SSS
Finally, the time has come for my 'visit'. To be honest, I'm prepared but still ******** it. Hopefully, everything will go OK. Any last minute advice will be appreciated. Regards, Sam

Didn't Thompson shoot himself? Perhaps you shouldn't remention to the man that you're a fan...
njc110381
Don't worry, you're not trying to talk yourself out of a murder charge! He'll just come around for a chat, no big deal. As long as you know the very basics of shooting (don't lick crud off the end of the barrel when the gun is loaded etc) you'll be fine Seriously, it's pretty much an informal chat to check that you've got everything covered on your application. They may discuss the amount of ammo you wish to hold or your choice of guns (in the case of a FAC) or just what you plan to shoot with it if it's a shotgun.

SSS
You were all right, nothing to worry about. He came in, checked my cabinet then sat down for a chat. He didnt want a cuppa tho. I even went and bought chocolate hobnobs for him. Never mind, at least I have some dcent biccies for myself. I originally applied for .22rf and .22-250. He gave me some advice and I settled on .22rf to start off with. It will teach me some gun safety. I'll have to pay for variation a few months down the line but I dont mind. I have no 'mentor' conditions, it will be semi-open (anywhere deemed safe to shoot by the cheif police officer) and the ticket should be on my doorstep in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for all the advice, and for those who are applying for the grant of an FAC, i am now obliged to say DONT WORRY Regards, Sam
