MerseaDavid
For the past 3 years down on my farms we have had hardly any acorns until this year where every tree is covered in them and the pigeons are loving it. The pigeons did hit the rape for a while but they soon found the acorns and we are now just shooting them in the woods or oak lines.
AVB
Lots of acorns here. Also saw my first large flock (circa 200 birds) today on OSR. Andrew
Cranfield
Lots of acorns, beechmast , hawthorn and ivy berries on my patch, which means there are almost no pigeons showing on the arable fields. A few corvids on winter plough and a small field of stubble, but they are mainly out on the sheep meadows. We need some hard weather. pigeon controller
We have loads of acorns on some trees and none on others along with beech masts, hawthorns and slows we have a bumper crop in Warwickshire. I picked over thirty pounds of blackberrie this summer all made in to jam. I'ts been a bumper harvest in the hedgerows.
Whitebridges
Loads in the north of the county and the dows are gobbling them up in the back of my garden. I shot a few woodies last weekend and they were stuffed full with acorns. Had quick recce this morning and never saw a bird on OSR. Sugar beet tops - yes.
