderful woodland setting. Look for "Brandon Wood Clay Shooting" on Facebook.

Spring rape has been up for about a fortnight without much interest from pigeons, visited a field yesterday at about 1.30pm to find a few birds dropping in, set up with 15 dead birds and a turbo flapper. birds trickled in all afternoon until 6.30 pm. Packed up with a useful 82 in the bag. It goes to show that the pigeons don't always hit a field straight away, going to look at some other fields tomorrow but may end up back there.

I am putting together another one day decoying course in Lincolnshire, as before it will cover everything from finding flight lines, the law, and the practical side to a days decoying, it will also include that all important "Getting Permission" It will be held on a 3,000 acre estate near Lincoln. I have been decoying pigeons for over forty years, and though still learning i can help the novice and the more experienced gun shoot more pigeons. I must point out that this is not a day out shooting, but a fully instructed training day with the emphasis on how to put more birds in the bag. The cost for the day is £55 inc tea and coffee. The date is not yet fixed but will be a Sunday. If you are interested please PM me ASAP. I look forward to hearing from you. Richard Gray.

Hello all, I'm looking to get my foot in the permissions door in the South Lincs / North Norfolk area. I am aware in similar posts it has been considered bad practice to use the first post on this forum as a request for permissions, nevertheless thats what this is. I'm 24 and serve full time in the Royal Air Force in Norfolk, I hold my section 2 cert and BASC membership. I have spent an arm and a leg shooting clays over the years and would like to spend more time in the fields than at shooting grounds. Anyone requiring more detailed info please let me know. Cheers, SS
