pigeon controller
DB has been working in Bolton last week and has kept an eye on some bean fields from the motorway. he finished early on friday and we drove to the fields. ( one on the left and two on the right of the motorway). After a phone call we had permission to shoot so we decided to shoot the smaller field and spook the birds onto the two other fields. This was difficult due to the wind off our backs and the sun in our faces. We just used a single magnet in line with the sun and shot to the left and right. Between 15.00 and 16.30 we picked up 138 with all the other birds all over on the other two fields. Picked DB up at 09.00 and drove to the other two fields loads of birds on the field started to set up and realised that I'd left the magnet battery in the garage on charge!!!. We set up with ten real birds from the day before. For thirty minuted no birds returned so I decided to drive home and get the battery, which I did and set up the magnet DB had shot approx 25 while I'd been away. We had a few helicopters flying up and down and this disturbed the birds from the small field we had shot yesterday. DB then managed the break the fore end off his gun and had the use the auto, he managed three threes during the rest of the afternoon. None of the birds decoyed with confidence but all were high or passing shots which made some great shooting. We ended the day with 296 it was well worth the drive, I've got over the thousand in the freezers again and will have to visit the game dealer.
